1st priority is to prepare your team in the best way to win a finals game the following week... Other teams can complain like Adelaide etc but if they wanted to host a final they should have won more games & not rely on other teams to loose etc.... Supporters need to get used to this as this is player welfare mgt... Happens in the epl when a team chooses what they want to win the championship, fa cup or Europe .. They have squads & will field a team that suits.... Don't know what the fuss is.. Though do question on how many players nth are resting, flirting with form???

Reality is Watts is skillfull , great kick etc... But poor second effort, want put body on line if it's a 50/50 ball... Not an A grader... You either that type of player or your not & all clubs have them... If they do a trade & MFC get what they want & vice versa that's great... Trading players whilst they have currency is smart & that's the footy world now days....

Superstars are developed by good footy clubs with strong culture...the MFC have been very poor at this..... Simply getting Superstars from other clubs is a just short term fix... Though would luv for him to become a demons...

Don't hold your breath.... Will go to Geelong if he leaves....

It's unfortunate but he's another player who had talent but was poorly developed & the captaincy at a young age ... Honestly ... Roos makes a good point we are the only league in the world were clubs have to develop players to play senior level.. Europe soccer teams have academies, U.S. had the high school & college systems....

Exactly.... People don't realise the enormity of virtually a complete rebuild of a footy club...

Sums up our poor drafting & development from around the mid 00s - 2012..... How many early picks have gone to other clubs & failed..... Morton, Sylvia, gysberts, blease.. I'm sure there's more

Basically don't have enough quality players..... Good core of young talent but our mid to senior players are far off the pace.... Poor kicking skills... All top teams have excellent field kicking skills... Can't have your own players kicking the ball to other team or on the full with no pressure.... Basic fundamental of our game... Makes you wonder what these recruiters were looking at when drafting these players... Hard to teach a player to kick @ 19 after it becomes a habit .....

honestly we must have dumb recruiters... All the top teams get players who can kick yet we get players with such poor kicking skills ... Those traits can be seen @ u18 level as this skill is generally set by then as it becomes a habit .. Such as kicking on both sides of the body....

One thing to draft top young talent ... The real challenge is how you develop them.....culture of a club... No doubt some of our picks were misses ... But our development process prior to Roos was terrible....

I don't know what members/supporters expect @ times... Worst list in the afl in 2013 , turnover over 22 players in 2 seasons & we expect it to be fixed... We want to slay every young player we have & expect them to be champions from day 1.... People having a go @ hogans game last week ... continued comparison Toumpas vs Wines... Honestly not the 1st club yo get an early pick wrong & top clubs get them wrong also... Where's the negativity from supporters?????

Why are we bothering with this post.... Though I did already post a reply! Club is chalk & cheese from both on & off the field! This was never going to be a quick fix....

If Neeld was still coach we would be still getting smashed.... Though like Roos inherited a basket case list with poor development & poor culture...

Last thing we want is to start eating our own....eg tigers Roosy was stating some obvious facts about our club.... We all knew this was going to be a long term plan & rebuild, let Rossy complete his time... Stay united!

Regardless if your a Roos fan or not... He inherited the worst list in the afl & perhaps darkest time in club history The club was broken both financially & culture & players wanting to leave.... A complete rebuil has taken place under PJ & Bartlett To expect any coach to fix this in 2 seasons is pie in the sky stuff.... It took Thompson @ Geelong around 7-8 yrs Reality....

with all due respect to Gardner... When he left the club we had a 5 mill debt! Handled Daniher departure poorly ... We need ex presidents etc supporting the current process

So it's Roosy fault that these pea hearted players laid 2 tackle in the 1st qrt.... The leadership group inc all players need to take responsibility for their efforts & 1 percenters! Roosy is trying to find answers & opens to the media .. He also said can't blame the past & enough is enough ..... Reality is there will be more list changes...can't [censored] dead horses! Stick to the plan Roosy...

Not defending current form.... Making finals in 2016 is not a pipe dream.. We prob should have been on 8 wins ... So another 4-5 wins is achievable .. List will be trimmed again .. Yes like any organization you need goals .. I'm in sales & my budgets always go up ..gotta aim high!

The issue the club has that the leadership has been very weak at the club for a number of years.. Roos is trying to install strong leaders with players from other clubs... Whilst they have come from strong culture & success its not an instant fix.., leadership & culture takes time to manifest itself & be automatic ... Listen to players who go to the Swans & Hawks they say leadership & culture is so evident were you either embrace it or you are shown the door... Hate to say it but PATIENCE

Lumumba played every game in his last year & may have been in top 5 of B&f... Hawks recruited Dew, Burgoyne others from other clubs but the environment & culture @ the Hawks turned them around... All new players walking into our club are trying to help build that culture ... Big difference....

Your kidding... Hogan over rated...1 st yr player kick 40 goals & raking about the most contested possesions in the comp u want to trade him....Did you work @ the MFC as a recruiter during 07-13???

Well said... Enough is enough! Club has invested in coaches & resources etc .. About time players did the same...
