It's weird (and yes this is at the height of Trade Season optimism which is likely to crash and burn early next year) but I see some of these best 22 lists and go "What about...?". Billy Stretch for example who played good football and now isn't included in a lot of peoples best team. Then I think about the players that I think aren't completely awful (Bugg and Kennedy for example) who injuries aside will have to be absolutely dominant in the VFL to get a game. Then I have another sip of Carlsburg and think to myself "This is a bloody nice position to be in, wtf is going on".

I agree the deal should be done. But, I can see Melbourne not wanting not drop out entirely from the first/second round picks this year to ensure they have a pick this year and next in that framework, so they are testing the waters a bit. Outside of something crazy I expect Hibberd to be traded to us for our second round pick this year so no hardball, the target has been identified and the deal will be done.
