the motorcyclist?

i'll tell you what. a 5 week suspension from the dees is a pretty serious penalty...maybe he didnt just have one drink...

godders to kerr definitely...

has anyone noticed that miller looks a lot more comfortable, and kicks more goals in games when neitz isnt playing? miller assumes a different role when neitz isnt there, playing closer to goal, and looks a lot better. in response to anyone who says miller is not a natural forward we should play him back, you're joking. he has no natural defencive ability at all. he chases a player and watches them kick. his body on body isnt strong enough to win contests. he plays forward not back. my interest is that he has a good motor, can run hard. could he be a crash and bash body in the midfield?

tazzie, he stepped up to the plate on sunday playing his best game for the year. he has struggled with the taggers, he is a bit smaller than a number of our key midfielders meaning he struggles under the physical pressure. when mclean is back inthe side TJ will prob drop back a spot in the tagging importance making his life a little easier...

Holland and Brad Johnson under investigation
deanox replied to Jaded No More's topic in Melbourne Demons
i agree entirely. Rhino Richards, watch how godfrey tags. he gets in front of players, he positions them away from the ball and he is quick to react: when west got around him he tackled him as soon as he got the pill. that is a lot different to holding on, pulling the jumper and stopping the other player contesting the ball. tazzie arem made a great point. we are almost as schizophrenic as either geelong or the dockers. we dont win the games we should (ie carlton last year), we constantly play above ourselves to pull of other games, then this year we lose 7 in a row, but we could easily have own the last 2. betting on melbourne is gambling suicide... -
well pavlich and brown, one would start at sandy, and the other on the bench. miller has been playing well the past few weeks, we cant drop him atm

sheedy, and mark williams as assistant! ND retained in director of football type role

If we could get anyone to the Dees next year who would it be? Judd through the centre is an obvious choice, and i think he is the best player in the comp. i dont need to list his attributes here, but if you add Judd to a midfield of Mclean, (a fit) moloney, TJ et al we are starting get a midfield that rivals the others... however, mclean and co do alright when they are all fit and on the park but we definitely lack a true CHF. we have a couple of options who dont seem to be the package. would the addition of pavlich to our forward line mean the difference between us being good and premiership material next year?

i think he was droped for poor form, and according to another thread has now been suspended for drinking on saturdaym and not showing up to sundays game...

i saw the ben holland incident and while he didnt mean to eye gouge, he did so he has to go. it looks bad and its not something that should happen in the game. RE the west incident, thats a joke. mclaren watched it happen. godfrey played west tight all day but he didnt hold or scrag him, he just played in front and tackled him as soon as he grabbed it. that was soft and cheap by west to hit someone behind the play, and ive lost an amazing amount of respect for him. west was beaten by a better player on the day, couldnt hurt us with the football and instead took a cheap and nasty shot off the ball. i thought the afl insisted that a camera at each end of the ground captured the whole ground so that all incidents were caught on video?

we wpont make the GF. but i think we'll make a decent charge to the finals. we could easily be 2-5 atm and we could have a shot from there...if we're lucky we'll scrape 8th. i'd like us to either get there or finish right down the bottom...

maybe your home clock is out by 4 minutes? lol
-
my mobile and computer say the same thing, its now 214PM

if he was an emergency for sunday, he shouldnt have been drinking saturday night. no excuses...

fantastically put

thats the answer to my question. does he need to be a star because of what we invested in him, or would you be happy with him being a good solid contributer in the team...

i think when you look at danners tenure you realise that he has always been left with a hole somewhere. the lost draft picks over salary cap issues a few years ago really cost us. everyone talks about how we have a couple of great oldies and a really good bunch of 18-22, but nothing in that 25-27 region well that is exactly why. thats the group we missed out on. the pending retirements of neitz, white, yze et al will end that old guard, and leave the young group (brock et al) to take charge of the club. if we keep bringing in youngsters like petterd, bartram, frawley, dunn etc we look like having a bright future...i am not either way on ND yet but could see why he could get another gig...

How would we have gone with Juice in the side?
deanox replied to rumpole's topic in Melbourne Demons
so you want to drop our current leading goalkicker, and one of our best performed players for rounds 1-5, for newton? sorry if i sound sarcastic, im just trying to clear it up exactly... im not saying newton shouldnt be getting a go, id love to see him play. but if the coaching staff dont think he is ready just yet, i'll back them in. miller has now played 2 average games in a row... for what its worth, miller current is averageing more disposals, more tackles, and more goals, than ever in his career. that doesnt mean he is performing well, its just an interesting stat. his handball to kick ratio is up tho... -
those players will be the first to go when mclean, rivers, wheelan, robertson and pickett are ready to come in. and he will continue to play the kids that are performing and deserve to be given a run at afl...

i think i am talking about the changing of the guard that is happening. neitz is part of the clubs old crew, and probably the best part of it. his strength and marking and goal kicking is important but previously he has lacked the support around him, in the midfield, off the half backline. we have a new generation of midfield brock, sylvia, jones, maloney etc) and half backs (petterd, bartram, CJ, bell) which can now combine. my concern is that when neitz leaves, we will be left with what we had before...only half the package. we have this year and next of the cross over before we need to find a new forward and ruck...

where will the goals come from? coz miller is our leading goal kicker this year, but most people want him delisted or traded, at the very least dropped to sandy...

100% Heart and Will to Win is all we ask!!
deanox replied to The Backyard Charizard's topic in Melbourne Demons
white had 22 touches around the ground, PJ8. darcy and street only had 22 between them, white was good around the ground. at the boundary throw-ins, white was unfairly treated as he was grabbed and held all day without getting a freekick. he seems to have found his leap again at the centre bounces though which is good.... -
and commentators/media who have joined in the chorus in pigeon holing him as one of the leagues 'superstars'

we're not going to win a flag this year, lets be honest, we have been ruined by injuries, among other things. how many years does neitz have left? i'd say this and next at the most...this year we were supposed to be contenders, and i still believe we should have been, if it wasnt for injury. the first couple of games were derailed by a lack of interchange players due to in game injuries and recently we have been exposed as our cream recovers on the sidelines. in the case that DN retires after this year, does our window slam shut? i think we are more chance of winning it next year, with neitz, than without, and in the same vein, i think were more of a chance next year with neitz than we are in 2009 without him, even if that extra year gives our youngsters a chance to enter the fold. frawley, petterd, dunn will only be better players with time, but i think neitz is probably more important as a single entity than any of their developments with respect to winning a flag.
