THE SAGA CONTINUES - WADA APPEALS

In years gone by, this saga would've belonged to the MFC. God knows how we've dodged this one. -
THE SAGA CONTINUES - WADA APPEALS

How satisfying would it be if the Essendon Football Club went down for this? Just to not have to hear Watson ramble on would be reward in itself. I know others say we shouldn't wish ill on clubs, but if Essendon cheated, and have malingered this whole process, with the knowledge that they have cheated, then I would be happy to see them go under as a club. -
I wouldn't even consider trading Toumpas and our 3rd rounder for Lynch and their second rounder. Let alone throwing our second rounder in WITH Toumpas, that is crazy. Lynch isn't that good. Toumpas has more upside. He will take time to develop mentally, but when he does, he will be an important player.
-
Outside of the first round, apparently it is a very shallow draft. Even the first round is only fair.
-
Yeah I agree. I've always thought Watts would come good. He dominated under 18 kids, but struggled in the AFL. To me, that can sometimes be a sign that he needed to mature - both mentally and physically, and that if he does - he'll replicate his under 18 form. He holds so many advantages over other players. He is very athletic, co-ordinated, and a great decision maker/ball user.

I would definitely be looking closely at these guys. Basketball backgrounds are advantageous for ruckman. AFL skills aren't what they used to be, these guys could pick up the game in a few months. A decline is skills in recent times makes the cross over a lot easier.
-
Trade their way into a decent forward, on top of a fully fit Rockliff, Hanley and Beams. They should comfortably win 8 games. You are right about the AFL digging their own hole over this issue, to give Brisbane a PP would seriously compromise the integrity of the AFL. They would be seen as playing favorites, and overall it would be hard to justify.
-
Cross should get another year, there is plenty of deadwood to cut before Cross.
-
They shouldn't get one. Brisbane have mismanaged their early draft picks. They traded us a first round pick for Travis Johnstone. Threw away Henderson and an early pick for Fev. Traded a promising young kid in Crisp, and dished off pick 5 and 25 - for Beams. The AFL shouldn't reward mismanagement. If anything they should reward MFC for improving. I hope we put in for an application for a PP just to make Brisbanes application less likely.
-
We are too inconsistent. But if we did come to play, we could win our next 3. North, Bullies and Carlton are all very beatable.
-
I can't see Essendon rising above us on the ladder in the next decade either.
-
Its like he is punishing the great James Hird.
-
Good elbow Dawson, an old school tactic, fantastic to see. Hopefully Cameron can even up on him.
-
Gee Jake Stringer is good. Next star of the competition.
-
Dixon would be ideal for our structure. He could provide Gawn with ruck relief, and give Hogan a chop out.
-
Dawes is a spud, that is all you need to know.

Just because it is governed by cash, it cannot be socialist? Ohh ok.. So the players rising up and having a large say in the game - to it's detriment - is what? The AFL wanting to take all the profits, and not let individual clubs the freedom they deserve, all the in the name of equalisation, and what freedom they do have - the AFL want all that money into the pot to rashin out to the poor clubs. There are clubs that are not financially viable, yet the AFL props them up. The AFL have to generate cash through TV rights to cater for their unrealistic socialist measures. This mob couldn't run a bath.
-
That is the new era under this socialist mob in charge. The umpires HAVE to umpire for what the fans want, not how the game IS. It is no longer umpired on it's merits. Welcome to modern day football. Most old school footballers I know refuse to even watch football these days.

So many of North's players look like champions when they are 30 plus points up. When the game is in the balance, they weren't around. Earlier on in the game Cunninngton couldn't buy a kick, now he looks like a ball magnet. North are weak, they are a very weak side. I'd hate to coach them. They will never go anywhere.
-
Luenberger won't attract the type of contract Frawley did - at least I don't think he will. There is no way the Lions should get a PP. They traded away Crisp, pick 5 and 25 this year. That would be Crisp, DeGoey and Touk Miller. All the sudden they'd look well placed. Rockliff was out much of the year, Hanley, loss of Merritt didn't help. No way they should receive a PP. AFL should've played their cards smarter last year. This short sighted mob in charge should've seen this coming. I thought it was an easy play last year to allocate MFC a priority pick, we needed one, and the AFL would've ensured they were well placed to help out the struggling teams. Now they have put themselves in a rather difficult position. There are teams that need help, yet the AFL would have to compromise themselves A LOT in order to help them. They would lose all respect. It would be the actions of a very incompetent and short sighted AFL board. The league is already a joke, I don't think the AFL can give Brisbane a PP now, even if they wanted to.
-
If Jamar can improve his goal kicking, he'd be an option. Outside of that, Spencer can provide ruck relief, but he needs to provide some utility beyond ruck duties. Charlie Dixon would be an ideal target at years end.
-
Without doubt, so would I.

I agree, Vince definitely deserves an AA nod. I think he'll get it to, well liked bloke. Footballer's footballer, he is getting better as he gets old as well - which is fantastic for us.
