  1. Oh dear North, perhaps it was naive to treat us with absolute disrespect last week and rest all your best players right before finals? Couldn't care less who loses this because I despise both teams equally. Drug cheats vs. the divas, divers and pretenders. Whoever wins will be obliterated next week.
  2. Especially not when they potentially get top 5 picks almost ever year regardless of where they place on the ladder. Academies, just fantastic aren't they?
  3. 4 goals for Pav. Freo are absolutely screwed once he retires. Lyon will be getting out of there the same day I reckon.
  4. I'm hopeful JKH proves a real steal. Be hard pressed to find many other ~40ish draft picks last year who had close to the same impact.
  5. Definitely a good fit for Carlton. They love the mentally unstable players, and there's the obvious coach connection.
  6. How I hope this kid gives the GWS football department many sleepless nights.
  7. Grimes and Garland are definitely shockers for me. They both had a terrible year, but the list is definitely a reflection of the coaching group and how they rate the players. It isn't helping our on-field culture when a captain is shanking kicks all over the place and gifting goals to the opposition. Interesting off-season ahead methinks. What exactly is it about Grimes that makes him fit for the captaincy, other than excellent public speaking?
  8. Not sure whether it's an indictment that 3 of the top 5 are new players, or something to be happy about? Either way, stoked for Jonesy. I'm so, so, so glad this man is our captain. Hell of a lot more respectable than some of the other captains in the league. And co-captain Jack Grimes... 14th? I know he got injured, but c'mon...
  9. Can that unnamed recruiter please stand up?
  10. Just occurred to me, what are the odds with all these kids leaving the Giants that the AFL prevent us from getting band 1 compo as it directly affects GWS's first pick? We all know they're a protected species at AFL House.
  11. Got a feeling there'll be some very left field trades we don't see coming, likely more fringe players who can't get games at the better teams. Did any of us foresee Tyson, Riley, Michie or Vince? I think the only recruit we saw coming was Cross.
  12. The players we recruit will probably replace the duds in the ones, who will next year be in the twos before the cycle repeats itself.
  13. Stringer, Shiel, Beams, crikey..anyone. Bulldogs need a KPF, they can spare a midfielder. Giants have talent all over the field. Buckley's in the middle of a rebuild and not averse to trading out senior players, as evidenced by the broom he swept through the list last year. The reason it's a no brainer is because you know the type of player you're getting when you trade them in. Different story with high pick draftees, as we should all be painfully aware of by now.
  14. Seems very Roos-like to trade out our high picks in exchange for a player + pick. Interesting if they then continue to trade each successive pick out for a player and another pick. In theory we could do that 3 or 4 times before the pick becomes too diluted and the players we'd get in return wouldn't be worth the trouble. And that's just one of our (probably) two top 3 picks. I'd be staggered if we're not already talking with the Bulldogs who must be desperate for Wright or McCartin. Depending on the Saints intentions (GWS and Colonwood both come into play here as they want Petracca) with pick 1, we could do very well out of these picks. In short, trading them is a no brainer.
  15. We've had it rough but arguably the Saints have had it worse. Goddard, Dal Santo and almost Riewoldt. Roos is spot on that free agency is actually bad for players overall, as the lucky talented minority will begin receiving hyper inflated salaries, leaving very little share of the pie for the overwhelming majority of talented-but-not-elite players. Of course, once that becomes a problem the AFLPA will then start their campaign for the removal of the salary cap, again under the false pretense of helping the "poor, underpaid, suffering" fringe players. And we all know what clubs would love that outcome and lobby AFL House to make it happen.
  16. Or perhaps he looked awkward and sheepish about the person in question given his exhaustive campaigning against domestic violence?
  17. If we take any free agents then we don't receive the same compensation for losing Frawley as we would otherwise. We've already been dumb enough to do it once before after losing Rivers and Moloney, can't see us doing it again with intelligent people running the show.
  18. Yeah, of course that melodramatic ninkumpoop would just copy Roos' master stroke of turning Frawley into a swingman.
  19. Didn't someone say our clash jumper has been changed but we needed to wait until next year as we missed some kind of AFL mandated deadline to use it this year? I'd be stoked just to have our white training jumper get the gig. Looks brilliant.
  20. Poster on BF forums said Strauss and Blease were given their marching orders today?
  21. Just another reason to hope the Cats bow out of finals in straight sets.
  22. Saints would be unwise to drag their feet too much longer drafting a long-term KPF replacement for Riewoldt. Whoever they get needs at least 2 or 3 years under Riewoldt to learn their craft. Basically, they'd be idiots not to take McCartin or Wright in this draft. Nick's days are numbered.
  23. Horrible miss from Stringer. He marks that, Bulldogs win. Bulldogs fans would be feeling thoroughly gutted over that. Likewise, Gia doesn't kick out on the full twice while inside 50, and scores anything, they win.
  24. We went hard for Sloane last year and supposedly came close, but he's next in line for the captaincy with Patty you'd think. Can we just trade them all our picks (minus Stretch) for Sloane, Tex and Dangerfield? I could live with that!
