Potential Trades [Warning: Reading this thread may self-destruct]
SaberFang replied to Dr evil's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'd love to know what happened to Garland this year. I know he had a limited preseason and surgery but if he has another year like 2014 he'll lose all currency. -

Aren't we at risk of losing Garland to free agency though? -

I'm sure he's disliked at GWS too if his performances are any indication. Yet another drafting failure, and he went at pick 1. And now everyone's going on about Petracca being the next Hodge. When will we learn? -

ASADA should take any offers off the table first thing Monday morning, show them they mean business. -
When is the bloody COLA being phased out? Ridiculously unfair advantage.

Trade 2 to the Bulldogs. They can draft a KPF, we'll take one of their fringe midfielders and second rounder. Keep 3 for Brayshaw.

I don't think they can appeal without new evidence? There's certain laws that prevent it, for the exact sort like Essendon who waste the court's resources by endlessly appealing. But clearly their plan is just to string this along with injunctions, appeals, and throwing up lawsuits that they know they won't win, but prevent ASADA from issuing SCN. Wouldn't be surprised if they just launch an appeal with the intent of delaying ASADA until after the verdict of the appeal. Wankers. -
Didn't know where else to put this but run into a few Colonwood and Carlton players out on the town in Sydney tonight. No goss, just saying. Maybe I should've inquired about M. Clark?

Jamar has one year left. If we can trade him for some younger ruck talent we should. Giles?? -

No, because Mitch will choose his destination and all signs point to the Pies. -

Can't believe Hird lost when he had exclusive access to all Tanya's notes! -

Expect Roos and Goodwin would be sitting down this very second mulling over who they can "unethically" poach from that disaster of a club. I can't imagine any of the players would want to stay now. This is the beginning of the end now that their last hope of preventing SCN's has evaporated. As has been stated numerous times, if they're so confident about nothing illegal being taken, why fight so hard to discredit the investigation? -

Pick 80 for Heppell and Zaharakis? :D -
Freo have apparently put forth 7 years at $4m, according to Purple.

Greater chance of us winning the premiership the next 5 years running.

Watched the interview (gotta love staying up until midnight to see the AFL footy show in Sydney) and found it hard to gauge what was true, what was scripted, and what was blatantly untrue. His claim about not speaking with any other coaches or clubs seemed a blatant lie. His repetitive line about being a "performance based industry" seemed scripted (especially when you consider the pressure on Adelaide after the success of Port), and his seething denial about the players calling the shots (despite smiling throughout the show every time someone brought it up) seemed like saving face. Probably a coincidence that Vince was on the show too, and Goodwin happened to be announced the same day Danger was in Melbourne? If nothing else you'd love to have been a fly on the wall in the greenroom before the show to see what the two boys talked about.
-
If he wanted to stay he would've come outright and said that. I didn't see the interview but the lines about loving the club and loving the players, etc... well, you only need to refer to our very own snake Mitch Clark and those comments last week about how much he loved Melbourne and loved our club, while he was already in negotiations with Buckley and Hird. Also Frawley and the "bleeds red and blue" comments. They're just hollow and empty words. There's no loyalty in modern football.
-
Just don't understand how you could be happy with the direction of a club that doesn't even have a coach. Do the players think they'll be choosing the direction or something? Smells like a recipe for disaster. If they're that arrogant, well.. good luck to them. Certainly means the incoming coach is fighting an uphill battle just to win over the players.
-
To be fair, if he had decided to leave he'd be making a fair effort to keep it concealed, no?

Also doesn't factor in a multitude of other possible list changers, like trades for Watts or Trengove, both of whom have some second rounder currency if Roos decides on a massive list turnover. -

Pick 3 and Toumpas for Dangerfield. Tappy/Strauss to anyone for 4th rounders. Pick 2, 20 & 4th rounder for Shiel, Giles and Frost. Clark trade for Lamumba. Robinson trade for Blease. 3rd rounder F/S for Stretch. Gwilt, ROK and/or Clint Jones as DFA. 5th rounder Jetta upgrade. 4th rounders on late draft smokies. Seems like a good off season to me. (will stop day dreaming now) -

Well, everything seems to be falling into place now.
-
Well everyone was saying Goodwin to us was a done deal Monday, so either he's done a shifty on us or people are jumping to conclusions.
-
Well if part of the allure we had of nabbing him involved signing up Goodwin, Adelaide have basically nullified our plan with a master stroke that should see Danger stay at the Crows. Pricks. I know it's a cut throat business, but is there ANY club this year that isn't trying to completely [censored] us over in new and exciting ways? Colonwood and Druggies with Clark, Adelaide with succession plan, Freo and Geelong with Frawley (arguably the former will help by increasing his contract though), GWS with their condescending comments on the priority pick, etc.
