  1. Seems to me it went something along the lines of: Patty: I'm sick of this coach, I'm going to play under Roos and Goodwin for the rest of my career. AFC: We'll sack Sanderson this very afternoon and get Goodwin to coach here. Patty: I'm staying! Well, maybe not. Possible scenario though.
  2. The timing of his nearly-signed with us and Adelaide announcing this out of the blue is just too much of a coincidence. Especially if they saw Danger walking to us due to the lure of Roos and Goodwin. I know what I'd do in Adelaide's shoes.
  3. Can't begrudge the guy, but he'd want to feel up for the challenge. A two year apprenticeship under Roos is about as good as it gets. Can see this ending very badly for Adelaide if history is any indication, and that makes me very happy.
  4. Geez, if that is true, we really aren't having a great month are we? Making Roos look like quite the fool.
  5. Don't underestimate how significantly destabilizing the whole club less than a month before trade week can play on player's minds. Fascinating, irrational decision. Haven't a clue if this bodes well or poorly for us with the Danger rumors. Likewise Goodwin. Did they decide any apprentice good enough for Roos was simply too good to pass up? Did Danger tell them he wants out and this is a desperate attempt to keep Tex and Sloane from leaving? Hard to say just yet.
  6. Moronic, emotive article. Clark's defection, when it eventuates, will clearly be viewed as one of the most insulting betrayals in football history, through the eyes of any moral person.
  7. Interesting post from Crows supporter on another forum: From the same source that told me in August 2012 that Sydney were into Kurt Tippett (which I refused to believe at the time) I have been told that Melbourne have put Pick 2 and Jack Trengove on the table for Dangerfield
  8. Any word on whether Danger is meeting Roosy this Thursday GNF?
  9. Pretty sure this will all be factored into the PP submission. They were probably 50/50 on awarding an end of first rounder before this all happened. If we're screwed out of our "best player" (as Roos has expertly reiterated in the media to plant the seeds), it'll probably get the proposal over the line. Wishful thinking maybe but we're being absolutely screwed here.
  10. I think the other consideration is it being easier to recruit talent to a club that has undeniable talent in it. Having Danger in our team would be an attractive proposition to lots of other players mulling their options. Kind of washes away the bad taste of the season's second half and replaces it with one of optimism.
  11. 7 years at 1.1m, front loaded? Gives him 2 years with Roos and reunites him with his old captain as the succeeding coach. Haha, we can dream!
  12. It will when he realizes the Giants will pick him up and he tells the Pies to improve their offer.
  13. Danger would have a massive flow on effect to the rest of the team. Just imagine Viney and Salem learning from he and Jones on field, under Roos' tutelage. Exciting stuff! It would be a massive coup having one of the most high profile stars of the game coming to our club.
  14. Danger will be in Melbourne either tomorrow or Thursday.
  15. What I will say is Selwood is a classy bloke. Sure, that both their coaches are brothers no doubt left him with no alternative but testify, but where was the testimony from what's his face during the Viney case? Didn't even release a statement. Yeah, I know his jaw was broken and all... but accidents happen.
  16. The point is the inconsistency is an absolute joke for a so called "professional" sport. Simple fact is he CHOSE to bump a player 7 meters from the ball with the intent to throw him off balance and prevent him from impacting the game's next contest. He elected to jump off the ground and as a result made contact with the head and caused Selwood to bleed. This action took Selwood out of the game for at least 5 minutes, during which time North capitalized with a goal. And this sniping little turd, great a player as he is, has form. Got no sympathy for him whatsoever. But as usual the AFL just make the rules up as they go.
  17. Do the crime, do the time. Regardless of whether the rules are stupid or not, he [censored] up and deserved a week. Useless as usual, the whole system is a farce.
  18. Well realistically, his manager could easily be playing us to get him a better deal from the Crows. Sloane, Tex and Danger will all be getting $1m offers from interstate clubs.
  19. Geez, that's a staggering offer. Would be hard to turn down other than the interstate factor. You'd have to set yourself up for life in another city for the better part of a decade. It's 1.7mil more than Geelong's offer.
  20. Maybe meant our first and second pick, so 2 and 21?
  21. I think there's another 3 clubs that would bid on him anyway? They were always planning on using a first rounder as far as I've read. He's worthy of a top 5 pick.
