Roosy at the Fox stage now for anyone at the G.
-
At this rate, anyone on our list who has more currency by leaving than staying is ripe for trade. Exhibit A: getting pick 3 for losing Frawley. Your hypothesis is pretty accurate too. I think everyone approaches salary reviews with the plan of demanding a ~20% payrise knowing you'll only get half of what you ask for. Player managers undoubtedly approach client contracts the same way. It's all a game.
-
A few of the MFC boys should be around the G tomorrow. At least Hoges, Viney and Gussy. Reckon Hoges would be a riot after sinking froths at the bar for a few hours.
-
Would it be reasonable to assume the club lost interest in retaining Jeremy after he put off contract talks and shopped himself around? Roos was pretty clear about only wanting genuine, dedicated competitors with a thirst to improve the MFC in 2016.
-
Billy, sort your dad out! We want him to stay! He should be telling the Bombers to hire Neeld! ...oh, wait.
-
Where's that fellow who bumped into him at the supermarket? Time to go scope out the deli.
-
In other news, Alastair Clarkson is replacing Paul Roos as senior coach of the Dees next year.
-
I know it's part of the industry, but I'd be really disappointed in McCartney if he left only 8 months after starting, especially after Goodwin personally recommended him to come onboard in the hope he could help mentor him throughout the transition to senior coach.

Cale Morton anecdotes... cringe.

Delistings/trades at end of the season
SaberFang replied to Northern Summer's topic in Melbourne Demons
To be honest, if no clubs are interested in trading their first or second rounders for Watts, wouldn't we just wait until he's a FA next year and run away with the compensation pick (likely band 2 or 3; between pick 19 and pick 30)? He's shown glimpses this year that the penny's finally dropped; let's see what might happen after McCartney gets a full pre-season with him. -
Geez Freo are losing some class with those two out the door. Would love Kirk at the MFC.

Hardly wetting myself; it's a fairly potent comment from the players themselves (whether a slip of the tongue or pure banter remains to be seen). Either way, it's certainly more newsworthy than the usual "unnamed source" or "closely connected" comment from some random Facebook poster that purports to know the inner workings of our recruitment department. I don't really mind one way or the other with Garland; I'd prefer he stayed but a compensation pick between 19 and 26 could equally be used to our advantage, especially if we end up trading pick 24 for Melksham.
-
Exactly. North didn't seem all that sympathetic about the awful non-HTB-decision that cost Richmond a shot in front of goal in the last QTR.
-
Wonder if the MFC recruiters are in the crowd watching. Has anyone caught your eye WJ?

Both Scott brothers seem like absolute flοgs of the highest order. This ain't a surprise. The rules are designed to enable this kind of situation; Geelong have to pay a fair price for him now and they secure his services. End of story.
-
Think the cat might be out of the bag thanks to Tommy Mac. Friendly banter I wonder?
-
If we'd taken Nic Nat we would never have developed him properly in the toxic environment that was our club.
-
Great result. Could give two shits about North's unfair run with the umps tonight; they've made a career under Scott of playing for cheap, staged, dived free kicks so karma is a dish best served warm. Eat that losing feeling, you twits!
-
It's funny, the best final was the Adelaide v Bulldogs game where neither team bothered with defence all night. If only actual footy were like that all the time, unlike this defensive slogfest tonight.
-
The week's rest finally coming into play.
-
Can just imagine Scott in the coaches box wondering how to get more goals. "Hmm, we need a staging diver in the goalsquare! Quick, sub Thomas on!"
-
Not surprising to see a clueless coach like Scott simply turning this into a tackle slogfest to prevent anyone from scoring. Shithouse footy. Bloody exhausting for North to spend all 4 quarters just man-watching rather than ball-watching; I'm hopeful this breaks open in the second half and the Eagles kick away.
-
I hate North so much. Please Eagles, PLEASE! GET UP!

Still shaking my head at Freo last night. They were actually stupid enough to play defensive rather than pressure and harass Hawthorn all night. There is surely no way imaginable North Melbourne will fall backwards into a premiership this year. No chance whatsoever.
