  1. Collingwood getting involved isn't exactly good news; their picks for this and next year's drafts are well and truly tied up with Treloar and Aish.
  2. Howe wants to play forward. The coaches want him to play in defense. He decides his opinion is worth more than the coaches. End of story. And you know what? I trust our coaches a hell of a lot more than Howe or his ass of a manager. I don't give a crap what abilities he apparently "possesses." On game day, he's lazy, doesn't gut run, doesn't understand our structures and has horrible body language. Worst of all, he so desperately wants to be a forward and can't stand Roosy playing him in defence, yet he kicked more behinds than goals this year. Stop drinking your own bathwater Jeremy.
  3. Geez, if we can find a way to get an extra pick inside the top 15, Lovell or Rioli would be my top recommendations. The later clubs still find ways to get deadset guns even with their lowly first round picks.
  4. Geez, Carlton are practically starting from the bottom. Throwing out Yarran, Casboult, Hendersen. Were prepared to ditch Kreuzer until every other club passed. Murphy and Gibbs have never shown their true potential and the rest of their list is simply awful.
  5. So... anyway... When does Lovett have to nominate us as his father/son option? And if he does, will it be our responsibility to draft him on draft night itself?
  6. Collingwood joined the race tonight, according to Seven. So it's Gold Coast, North and Collingwood (with a few other teams showing interest).
  7. Was exactly my first thought; it's pretty clear Parish will be taken by Essendon at 4 or 5 (Carlisle pick). Gold Coast gain Howe in exchange for a 3 pick downgrade of their first rounder and their second/third round pick. They already have pick 19 so I'm not sure they'll miss it much.
  8. Weren't even mentioned in the 5 Melbourne clubs looking at him, so... yeah.
  9. Have heard good things about Gresham. Could be a bolter.
  10. No way North are interested. He's under 30.
  11. It's just the dying remnants of our former cultures; where players expect the club and other players to do everything for them to help them attain success. And get paid well over their market worth in the process. Had a gutfull and will be pleased to see the back of Howe and his manager (who well and truly screwed over all parties as far as I'm concerned).
  12. If we could get pick 19 and draft Lovell... well, that's just sensational. Alternatively, if these rumours about Prestia come to fruition, well...
  13. O'Meara has been doing a lot of work behind the scenes in 2015 establishing a post-playing career. Make of that what you will. He's buying up real-estate in multiple cities and has tangible interests in another (heavily AFL focused) industry.
  14. Saints won't give up pick 5, they'll find a way to get them something around pick ~12.
  15. Sadly the players know what we all do -- free agency has turned the AFL into a two-tiered competition where players only want to go to the proven finalist teams. Good luck to Carlton ever amounting to anything is all I'll say.
  16. I reckon our sixth rounder will get the deal done. GWS just give away their players with gift wrapping and thank-you cards.
  17. A former pick 4 who hasn't lived up to his potential after 3 years is quite different to a former pick 10 who hasn't lived up to their potential after 6 years. In no universe are they like-for-like on the trade table except in Dodoro's eyes (and that's exactly the reason you know they aren't like-for-like).
  18. I think you answered your own question. Can you list the games this year where Jeremy showed up? It's a bit like Frawley. Great shutdown defender when he bothers to put in. Unfortunately for us, he spent about 17 rounds last year trying not to get injured while deciding on a new club.
  19. You're right. I forgot to bundle in Hogan to Essendon! I should send my CV to the club. I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt and hope, nay pray, Barney was just playing along.
  20. Not sure if sarcastic, but your point (if serious) is well made in such a shallow draft. Pick 19 vs the second rounder for Gold Coast could be the difference between pick 19 and pick 22-26 depending on FA compo. Dangerfield, Selwood, Leuenberger, Suckling and Grant could all get band 1-3 compo depending on which club the AFL wants to help out. In a weak draft, a ~6 pick downgrade means a hell of a lot more than most years.
  21. First rounder, Dawes, Howe, Toumpas and Watts to Gold Coast. Dixon to Port. Melksham to Melbourne.
  22. Fat chance, we'll want their end of first round activated concession pick.
  23. I'd love to know if Roos or Goodwin is driving the Melksham trade. He isn't worth more than a third rounder.
