  1. Almost every Facebook and Twitter comment section is filled with Bombers supporters basically celebrating that he's out the door.
  2. With the extra $700K he could get a private jet to fly him to Moggs Creek every night.
  3. For crying out loud, get your [censored] together Freo. I'm sick to death of bloody Hawthorn EVERY YEAR! SJLE GALSKHJ ;SDLH I despise the message it will send to players if types like Lake and Frawley can continue to just waltz straight into a premiership after "doing their time" at the lowly clubs.
  4. Well based on his Twitter he's coming to us. He certainly wasn't as fast as Mitch Clark to disown his current club though.
  5. Surely they are just taking the [censored] out of him.
  6. Sounds like the club were rather gleeful in giving him the arse. Wouldn't waste our time with him.
  7. It does seem to be an oximoron, doesn't it? A lot like AFL Integrity Department.
  8. If I had to guess, it's purely because the official free agency period hasn't begun and they want to look as if they're following AFL protocol. Obviously it hasn't stopped other players demanding trades to specific teams, but not one other free agent this year has announced a destination club either, so it's hardly an isolated situation.
  9. I can assure you, he's going to Geelong. It's the worst kept secret in the AFL industry but everyone involved knows Geelong's been his only destination for a long, long time. If this is some kind of gobsmacking double play by his manager, they've not only lied to everyone at the AFL but everyone at Geelong, including their coach and CEO. What possible benefit does he achieve by doing that?
  10. You'd have thought the part where his manager told us not to bother enquiring was a big enough hint. Apparently not.
  11. Cathy Freeman actually got on the track.
  12. People still think we're a chance? Holy crap. Save yourselves the heartbreak. Accept it and move on. He's going to Geelong.
  13. Geez players are bloody entitled these days.
  14. GWS would surely be laughing their heads off right now at this situation. They basically caused it by giving Howe's management a wildly inaccurate representation of his worth when they knew it was too late for the trade to even happen.
  15. I think I just wet my pants with excitement.
  16. The unfortunate reality is that if Geelong get their way, they will be in remarkable shape. If Clark gets back their forward line is monstrous. If Dangerfield comes then Selwood can't be tagged out of games. If they get Henderson then their defence looks secure. If they get S. Selwood their midfield depth is no issue. If Menzel can stay injury free then they're basically getting an amazing new player injected into their team for nothing. And if Adelaide settle with the FA compensation pick, Geelong can bank another top 10 draftee and secure their future. Sadly this one draft period could set Geelong up for sustained success. Sick to death of the prolonged success from the same teams every single year.
  17. Aren't Roos and Rocket reasonably good mates?
  18. Collingwood will need their playing list expanded to 100 players to recruit everyone they're being linked to.
  19. Gerard Healy was towing the same line on Fox a few weeks back. It's downright embarrassing.
  20. There isn't a living football supporter that would take VDB over Wines, although they possess many similar attributes. Nonetheless, it's a good reality check that there are seriously good players out there; we just need to get better at finding and identifying them. Unfortunately, the success of VDB sent 17 other clubs into a frenzy, pushing them out into the minor leagues trying to replicate our success. Taylor would be doing VERY well to replicate a recruitment of equal success in this draft.
  21. Caro flat-out saying that nobody is getting any priority picks this year. She's got a direct line to Mark Evans and other members of the Commission, so I'd say that settles it. Carlton's bluff worked.
  22. As HL wrote, we would've gotten him with pick 12 before Adelaide took him with pick 14.
  23. Geez the benefit of hindsight. Who the hell would we have taken with pick 4 if given the choice now? Wines. Macrae or Stringer? Fairly sure if Roos was around a year earlier then Wines would've been the exact archetype of midfielder he loves.
  24. Best available young forward to compliment Wingard, I guess. Schulz doesn't have much left in him.
  25. Got me stumped. He's all but signed at Geelong, the deal's been done for ages. Move on, people.
