  1. You do realise that the majority of people who sell memberships at games do so on a volunteer basis?? These people don't get paid to sit outside in the sun and miss the majority of the game. They do so because they love the club. It's very easy to throw stones from a distance. How about ringing the club and offering your thoughts or even your time to assist?
  2. The re-worked version of our theme song makes me cringe. If someone from the club is reading please leave the original alone.
  3. Jack Viney is arguing with the FD over its spending?? All 4th year players have input and are consulted over such matters, aren't they? I've heard everything now.
  4. ANB loves Melbourne. His parents are over here every other weekend. His younger brother, whom mum thinks has every bit of ability that Alex has if not more, follows the Dees closely and would love to join him in Melbourne.
  5. Anyone got a link to the Barrett rubbish???
  6. Anybody get a look at young Jake Lovett today?
  7. No he didn't.
  8. Was talking to Max King during the week. He cops heaps from the boys because he is forced to eat 3/4 steaks for dinner every night. He has to eat to the point of making himself sick to put on size. Not much fun he reckons.
  9. I saw the Jimmy Stynes statue.
  10. Brent Moloney runs the Brent Moloney Football Academy in Noosa for the young blokes in the picture. He has managed to build a relationship with the MFC, hence a lot of the kids getting about in the Melbourne gear.
  11. I loved the book. References to ANB, Billy and Oscar made it a great read.
  12. As are Albury where Crossy is playing a few games this year.
  13. More info on the time trail. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/melbourne-youngsters-impress-coaching-staff-after-strong-time-trial-performances/news-story/b4f237069e7044c56fa90e7834a7a4ba
  14. 3km Time Trial results from Princess Park this morning: 1st - Tom McDonald 2nd - Jack Grimes 3rd - Nathan Jones
  15. 3km Time Trial results from Princess Park this morning: 1st - Tom McDonald 2nd - Jack Grimes 3rd - Nathan Jones
  16. Not ideal but boxing, swimming, battle rope, kettle bells, rowing, arm bike, therabands, upper-body weights, non-weight baring treadmills will all help keep his heart rate up.
  17. In the last 3km time trial at Princess Park Tommy McDonald beat home Jack Grimes and Tommy Bugg.
  18. I watched training for 1.5 hours this arvo. -Trenners and Petracca were inside on the bikes. No Heritier or Newton and Pedo came out mid-session and walked laps. -Bernie, Tyson, Gus, AVB, Neville, Spencil, Dawes and Frost made up the re-hab group who did a shite load of running. They did mostly repeat 80 meter sprints on the opposite oval and then timed efforts around where the players trained. Dawes looked super fit and outran Neville and Spencer. Frost did a lot less than the rest but didn't look too resticted. AVB was the standout in this group. -Most drills focused on how the coaches want the team to play. E.g. where to stand at stoppages, how to defend when the opposition have the ball inside our 50, ball movement. Drills were stopped if coaches were unhappy with how they went or players were unsure about how to set up. The kids like Liam H and Weideman seemed to be the main infringes here, which makes sense. -Intensity was very good. Everything was done at 100%. -Dean Kent was the stand out in the session with his hard running, tackling and his voice the features.
  19. Boxing is a fantastic form of anaerobic fitness that involves very little loading of the joints. It gets the heart rate right up. It's also very good for upper body strength.
  20. This is why the club heads to QLD when they do, to get out of Melbourne due to the tennis.
  21. I've noticed that you're pretty negative about every draft situation we get ourselves into. Are you one of those, never happy unless they're miserable types?
  22. Spencer is no worse than those players you mentioned. I'd rather show some faith in a kid with potential than those who have shown little in five years on an AFL list. We'll have to agree to disagree.
  23. There was one reason these players weren't playing senior footy and were traded out for chips. They're not much chop. I applaud the club for picking a player that they think they can develop into a good player in time rather than settling for 3rd rate options.
  24. Jake has settled on Casey Scorps for 2015. However, he and his parents were given a tour of the Holden Center recently and the filth have shown some interest in taking him as a rookie.
  25. I couldn't see ANB in any of those shots???
