  1. Given we have Garland and Meesen on the LTI, putting Spencer back on the rookie list would seem unnecessary
  2. Which players dont "bleed red and blue"? I think Junior will retire at year end. Therefore we need a new Captain for 2010. I would go for Brad Green but Brett Moloney and Brad Miller would in the leadership group for mine.

    Dunn

I dont think its a choice of Dunn vs the players you name. I reckon Junior will retire at year end. He is struggling. One of Jamar/ PJ/Meesen will go at year end. We dont have anyone good enough to hoist as a No 1 ruck. If Robbo is fit and firing then I would probably extend his tenure. Dunn is very much under the gun for next year. His position on the list is not dependent on the players above.

    Dunn

If he is viewed as not competing for best 22 after 5 years on our list why do want to keep a player on that clogs the list? He is not competing against Strauss and Blease and we clearly have more preferred options in the best 22. If we do finish last with less than 4 wins, we have picks 1,2,18,34,50, 66/ PSD #1. If we take Spencer and say Valenti we still have picks 1,2, and 18 to come onto the list plus PSD1. Thats six players on our list that have to come off through retirement/trading/delisting. Any thoughts how we achieve that while holding onto an NQR player who is not best 22 for "depth"?
  5. Your earlier comment suggest 500 MFC fans and 20,000 NM fans. Nothing like exaggeration is there to make you "sick in thr guts". There was no doubt our attendance was down buts lets not let the facts get in the way. BTW, did you notice North had only 13,000 at the Dome on the weekend?
  6. I would agree with that interpretation.
  7. I am not sure of the specific incident but had the MFC footballer been in contact with the ball at the time the decision was given? Having watched a number of non MFC AFL games in the past couple of weeks the umpires have been snappy on the 50 metre penalty if the ball has not been returned centimetre properly to the free kickrecipient. Hell, with our disposal it could be a touch and go situation!
  8. Fair assessments on those two although I am not as sold on Newton as you are.
  9. You'd clearly struggle with the pace of the play there Mo. And they dont like undesirables hanging around the place. Best you stay away.
  10. What you say [bolded] about U9s actually happens. You clearly have not either attended or been involved in football at that level and it shows. Nothing like ignorance blocking out recognition for a supportve positive environment. Which side is that? That clearly does not happen at a number of clubs and junior leagues i have been involved with. Its quite the opposite. And by the way the skills taught are both sporting and about true sportsmanship. Once upon a time there lived a ........ Makes your reference to an U15 side uninformed and self serving.
  11. Correct Bub. And they read them off the footy cards. Whether they understand the significance of them,. But they are certainly aware.
  12. Adelaide went into the game with a crippled ruck team and got flogged by Hudson and Minson. I dont think we can afford to do likewise. If Spencer is fit I would bring him in. In: Cheney/ Whelan, Spencer. Out: Rivers, Frawley Dunn to play a role up back and see if he can actually make an impression in a position.
  13. All of them. Seriously you should get out more and understand junior football.
  14. Cos was best for WCE in the online Age. Normally I listen to 774 for football particularly Friday and Saturdays. I just cant stand Rex (What a creep whether in or getting out of car!) or the buffoons on MMM. However, I dont mind SEN and I think there interstate coverage from SA and WA is the best coverage. I think Rod Jamieson and co in Adelaide for 774 are just terrible. Fair call. Just dont where that has him for the longer future.
  15. Too often posters refer to Sylvia's "talent" and then make it conditional on some core problem in his game. I dont know why you and others do that. IMO talent is what you deliver. BRFE's post # 306 would contradict your view on Sylvia. Nothing controversial could be said about Newton and Bate. Its obvious where they are at.
  16. When I said that U9s were a tad worldly and mature I did the U9s a huge disservice by using the word tad. BTW, if you are true to form you would miss any target by a mile.
  17. They do seem a tad more worldly and mature than you Geddy. Does your Mum know your on the PC again? BTW, we are undefeated after six rounds and on top of the ladder. :D Come down some time. Can you cut oranges?
  18. Correct. The game has got much quicker over the past four or five years particularly the last three. McLean is slow and is struggling to have coinsistent impact on the game. The wides spaces of Subi dont suit him as much as the confines of the SCG dont. For MFCs sake and yours I do hope McLean is injured because he is really struggling to run out a game and even more so have an impact. Sorry but it is. John Tilbrook was one of the most "talented" footballers in Australia when MFC recruited him. The next big thing... One problem...he never got involved in the game. There have been a number of others since the 1970's like that. Its often called a "core weakness" When you play midfield, and between half back and half forward, low possessions spell disaster. And you explanation that he does not know how to get it is laughable. You really cant be serious putting that forward. Its the crux of his problems (there are a couple of others) and he is dead meat in the AFL if he cant do this. FFS its six years in the system. I coach and U9 team and three quarters of the side know how to lead for a football. Diddums. You really should rethink some of your arguments Jaded. Thats tripe. BRFE is right.
  19. You would hope so with McLean. Its not that he has gotten slow, he always has been. The game has got quicker and opposition sides are exploiting his lack of pace. The fact Sylvia gets lost out there mitigates the "talent" people talk of.
  20. It would be naive and churlish in the extreme to underestimate the leadership and positive impact of premiership players Lloyd, Lucas, Fletcher and McVeigh at Essendon over a number of years. Had they been fit Fletcher and McVeigh would have been in that line
  21. Correct. Victoria Park is not deemed a safe or useable venue for public events. It is a public liability nightmare. Its a good point about the Docklands deal. If that is true then playing AFL games at Casey is a pipedream. Any way Casey IMO is too far out from the CBD.
  22. Never happened Junior. It was a bad dream. Never let the facts get in the.......... Princes Park and Docklands are lifeless and featureless stadiums. I'd cut back to two fingers when you type.
  23. I voted and thought it was a silly gimmick. I cant see the point of it. And Captain is honour for actions on the field not for any yellow running along his back!
  24. Connolly is absolutely right. Its amazing how thin skiinned some posters can be while actually being in denial of the reality of the situation. Just turn the page and go to the amusements and weather.
  25. My understanding was that White was told he would be not offered a contract and was played much of the season at Sandy. He was recalled at the end of the year and given a fair send off for a player who had the game pass him by. MFC held onto him for too long. Would there be any other reason why 15 other clubs did not pick him up? Hmmmm. You comment on the players and coaching staff is without substance or merit.
