  1. Erratically talented but repeatedly selfish and not team orientated. Prone to brain fades. Not a patch on Cale. No thanks. The price asked by the Tigers will be ridiculous. No bargain there.
  2. You are surmising what you think has occurred without understanding who the actual source was of the initial report and what actually transpired. Whatever you experienced may not have necessarily occurred in this situation. Its interesting that RFC's rebuttal of the initial media article did not include the unequivocal support of Wallace until the end of the season. Talk about a limp handling of the matter If the Press were speculating then they could have run this sort of story anytime over the past seven weeks. There is good reason to think that the Press did have a credible source at the Club who gave information based on the Club's intentions to act. However like many of these situations there may have been awkward legal complications that may still be worked through on the contract. The whole situation surrounding Wallace's future has been a Chinese water torture which is an unnecessary and malignant distraction to the Club on and off the field. Its been coming for sometime and the Club does not have the where with all to handle it professionally and effectively. There is a good chance today's fiasco was triggered from an element within the Club and that in itself speaks volumes of what is happening at Tigerland. And it will only get worse for them. NB: Maybe James Hird knows a little more about the media game than others who claim too. <_< http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sport/afl...8-19742,00.html
  3. No problem. What would be best for MFC is for RFC to finish 15th with 5 wins.
  4. Leave it. Wallace will probably be gone by then
  5. I was not there on Sunday and I have made no comment on his specific performance at the match. You may indeed have seen two Hughes out there on that Sunday. Anyway you agreed with my point so I dont see the need for the reference. BTW, Hughes is not competing with Jetta for a position.
  6. How do you know it was speculation? There may have been a leak from an RFC source and the Board has backflipped on the leak. If they were basing it on speculation, then there should have been reports that Wallace was sacked after Round 1. FWIW, I dont think the Press are wrong in this. If it is indeed "speculation" and I dont think it is, the speculation is so close to the truth its not funny. Either way, Richmond just look stupid in their whole management of this issue. They have had a full year to deal with this scenario and a good seven weeks to contemplate their next move. They look inept and its all their fault.
  7. He played well in one quarter. <_< He will have to do alot more than that to get a call up and there would have to be a position deemed vacant for him in the MFC team to fill.
  8. Unless they are going to select him in the MFC side then why would they elevate a player? Hughes is not close to selection at the moment.
  9. I am no fan of the Hun but I dont think they look silly at all through this. Richmond on the other hand...... <_< . Richmond has no alternative but to come to a definite decision on Wallace. They are like the nervous guy on the edge of the diving board without no ability to work down the tower stairs. They are going to have to jump. The longer Richmond leave this the worse they will look and the more malignant the instability. Richmond should also be looking to gently "retire" off some senior players (eg Brown, Bowden and Simmonds) toward the end of the season as well. Its a complete rebuild at Richmond and the sooner they get moving on it the better for them.
  10. They do that This is another example of brilliant media management by the Tigers. One day there not interested in Benny the next day they have drafted him!! Wallace is finished as a Coach and the vultures are circling for the kill.
  11. Will there still be Tuesdays with Terry going forward? This should be no surprise what so ever. Caro Wilson on 3AW and Gerard Whately on 774 have been calling this even to the round when it will happen for a while
  12. Clearly Adam's post is lost on you. Your loss as usual. For the record, Williams was an elite contested ball winner with outstanding decision making and deft disposal particularly by hand. But he was slow and was not the most mobile of midfielders. Albeit when he played they were not as crucial as they are now. Williams would still be a good player now in the AFL but his lack of pace would find him under more pressure now than back then. Indeed when the opposition had the ball, he would definitely be the player you would run off. McLean has none of those elite Williams traits. Brock is a good honest hard at it footballer whose games is generally serviceable these days. I dont think he is a No 1 midfielder. I am hoping your players like Morton, Scully (??) step up as the class players in the midfield and McLean gets to do the do he is good at without the pressure of being No 1 in the midfield. But his on field shortcomings are well known and they hurt his effective when he does get the ball. He definitely in the leadership mould. However I am not sure I would have him Captain next year.

No. He was retained to give him an opportunity to show if he was good enough for AFL. I have said this many times on this forum. Your petty snipe is all the more stupid because you have ignorantly attacked me on this forum for stating that I dont think Valenti is up to AFL standard. If I have stated that and you have had your juvenile and misguided barb at me for that why would I be keeping Valenti on for "depth"? I leave the flip flopping to your feverish little mind. Its a pity you dont take the time to understand another person's argument particularly when you struggle to make a coherent and thoughtful contribution yourself. Keep up the good work. P.S High Tower - You're right. But what's new about Mo doing that?
  14. We werent there when it really counted.. in September. We made up numbers in the AFL finals in 2004 in 2006. Hannabal is right on this. Our best crack at a flag was 1990 and we blew it in a year when a side of ordinary quality got the flag. We were never in the hunt when it got serious in any of the three years I spoke of.
  15. Good post Adam. Many issues not realised by some.
  16. Has it been confirmed by MFC? Its seems a poorly managed announcement if its being announced on SEN rather than a proper press conference to honour a great servant of the club.

    Absolutely spot on.
  18. It could argued that Jamar was starved of opportunity playing understudy to a domineering White and a trucculent Jolly. That's his 1st 5 years of limited game time and opportunity. Plus he has had a number of injuries including this year after his best season ever in 2008. He is only 25, 26 soon but still very young for a ruckman....... Doggo PJ is no different to Jamar as a ruckman. You are blowing alot of wind talking up the ordinary. BTW, his standout year at Sandy was about 9 games. He is very good at VFL level. That the problem.
  19. Fair enough. Based on your comments, they would be in same boat with 7 and 8 years respectively as neither has any marked influence on the game. Time will tell.
  20. Thanks for the confirmation about logic. Right so PJ has also kicked only 8 goals in his other 42 games. I dont think Jamar has kicked 8 goals in 42 games. And for the record he has kicked 3 goals in 7 games and had at least 4 goals kicked by his direct opponent drifting unattended in the F50 ( McIntosh 3 goals, Fraser 1 goal) Johnno would still be a jack of no trades in a good team and would not have survived as long. As frustrating as Jamar is, 2004 and 2005 were his first two seasons of AFL. And from my recollection, MFC finished 8th both years. Hardly good teams. PJ is now in his 7th year of AFL and you are still talking potential. Thats a real worry. I agree PJ is a very good ruckman at VFL level. He just gets found out in the AFL. He is a dodgy shot in front of goal. His record speaks for itself and some of his field kicking is less than ordinary. Its not a matter of how far you can kick or how lovely your technique is, it what you do with it. Short memories indeed. Last year he nullified a dominant Sandilands at the MCG against Freo and guess what with the heavy work he did around the centre guess what MFC won the game. What a carp metric that is. I am no fan of Jamar but eulogising of PJ for one game up to standard is unbelievable. There is no doubt that PJ is more mobile than Jamar but for all that mobility I have never seen PJ influence a game from any position he has played forward, back or in the ruck (And even his staunchest supporters have admitted he is not a ruckman!). I can only deduce that given the high number of cheap disposals that his deft little kicks with a beeeeuuudful kicking style just dont hit the target or hurt the opposition. And as you have pointed there is his decision making.....Hmmmm!! Dont bother condemning Jamar to make PJ look better. Its a wasted breath. Neither are satisfactory AFL ruckman. But at least one of them has a modicum of rucking and heavy work capability. And its not the one with the deft little kicks and the cute skills.

No kidding. Get out of here. Who was stating the alternative view to that and what relevance is Jolly to the conversation about our rucks now? To be honest, you would have to wonder why? Jamar gave more in half a season than White did all last year. White was finished and we held onto him for too long.
  22. If this side lines up as selected with the ins and outs, its a prefect example of list management issues being considered with selection issues. Surprised Bennell was dropped after his game but understand the possible reasons why? However he would have been the sort of player who we need against the likes of the Bulldogs. Valenti has his chance to show his wares and he has a total of the final 15 rounds to justify an elevation at year end. Team looks short. Jamar on the bench so soon. Would they bring him as a last minute change? <_<
  23. If he performs then he gets his contract extended. I think the leader and role model assessment is dubious at best. Some of his on field play lacks basic team first orientation and he is not necessarily a good example to younger players in a lot of facets.
