  1. More fool you old dee. I would be happy to back you in any sensible or plausible recommendations you have. Got any? I am not sure what you think you are achieving but its got you chuffed. Gee Robbie, its unlike you to post negative whinging rants. Beyond moaning that the sky is falling do you have any constructive suggestions or is it easier having anonymous potshots?
  2. No problem. Just keep away from sharp objects when your mood gets dark!
  3. You are right it would change anything and it wont make the AFL flinch on their next move. Meek? I d rather the Club did not waste scare resources disappearing up blind alleys. There are better ways to unite the Club but you will still have the entrenched posse of pessimists who mystreriously see themselves in the vanguard of positive action by continually claiming the Club is weak, meek, crap and has been so for 50 years.
  4. Whats the elephant in the room? And the Board wants to hide something? From whom and what do you think it is?? At least you are candid enough to admit you have no information.
  5. Agree about not making the report public. I dont think it is appropriate for the MFC to publicly comment specifically about the report in public. But I would hope the report provides useful recommendations that are acted up by the Board to benefit the club. I dont need to see the report neither do the other 40k members. We may as well post it to the other 17 clubs as well. I dont see how you will see the results if you dont know what is in the report. I dont think disclosing cofidential information about the Club addresses the actual or perceived doing the right things. Can you provide concrete examples of where members have been ignored. Would a one liner from the Board stating that "The contents of the reports are being considered by the Board in the Club's best interests" Would that make you feel as a member less ignored? The media are not in the know. And you are speculating as much as the media and establishing as little as they do as fact.
  6. I have tried to stay out of this thread as what has to be said has been said ad nauseam. But that response made me LOL. You have a dark side Daisy that you should have dealt with. And while I am at it.....you are fighting the sensible fight rpfc. Right on the nail's head. The perpetual negativity of some posters on this forum is the grreatest downer MFC faces.
  7. So what solutions do you propose to do? How are you differentiating yourself from the members? You are just wailing and whinging behind an anonymous nom de plume on a public forum Why will "rock the board" impact the members as they will continue to be "too accepting for way to long."?
  8. I think its a mixture of both. Walker could have commanded a spot on his own. If that was the case why is that they only seemed to select two ruckman each year? Surely Mumford deserves a guernsey as one of the key drivers of the Swans.
  9. Can you name them? Whats your solution beyond wailing "We're doomed, we're crap"? What would you do to change things? I will back plausible thoughtful solutions. But to date I have not seen any from you old dee. I am not sure what benefit plastering the past 50 years on the current situation does. The issues that have plagued us over past decades are necessarily the issues that confront us now. I look forward to your plan for the way forward and come on lets rock the board NOW!
  10. Walker does not play the small forward role. He is more akin to Jeremy Howe mid size type. Played better than Howe. For the record, Andrew Walker, Jeremy Howe are 190 cm. Betts is 173cm and Milne is 178cm. Different players, Different roles.
  11. I am sorry you think of yourself as a tip site WYL. How is your blog going if you dont like being challenged for your comments on a forum? M Murphy plays midfield and would be considered against other midfielders. Betts plays small forward. Its out of he and Milne for the role.
  12. He does not have to be but Betts has still had a creditable season with 45 goals. he gets a reasonable nomination but I dont think he will make the final 22. See if you can move beyond the banal black and white on issues and you might surprise yourself. Go on ...try it.
  13. For the record, I thought MFC would win 8 to 9 games and finish 13th. It was always going to tough given: 1. Younger list than previous years. 2. Need to continue to blood and develop young players 3. Injuries mounting in the pre season. 4. Green and Jamar need to back up huge 2010 and even improve on it. 5. Scully to GWS issue was mounting. 6. Bailey in his last year of his contract with the issue of the above 5 points. 7. D'land and other supporters with unrealistic expectations of final 8 and higher. However what I did not expect: 1. The extent of injuries and to critical players. 2. The collapse of the leadership group and lack of contribution from them 3. The off field carp with Stynes inability to fulfill his functions, Schwab also, fallout from the Junior and the Scully issues. 4. The circus undertaken by the FTI Board leading up to and after the Geelong game. 5. The extent of the blowouts - This was always going to be coffin nail for DB
  14. Ah Roost it, I am not gonna say I told you so.....oh stuff it.. I told you so. If you were also high fiving at the start of the year you really have dropped into a hole old dee!!
  15. For what?? He has been injured all year and struggled when he came back. Betts - 45 goals as a small forward is very good going and had some stellar performances. Murphy has had a solid season off the HB line for WB. Both will struggle for the final 22 but both have had really good years. You are overdoing the theatrics again WYL. Agree with that
  16. Why do you think other clubs will chase a showbag of ordinary NQRs from a bottom level club? Individually there not worth much. Together they are worth far less.
  17. We played Collingwood twice in 2010 and once in 2011. Be careful at just looking at headline attendance numbers.
  18. Well done. I didn't make things up. i thought of the two best defences in the AFL and wondered who there poor disposers are. They dont have any and I think thats Warnnocks problem. If teams are seeking to improvement he may be a compromise on that no matter how you hide them I think it six of one, half a dozen of the other with Warnock. I am not convinced he can play on the gorilla forwards and our agreed assessment of his liabilities makes him a punt at best. FWIW, I think only Geelong and Collingwood could "hide" a Warnock during the season but in the finals... And I am not sure Buckley could have been worse at MFC. He might look better at Collingwood but he averages down their skills considerably.
  19. ....as another player with below average foot skills??? The problem for Warnock was that he wasnt in the backline of players. But you are right, MFC will have to find better solutions to Rivers, Bartram and JoelMac coming out of defence. I am just wondering who the pure defenders are with below average foot skills at Geelong and Collingwood.
  20. This was always going to be a tough year. The list was younger than it had been for the past 2 years. We still needed to blood and develop Tapscott, Blease, Gysberts, Gawn and others. Green and Jamar had great years in 2010. Was it possible they could play better this season? It was always going to be a hard year. I predicted we would have 8 to 9 wins and finish 13th at the start of the year. There have been some positives and negatives this year no doubt. I still have alot of faith in the young players we have coming through. They have had a terrible introduction to AFL with little or no support from senior players. But with all hand wringing going on here, you would think we are back in 2007. There needs to be some sensible decisions in the off season re coaching and drafting. But both Essendon and WCE have shown that things can turn around quickly if you get all the pieces in place.
  21. Yes that was a back breaker for the Club wasnt it. Newton's resigning has been neither here nor there. A base level contract for player number 36 on our list who in the past two years has been rookied and only been used where we had a number of injuries to ruckman at the same time. Glad you sweat the really big stuff, reaper. A fair summation that will be missed by those that should be considering it the most.
  22. He will probably get a gig elsewhere through the PSD. In the current era which team plays a slower contested game? With the epmphasis on pressure on the ball carrier and most sides seeking to employ presses, Matty struggles when taken up the ground where his lack of pace will be exposed. Good luck to him with his future.
  23. Given we had Martin and Gawn to develop the point is moot especially at that cost. Hawks paid over the odds for the insurance of a tilt at the flag. We would to gazump their offer both in draft picks and money. I am happy where our big men are at. Its not where our problems are.
  24. No MFC won at this stage. We didnt pay too much for a player that has not delivered to date. Its not a matter of doing the deal its matter of not hocking the farm to do so.
  25. If he does not get the team stuff on his own volition, he cant be a leader. I am glad he has signed. I hope he is more consistent over the next 2 years than he has been. At 25/26, there are no more excuses. He needs to deliver big time.
