  1. Yes WCE would move heaven and earth for a player didn't play this year and was injured. You have to be kidding. The same questions over Morton are the same questions that were there last year.
  2. Yes WCE will surely go for a one sided deal like that. On 2011 form, Davey is soiled goods for a trade. His value is undermined by some critical flaws at the moment.
  3. Great stuff about Blease. He has many of the attributes that this side is lacking. He is part of the exciting young group we have going forward. I look forward to 2012
  4. It will be interesting to see how many MFC players are cleared to play with Casey in the finals. Good to see Fitzy get 4 goals. A glimpse of 2012??
  5. Agree meritorous win at the Cattery. They won all four quarters. A win to remember.
  6. And how does that improve the list? Most of over 28s have no market value. Have you good some more incisive thoughts about the list?
  7. Freo arent one of the lower clubs. They have been decimated by injury throughout the year. They dont have there trump out there in Pavlich. But gee arent Collingwood a discipline well drilled side..... The Pies have been flat the last few weeks. Now as they start to focus on September, the real class shows. And if you stretch the salary club rules across all aspects of a club then what incentive is there for a club to improve its financial position to improve resources to win a flag. All you do is drag the good clubs back to the standards of the lower clubs.
  8. What does an option of 3 years mean after the 1st 3 years? Who exercises the option? If it not the Club then its mug clause. Just give him 3 years and negoatiate in the final year for a further term then. If it was MM, i agree you would make it 5 years.
  9. I wouldnt offer Jurrah. I think he would be great playing beside a fit Gumbleton. You could offer Davey but they may adopt the one Davey is enough policy. I am not sure clubs would be chasing Davey atm
  10. Great footage package but his lack of on field time is disturbing
  11. The length of contract was not the issue at the Tigers. The term was legitimate for the type of rebuild they planned and the fact they wanted an experienced coach. They just chose a dud who already had serious question marks about his style and manner at his previous club.
  12. Not sure that he rejected a large GC offer at all. The resident D'land unoracle stated he had bought real estate on the GC which meant -he was saying a MFC. He is mid size forward (not tallish) who has had issues his defensive side of his game and his disposal. I actually thought in some games he had improved on some occassions but still goes missing for periods. Its depends whats on the other side of the deal.
  13. He isnt and its a massive overreaction. The game was lost on other factors. I am not sure supporters can rationally judge whether assistant coaches are actually doing their job well or not or even whether Royal is or isnt doing a good job. At the time we were recruiting an assistant coach it is not unusual that he be offered reasonable security of tenure. And 12 months definitely isnt that
  14. I am glad Sampi is turning it around. His off field situation is indeed sad and destructive and has been for some time. Some of the issues did not make it the Press but he has had his demons for some time. IMO he was more talented than Wonna and could really have been a player but his decent into his personal hell has been far darker and nastier than the difficulties Wonna has had to deal with.
  15. I guess we wont hear anything until the Saints finals campaign is done. I think it would be poor form if it were done before then. Agree. Having followed the Demons since not long after their last flag, some of the football served up in the past 5 years(and I know some of the reasons) has been putrid. I didn't realise after the empty loss to StK at the MCG on a Friday in Rd 1 2007 would be the start of 5 years of on field misry often coupled with bouts of off field lunacy.
  16. Only because I deal with someone who behaves like a child. And I would never tell you how you think as I am quizzical as to whether you do sometimes. I responded to your comment some days ago: You have squirmed when I rightly pointed out that CEO should be on the panel. Now you are big into was Quartermain the source. Who gives a flying one? Whether Qmain was or wasnt correct does not matter. Its been well canvassed in the media by Caro and other journos in some detail than leading up to the Geelong game that Schwab was going to be sacked by the Board. His position is tenuous. He does not have the Board's support. It fits in line that Schwab would be looking to leave. Its a matter of time in his last year of contract. It does not change the role he has to play while he is CEO. And whether Quartermain is right or wrong is irrelevant. Until Schwab resigns or is sacked then he fulfils the role of CEO and that means he should be in the chair for the appointment of crtical roles. And if you are not going to have the CEO on the selection panel based on a Quartermain rumour then you should sack Schwab now because you are creating a lamer CEO than you have now. Its not a matter of you making anything clearer WYL. Its the case that when you get held accountable for comments you make on the site (often silly ones) you spend time responded as though you are trying to slip the topic or becoming petulantly melodramatic in mock outrage when you are pinned....much like a child. And it fools no one but yourself.
  17. Its likely that this issue, the potential departure of the CEO and the Head of the FD and the coach appointment will be media fodder and we need to harden up.
  18. Great idea. Uh oh Sylvia got himself suspended for a cheap shot off the ball. What a leader.
  19. Irrelevant. And you werent interested in that before you stated he should not pick the coach. Its unlike you to get sucked in by rumours. If he is the CEO he stays on the coaching sub committee. Basic common sense.
  20. On the Essendon site they have him as 197cm/97cm. Hardly too light. The criticism of him reflects leg strength not weight. I would have thought his fitness for AFL and not his weight was a problem Other AFL footballers..... Fletcher 198/92 Ryder 196/92 Hurley 193/92 Reid 195/91 Richards 193/92 Kozi 197/93 Dawson 195/95 Gilbert 194/90 At 22 he could still build muscle tone and body mass. Its his fitness for AFL that is the issue.
  21. Not a basis for keeping him on the senior list. He fights for rookie.
  22. Sampi had more control over the kitchen implement than Wonna had over his fathers situation. Sampi's issues were very much in his control regime. Wonna's issues are not on a par. There are better analogies for Wonna than Sampi.
  23. Stan Alves and Ron Barassi are too long in the tooth for the modern game. One of the directors is on a consulting basis. Have no issue with the other two.
  24. Rubbish. No ifs if he is CEO then he should be there to exercise his duties. Unless he resigns he is the CEO and he should be on the selection committee.
  25. I would take him in a PSD but not trade.
