  1. Regardless of what sort of job he did, there is no doubt that Bailey was undermined from both within the MFC football executive and publicly through Jim's anointed successor in the football media. I cant contemplate even a half logical reason why a) he would be offered another role while any of the Board or senior executive are around. He lives with the 31 goal belting on his CV; and B) given he was treated so abysmally at the Club right up to the date of his sacking why he would accept any such role back at MFC. His post sacking behaviour not make public criticism is a mark of character and a realisation that the AFL world is small. It was not done to grease a role back at MFC. The comment bolded is typical of your statements that have no factual substance to them.
  2. I have to wonder if you actually understand them. He did do the Board's bidding to the letter and in 2011 they sacked him with a late night phone call after both Lyon and Schwab had publicly criticised him. I cant see Bailey wanting to return nor any of the current Board or admin wanting him back. It is really odd you think he will return. Extremely odd but in character.
  3. Can you name the MFC players or officials who have stated that that they abide by the "near enough is good enough" doctrine? i would have thought it was more a case in the past 4 to 5 years that we are "not near enough because we were not good enough yet" given the huge turnover in the list and the immaturity of the talented younger players.
  4. JoelMac is a midsized defender. He and Warnock play seperate roles. Both Davis and McDonald (Tom) play more KPF. JoelMac is competing with the Grimes, Strauss type players. He is not a replacement for Rivers, Chippa or Garland. EIther Neeld sees a role for him or JoelMac is delisted.
  5. Could not disagree more. The last sentence is a clanger too.
  6. Maybe Newton, Miller, Dunn and Bate have reached the zenith of their football ability. Miller is honest but limited and was so under a number of coaches. By the time Mahoney got to coach Newton he already had big question marks in core areas. Dunn and Bate have underperformed or performed to their ceiling under a number of coaches. Mahoney had an uphill battle given the lack of mature forward talent and an incredibly young side to have an effective forward. It beat me how posters can make definitive judgements on the performance of assistant coaches when they would not have a clue as to their actual role input, responsibiilties and accountabilities.
  7. Not fussed over JoelMac. Honest but a fringe player at best. I see him warming the bench for others coming through. Bottom level 1 or 2 year contract if at all. Definitely not a must keep IMO
  8. Good pick up Fan. I am not sure if he is a good pick up or not. Nor do any posters unless you are in tight with Neeld and the FD. Also I cant work out how you can make any rational judgement of someone as a coach based on their career as a player. Clarkson was a borderline journeyman who is a credentialled coach. Watson, Harvey and Voss were greats as players but have been largely underwhelming as coaches. And if playing career is anything to go by, Neeld is fail. Its clear that Neeld is well recognised as an MM assistant.
  9. Definitely a waste of money and a low light. They should have teamed Meatloaf with Plugger for a proper AFL connection.
  10. Use "many filth fans" as a source is as sound as using Big Footy. And its naive to think that Collingwood did not have someone in Neeld's role when he left. I am glad the Pies lost and if Neeld's departure did actually have something to do with it then great.
  11. You're sweating the small stuff Exorcist. Do you realise where he was before he joined MFC? Hmmm
  12. And you give out a gratuity to Brad Green. Amazing. Well done. He is over 30yo and I am not sure why he deserves more than one year after 2011. Front loading makes no sense either
  13. Hyperbole at best. "Yes he didn't deserve a game"..... Hmmm.
  14. Great summary Bob of Davey's disposition coming into 2012. Its not so much what is around Davey that has to change its Davey himself. Ball is in his court. Another year like last year and the game will have passed him by.
  15. I would have expected that Neeld will have a plan that be for the ultimate success of the team and Davey would show the maturity and capability to contribute positively toward team success. Its a good point about what you say about structure and discipline. Davey showed little of that this year. He was embarrassing. He needs to get his head right as much as his body if not more. Davey's year was appallingly bad and his behaviour on the field was cheap, immature and selfish. He needs to concentrate on his football and he not a leaders bootlace. He cannot afford any more 2011 like performances in 2012. He burned alot of credits this year. Time is ticking. Moloney is a flat track bully that monsters weak and immature midfields and get spotted for lack of class against top opposition. We need the younger class in our midfield to usurp the standard Beamer achieves. I dont Davey or Green's years had a notable impact on Beamer. The absence of Jamar at times robbed Moloney of any oxygen at times.
  16. Cutting a guy who was drafted two years at pick 50 is a hard decision?? Hell, you wont cope with serious choices. I can only think your straw poll was amongst 4 people and you were one of voters. Do you ever read your posts? Maybe because as a junior his laziness was attributed to CFS. I am not sure what "rocket": you refer. Are you referring to issues with his training? Care to spill the beans? There you go Redleg, Accepting mediocrity again. Why wait for a dropped mark or missed pass? We need to make tough decisions!! Minf you on that criteria we might only have 7 on the list left after the first training session and six of those would be missing in rehab.
  17. Proven quality VFL footballer that did not make the grade in AFL. Pass.
  18. Didn't Stynes announce in May that he was taking over the football department? If so, Stynes should have/would have been the one to make any announcments. He was front and centre in the media when it was done. Its normally Stynes still to control the media releases when he is hands on.
  19. It was obvious that with the appointment of a new coach in Neeld that there was going to be a change of the assistant coaches. The departures of West, Willliams and Hocking are not surprises as all were out of contract. Royal has an existing contract and is likely to stay unless MFC are prepared to pay his contract out. It is interesting that Mahoney has been kept as football manager and Cuddles is moving into the commercial side of the club. Who is Cuddles replacing or this another non football appointment on the Club payroll. The only thing I am sure of in this process is as a member/supporter who is not involved in the inner sanctum of the Club I cant make a knoweldgeable judgement on which assistant coaches have performed and which haven't. Neither can other posters unless its a guess or a punt.
  20. *Face Palm* How about they do us the favour first and foremost. Even more straightforward and the bleedin obvious.
  21. Can you name at least some of them given there are plenty of them? I thought the reaction to Neeld has been very positve across the Board.
  22. Indeed Rpfc. There is alot of grey in these situations and presumptions made by some poster reflect adversely on them only. Gerard Whately mention on ABC radio that Lyon had instructed his management to undertake contract negotiations with St Kilda while behind their backs negotiating with Freo. ESP were in active mnegotiations with St K. If that is a true account of the facts then I change my view on Lyon. Geez thats bad ethics. I can only think karma on him for you reap what you sow. Cant say I admire the guy for running a bad faith goose chase.
