I actually think the club pushed Frawley out the door with a low-ball contract offer, knowing that pick 3 was on the table as compo. And I agree that Frawley was fully invested in the club, but knew the writing was on he wall. The comment that Roos made is hypocritical and out of touch with reality.

It's not just the distance that Dunn kicks that's impressive, but the power and accuracy. It's the best way to dismantle a forward press by the opposition. I think the Dunn haters are being disingenuous with their assessment of Dunn's kicking on Sunday. We had Bernie Vince in the backline for a large part of the season, and I always thought that he was one of the best kicks at the club. For the most part, his kicking was deplorable out of defence.

Not sure what relevance Minson has to your argument. I'd never play Spencer as the no.1 ruckman for that very reason. As for the Dogs key defenders, due to injury, Beveridge has played those that he's had at his disposal. Morris, Hamling and Adams have all been played as stay at home defenders. He obviously saw the need in that area when he started the job because he's brought in Hamling and Adams since he arrived.

Agree. Reminds me of the Bailey era when we stamped the papers of certain players and played kids who turned out to be rubbish. Goodwin should take a leaf out of the Beveridge coaching manual and allow the players to play to their strengths. Dunn has far more ability than O. Mac and Frost. Pick 48 for him is a waste.

If Oscar Mac wasn't on our list, was there anything that you saw of him at VFL level that made you think he'd be an AFL quality kpp? I see more AFL attributes in Keilty and McInerney than I do in O Mac and Spencer.

In 1929, Collingwood got smashed in the 2nd semi, but still went straight through to the GF (avoided the prelim) because they were minor premiers. I think our defensive zone changed in the 2nd half of the year, and we had someone sitting back. For mine, that's a perfect role for Dunn.

When kicking skills are a premium in the modern game, I still can't understand why Dunn can't be utilised somehow in a backline that consists of Frost and the Mac brothers. He seemed to have his cards marked, but hopefully that was a Roos issue rather than Goodwin. If he seeks a trade, he'd have more currency than any other player outside our best 22.

Either Freo or WCE will have to give up a decent pick to acquire Brad Hill. Hawks need this pick to be part of O'Meara, Mitchell and Vickery deals. Just can't see how either club can satisfy us with draft picks.

Acquiring Hogan at his age is hardly going against Freo's rebuild philosophy. Hogan could be a one in a generation player. You really think they'd pass up on him for an unproven high draft pick and a handy player?

We must have been watching a different game. He did nothing in the ruck, and when the ball is kicked high in his vicinity, he can't read the flight of the ball to get in a position to mark. I'd rather have either of Footscrays's ruckmen in Minson or Campbell as back up to Gawn. Baffling decision to give him a 1 year extension mid year.

Roughead is a massive loss to their team, and with his playing future in doubt, they won't win a flag with their forward structure. And Vickery won't solve the problem.

No I didn't. My response to DubDee was about his whinge about good players going to top clubs under free agency. His post had nothing to do with Marchbank. As I pointed out later, SOS' relationship with GWS players is the reason for Marchbank's move. MFC and 16 other clubs were never in the hunt. FWIW, I think that Marchbank will be a good player, but I don't consider him an A grader, nor did I consider him to be a targeted player by us. But I stand by my belief that we are not a destination club.

Short memory. They pumped us in round 22. And unless you've been living under a rock, GWS are flag favourites and Carlton are the lowly club. Carlton have been into Marchbank for some time, so it's no surprise. The day we become a destination club, nobody here will be complaining when good players nominate us. Until that day arrives, suck it up, because the trading landscape has changed.

Laverde has re-signed with Bombers for 2 years, so his supposed self-confidence will not be an issue for some people on here.
