The Oscar McDonald Appreciation Thread
FireInTheBennelly replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Come on guys, he's a young key position player. They need time, don't ya know! -
I think I'm finally broken. For the first time I can remember, I can't actually give a [censored]
-
Thanks for the memories, Simon
-
I could almost cry
-
Something isn't right here. Why was the clock no running then?
-
So is our coach
-
Sweet. the power move at half time was to throw Oscar forward and team instructions to bomb it high into the 50. What could possibly go wrong?
-
A bit scary when you can't beat a team that's tanking
-
I've got one. The Melbourne Fuchsias
-
Who's responsible for getting the team to perform?
-
That might give us a chance. Sydney changing their tactics is our only hope, because sure as [censored] we won't change ours.

The Oscar McDonald Appreciation Thread
FireInTheBennelly replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I cannot believe people defend this bloke. Bog ordinary, not up top it. -
The protected area rule has to go. It's just too inconsistently applied. Cripps just strolls right through the area, nothing. If you're unable to adjudicate it consistently, the rule has to go.
-
The umpiring gave him the [censored]?

I can see Rivers becoming an absolute star of the competition. He can defend and use it very well. But the thing that stands out for me, and goes way back even to pre-season games. The now 5 game veteran has made some kicking errors, but in no way shape or form does he let that get in his head. He'll turn around and go in just as hard, and again bite off another hard kick, this time to perfection. Can't remember which preseason game it was. He kicked a howler. Next kick, within a minute, pinpoint perfection. Got ourselves a goodun
-
Yeah sure, but how does he go with chopsticks?
-
Ominous sign right on 1/4 time. Max pinged for the ridiculous straight arm rubbish they crucify him with. Him and only him

Neil Balme potentially leaving Richmond
FireInTheBennelly replied to SFebes's topic in Melbourne Demons
In that case, when you've given up dishing out jolly good floggings, that'll be when Balme's time is up. Can't see it happening any time soon. Can you? -
VFL to Merge with NSW & QLD State League
FireInTheBennelly replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Even more ironic is how people decide these guidelines aren't for them so they go around ignoring them, which ends up in everyone in full lockdown. -

Some of those numbers say a couple of things to me. Firstly anyone who is still a member is going nowhere, it's pretty much the bare minimum considering what supporters have been through. Secondly, the $100k increase in memberships from one win over the Pies suggests there is a massive supporter base out there still following the club and ready to jump on board with sustained success. I reckon these numbers deserve a show of respect from the AFL and help move us up into the top bracket of power clubs. If we keep winning games this year and go deep into finals I'm holding out hope for a massive draw next year of prime time slots. 2021 Could be a huge year for us financially.

Fingers crossed. Mathematically though, they can still pinch 9th spot -

Micheal Long? Essendon? Should've stopped at the $1000 fine. Hell, Simmonds would've been made to apologise to Long in the current climate.
