The umps used to call out to the man on the mark 'back 2 metres' etc, but now they'll have to bring them exactly to the mark, as we know one step off that mark in any direction is a 50. So now it'll be back 2 metres, 1 metre right, further right, too far, a little to the left, inch right. That's it. Maybe we call it the JFK rule. Back and to the left.

This has the potential to make footy unwatchable with so many 50m penalties, but the big concern for me is it opens up another option for umpires to influence results. For example if they give one team half a second longer before calling play on after the player has actually played on, the ball carrier will be off and gone. There'll be no stats on it so it goes completely under the radar. Of all the rule changes over the last decade, this one has me the most concerned.

I think the upside is too good to not have a look at. What if Weids has a poor year and we decide it's time to pull the pin? He's worth a look. Obviously there's more to it than that, some serious medical assessments would be needed and we've got poor form in that department. It's a tough question but I don't think the idea should be written off without a long hard look.

I hope he doesn't follow the previous escape theory and jump off a bridge

2021 AFL Supplemental Selection Period.
FireInTheBennelly replied to cantstandyasam's topic in Melbourne Demons
Personally I'd be leaving a slot open for the mid season draft. There'll be more than one good player that slipped through the draft purely due to the circumstances. With half a season under their belt we'll have a better idea on talent. -

Thanks for your efforts Werridee, do you mind just checking again that it didn't go on to say ... However we do understand supporter sites such as Demonland offer a valuable service in providing additional information to our fans, and given the circumstances we'll endeavour to provide further information on our website, along the same lines of what's been seen on those sites. They may have forgotten to add that part. -

Another crazy solution being considered is to actually apply the rules that are in place for all clubs, even Collingwood.

Free kick against Trac for hands over the shoulder surely. Cut that crap out. -
It's quite possible the reason they haven't announced our preferred site, is that most of us will simply not like it.

Good to see Petty and Neita on the track day 1

Moving beyond the translucence of said jellyfish, perhaps Gil is best depicted by the protrusion on the right, and the apparent hollow 'sack' at it's base.

Perhaps Tasmania should have 2 head(quarters)

I finally agree with all those posters that said the footy department knows best.

So essentially no rule change for Shannon Hurn, but everyone else can do what he does? Or is he now allowed to run end to end?
