  1. We'll be right this quarter, we're running to the umpiring end.
  2. Did you miss the game on Wednesday?
  3. My eyes are going. I couldn't see a push in the back there
  4. They're changing their name in the offseason. Going to be known as the Richmond Squirrels.
  5. I see his first name was censored. Is the word 'Penis' censored?
  6. Does anyone recall the names of the 3 umpires that destroyed us last week? I do. They are the exact same 3 umpires we have today. I don't think I've ever seen that before. So essentially AFL house was pleased with their efforts last week, so it's only going to be far, far worse this week. We don't stand a chance in this game, and it's got nothing to do with our skills or effort, or even gameplan.
  7. I think we've played him in the wrong role. He's been the first target from the ruck, when he should be the last. Let the others have a crack first and if they get it wrong Clarrie will clean up the mess. If they get it right, get it out to him and he has more time and space. He's got a Brownlow in him, managed correctly. Umpires hate him, but they'll be taught a lesson.
  8. Out: Chris Donlon, Hayden Gavine, Paul Rebeschini In: Anyone not on work experience
  9. Billy not looking too flash either
  10. And Derwit has just explained why the sling tackle has become so 'standard'. The umpires paying ridiculous holding the ball frees has meant the ball carrier is desperate to get boot to ball when their arm is held, they lose control of their body. The tackler is desperate to prevent them from disposing of the ball and that is the best way to do it. Gil, you have [censored] this sport and put players lives at risk. I hope you get your ars sued to kingdom come.
  11. Have these umpires seen football before?
  12. This is how most coaches fail. They come up with a gameplan and then try to fit their players into roles. A successful coach will identify the perfect role for each player to utilise their skills/strengths, while working on their deficiencies. In the latter stages of a players career they will have gained enough ability and preparedness to play different roles. Fritsch backline, Brayshaw wing, Harmes backline. These are all examples of trying to push a player into an unsuitable role. Sure there may have been reasons for doing it, but it's not the way a successful coach goes about it. For mine you could even add Salem as a defender to this. He was an out and out mid, moved to the backline and is now stagnating. He could've been our perfect outside mid, but I doubt he'll ever get serious game time in that role.
  13. Heroes wear helmets!!! Harmes needs to be played back into form and stay there. He's the best tagger in the comp. Half back, no. Wing, no. HFF, no. Take the number 1 mid every week and let's see what happens. Hell, might even win a clearance.
  14. Can anyone put a clip together of Goodwin after the siren heading to the tunnel? The man is beaten. He has no answers. He's in way over his depth.
  15. I think you're all piling on the club without thinking. There's definitely a good reason for our misfortunes tonight, so I'm waiting on a fair and balanced appraisal of the game from @Satyriconhome

You're not reading it wrong DG. It's being adjudicated wrongly. It has been for years. Clever coaches from the Clarkson stable have exploited the poor adjudication for a decade, and only now, when Clarkson's side are poor, he's called it out. He wanted the loophole closed, however what's happened is an exaggeration of the poor interpretations. Players need to be coached to drop the ball at the slightest contact. Far less likely to give away a free. No, it's not football, but that's how they want it played. [censored] Gil
  17. So does that mean it was a skill issue or decision making?

Seeing the leg-ups the AFL have been giving GCS, I really see them doing everything they can to prevent that from happening. Within the rules or otherwise.

I couldn't help but thinking Heffernan was still on the Bummers payrole when he played with us.
  21. Does Jonno Brown still live in QLD? Can we get him COVID cleared and working with Weid while we're up there?
  22. I lost count how many other times a player took possession and was immediately tackled - and made absolutely zero attempt to dispose. But all of a sudden prior opportunity kicked in again.
  23. Definitely Rodge. He was average last year and to be able turn it around under the circumstances is a massive effort.
  24. Yep. we're currently the easiest team to play against for a decent coach. Apply basic pressure and stand around waiting for us to hand it over to you.
