Good on him! 6ft 4, 229 pounds & runs 40 yard dash in 4.43 seconds... That's some kind of athlete, be interesting to follow his progress. Falcons probably grabbed Keanu Neale a bit early at pick 17 but he wouldn't have been there by there 2nd round. Thought they'd go with a LB like Darren Lee but safety is a spot they needed to address also. Seems like they've gone for Quinn's "fast & physical" style of play with the players they've picked. Read a few articles saying his trying to create his on Legion of Boom.. See how that pans out. Suprised we didn't take a QB, they got Matt Schuab to back up Matt Ryan but thought they might think long term and pick one up. I'm already hanging out for the season!

There is Melbourne training jumpers & beanies, might even have been home & away jumpers too but I didn't notice it at first but their on there somewhere!

Awesome deal.. Got $1200 worth of stuff for $360!

Wouldn't be suprised to see Garland back in this week. We were undermanned down back last week. Michie is logical replacement for Salem as his played that half back role at casey and done well. May need to drop one of Frost or Pedersen as the Gold Coast will run us off our feet, I'd keep Pedersen as he provides a greater aerial threat & ruck option & actually kicks goals when he has a shot.. Gawn should be able to bounce back and dominate he inexperienced Currie and give our mids first use

Jack Viney's square off on Rance
JV7 replied to Vandenberger With The Lot's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think he acknowledges it in his comments here post match. “A lot of my possessions didn’t come off today, but we followed up and that’s why I love it. It puts you in the contest, makes it exciting and we end up scoring.” Righto mate... Never said he had poor skills just his not elite by foot.. Yet -
I know we are only 5 rounds in and the last 2 wins have come against sides who are down & out but we still won them. Having a look at the ladder I honestly feel that only us & Adelaide are the 2 sides outside the 8 that can make it. Port Adelaide, Richmond & Collingwood are cooked. I reckon Gold Coast will drop out for Adelaide.. Leaving a spot for us to take.. Maybe GWS ? The exciting thing is we are in the conversation. Really think us and & Adelaide are the only 2 out of it who can make it

Jack Viney's square off on Rance
JV7 replied to Vandenberger With The Lot's topic in Melbourne Demons
Viney is a dead set beast... Never seen a Melbourne player attack the footy like he does. He is a bull at a gate. Fast becoming my favorite player.. He'll never have the sublime skills of an elite midfielder but he knows this and plays within his limitations... I knew he'd take the next step this year, quickly becoming an A grader. Love how he flies the flag, last week when Toovey pushed Tyson into the post he was first in their. Absolutely love jack, one player you'd want to go to war with! -

When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
JV7 replied to praha's topic in Melbourne Demons
When was the last 3 win streak...2006 ? Although don't expect a win next week. "Home" game at etihad makes me sick, if it was at the G different story! -
Also have an inside word.. Delideo to miss. I wouldn't mind him playing though. Him and Maric both seriously underdone would be good especially with interchange cap
-
Gees it's exciting.. Haven't had the feeling of waking up on the day of a game looking forward to a game that has some relevance since 2006 I reckon! Big stage, MCG, fighting to stay in the hunt around the 8, going for back to back wins, can really make it hard for the Tiges to make the 8 from a 1-4 start. Exciting stuff.. Like others have said we'll know for real if this clubs turned the corner tonight

Why would he sign now ? He's contracted for just under 2 years of footy... The players CBA is coming up, he might come out and kick 60 goals this year and 70 next year... His worth will go up, he'd be doing himself a disservice by signing now for less than what he could, especially if it's going to be a long term deal. He'd want to get it right

Has played every game bar round 1 last year since he arrived.. Unacceptable by a senior player. Huge loss in a crucial game
-
Also just watched the last 20 seconds for the first time. I'm sure it's been mentioned on here but should have Stretch just snapped on his left ? If only it was Kent or another left footer on the end of it!!
-
Having watched it for second time on slow mo.. He definitely missed so I reckon it's worth a reprimand or a fine. Although I think he may have carry over points from an incident last year.. Anyone recall that ?
-
Bernie threw an elbow to the throat of Macmillan in the 3rd quarter. Was late and high contact.. The replay I saw initially I thought he was in trouble but haven't seen a replay since. Think he may miss the collingwood game, anyone else see the incident ? thoughts
-
Yeah I was always of the view of the player with the ball was "in play" like how Goldstein was after playing on, touching the post ment a behind. I thought I could recall times a player has touched the behind post and it being called for a throw in ? Maybe I'm wrong and making it up haha. But I thought it was a point once he touched the post!

Kent did kick 4... He was poor in other areas but doubt he'd be dropped after that. Harmes was there abouts again, did enough. Frost is not a footballer, drops easy marks, doesn't provide much in the ruck. Having said that he is been played out of position. Needs to go back to Casey and play down back. But dropping him again really is ridiculous.. What's the point in dropping him one week picking him the next. Vanders needs to lift. Petrecca isn't ready. We may go in unchanged
-
I get where your coming from. I had this mentality during the Bailey/Neeld/early Roos era but for me not anymore, nothing but a win is good enough especially after last week...
-
No, only a win will suffice. The Honorable loss days are gone
-
100% spot on... We'll see what this group is made of today and see if they can back up all the talk about the improvement we've made and change of culture around the club. As typical Melbourne we should know within in the first 5 minutes which Melbournes shown up.. (Hells Bells just came on in the gym as I'm writing this.. Has to be sign )

Well obviously your still going to have 1 on 1 match ups. Your not going to pick a defense full of mid size running defender when there key forwards to be manned. Just because sides play a zone defense doesn't mean there still isn't 1 on 1 contests.
-
The modern game is all about turning the footy over in your forward half.. So if your defenders are pushing up the ground and putting pressure on the kicker and forcing a turn over in your half of the ground, it shouldn't matter what's out the back. What happened with us against GWS and even worse against Essenson, we couldn't force these turn overs and if sides get easy transition it leaves you open out the back (whe you see a N.Jones one on one with Daniher inside 50) which is what's happened to us in the first 2 weeks. I think the GWS game in the last quarter we got our hands on the footy for one and two GWS ran out of run to exploit it

There is not a chance in the world that Jetta will line up on Petrie at any point in the game unless whoever is on Petrie has been caught out during play. To say Jetta will line up on Petrie at a centre bounce is farcical.. Yes sides play a zone defense but that doesn't mean you have a 180cm Jetta lined up on a 197cm Petrie. I dont think Garland would have any extra advantage in the conditions because he grew up in Tasmania.. Wet and cold conditions are wet and cold conditions regardless whether there in Tasmania, Victoria, Adelaide...

If Dunn doesn't come in this week I'll give it away. He has to play.. Petrie is his ideal match up. Oscar McDonald would be thrown to the wolves against the bodies of Petrie or Waite. Norths talls forwards do provide a tough task.. I've said it all along Frost needed to be played down back from day one but that didn't happen so we're a tall defender short. Dunn v Petrie T. McDonald v Brown Garland v Waite Jetta v Thomas Ideally Garland would get Thomas but he'll be forced to play tall on one of those big 3. Unless Frost is bought in and tried down back (don't see it happening) If I was Roos I'd be tempted to give last weeks team a shot at redemption. Not sure who makes way for Dunn, dropping Kent who I thought was appalling, especially defensively but that disrupts the balance a bit and his pace could exploit North if he decides to use it but that's the only change I would make IN: Dunn OUT: ??
