  1. Tim Lane lied on 3AW the [censored] said no late changes!!!!
  2. I said it in the preview thread.... Call me mad but I think we are a real chance today. I've said on this forum numerous times, I said at the start of the year we'd beat the Hawks once... The effort & performance last time means we wont be fearful of them today. I can sense that this young group just have this feeling of "todays the day we arrive". We were down last week so we should be up & about if our inconsistent form rings true. I can just see us clicking today, I dont know why... Dees by 11
  3. Find it strange they are likely to debut him in a game where Hogan from all reports seems like he will miss. Would have thought they'd like to play the 2 together so Hogan can protect him a bit... Guess we got concrete hands Dawes
  4. I had a feeling we'd push west coast... I had a feeling we'd struggle against gold coast I have a feeling we'll push the Hawks. 9 wins on the trot their due for a loss, 2 wins clear on top, one eye on september, playing a side they've bullied for 10 years- complacency sets in... All points to a Dees win. I thought at the start of the year we'd beat them once, we got close last time.. Saturday's the day.

Seems the young bloke has some issues... Strange his just dropped off the radar, you'd think someone would have raised the alarm before now. Dwight Freeney signed a one year deal with the Falcons, heres hoping he can improve our dreadful pass rush... Although not good to rely on a 36 year old.
  6. Yeah but obviously when you can see the writting on the wall it would be easy to just go through the motions & not give your all on game day. Regardless of what your getting paid most people who knew they would be sacked from their job for 12 months would be doing it half assed
  7. Obviously this is a joke....As Nunawading gets belted by 250+ points every week. Jokes aside, good on Terlich for fronting up the last 2 years knowing his careers over & has been a solid contributor to Casey lately... Hopefully he continues his form into the finals
  8. You mean did something happen to him 6 weeks ago... His been very poor since the QB game.
  9. We should win this & win well but the Melbourne supporter in me is worried... A trip to Darwin & Perth within 3 weeks in tough conditions, a young side tiring towards the end of the season... Please don't lose.

No suprises there really is there... Surely Goff will be the #1 when they release the first depth chart & given first crack at training camp & pre season games ?
  11. Whilst yesterday is frustrating we have to take the positives. We DOMINATED last year's runners up (albeit not as good this year) on their home deck where they have an average winning margain of 63 points. Yes 4 points and a win is what you play for but you dont always have to win to be winners. Coming off the back of Darwin 2 weeks ago & traveling again yesterday was a massive effort from a young side late in the year. Yes I am as annoyed, angry & frustrated like the rest of you but we have to look at the bright side. Theres a saying that goes: "There are winners, there are losers and there are people who have not yet learned how to win yet." That is us right now
  12. Well if we continue to get the ball inside 50 we will eventually start to score. The eagles defence can't keep on defending. The thing is we haven't capitalised on our dominance
  13. Just had a read of the West Coast board... They are a little nervous. Think Gawn & our midfield will get on top but their defence will shut us down. It's an interesting point. We should have the edge at centre bounces & like the Adelaide game if we get on top we are hard to stop & inturn it'll restrict the WC forwards. If we are smart going forward & dont bomb it in long for the likes of McGovern, Mckenzie, Sheppard & Hurn to pick off we are a chance. Big open ground should suit the likes of Stretch, Kent, Hunt, Harmes, Petracca. If we can beat them on the inside & get our running game going we can win. The game will be won or lost in the midfield & WC midfield isnt too scary EDIT:Wouldn't be surprised to see McGovern a late out with his thumb, Schofield was dropped and is usually best 22.
  14. Am I mad for thinking for some reason we are a real chance today ?
  15. I dont know why considering West Coast record at home & our terrible record over there but I have a feeling we'll be in this game up to our ears... Reckon they are gettable if we bring our A game... Having said that I can see us been 5 goals down at QRT time aswell
  16. I dont really get this if it is the case. Even if he comes out and kicks 20 goals in the last 6 weeks (im just as likely to do that from the ponsford stand) we know what he provides... and that is sweet FA. Different with a bloke like ANB who is young & should be given a run to prove his up to it. Dawes on the other hand, we know what we're going to get & it's not great
  17. Pity even with the concrete statue Dawes inclusion he'll still be one out & yes Spencer in would of allowed Watts to play 100% forward & Gawn to play 60% ruck 40% forward
  18. The old reverse jinx.. Seems legit
  19. Roos stated in his presser were likely to bring Dawes back, ANB is in the mix & Oliver likely another week in VFL. Why the f*** would we bring Dawes back, didnt even play in the VFL last week. Would much prefer to reward Spencer & play two rucks. Allowing Watts to stay permenant forward & Gawn to play more forward aswell...

Just read that officially the only Gamepass package avaliable this season is the full package at $260.. Previous years I have just got the Falcons games for around $130. Seems like I'll have to pay the $260 for the full package if I want to watch Falcons games. You do get all games & all playoffs but I wont watch many other games & playoffs are free on fox & 7mate so seems $260 is a rip off!
  21. How could I forget that qualifying final in 2000.. That is top 5 for me for sure
  22. 1. Being in Brisbane to see us beat Brisbane in 2002 when Lions were in their prime. Brisbane kick the first 7 goals to 1, Brisbane lady sitting next to us "you didnt come all the way from Melbourne to see this?" we come back and win by 21 points on the back of 7 goals to Neita.. 2. 2006 Elimination final vs St.Kilda 3. 2005 Vs Bulldogs round 21 ? 20 points down with 5 minutes to go. Jeff White kicks the winner with seconds to go. Neahle Daniher storming down through the crowd fist pumping (almost tear up thinking about it). 4. 2000 qualifying final vs Carlton 5. Round 17 2010 vs Sydney Thinking of these times just wants us to have success so much more
  23. 10 wins was my pass mark at the start of the season. 7 last year was a pass. I doubt we will get to 10 this year though. We SHOULD beat GC & Carlton to make it 9 & I honestly think thats a failure. When you take into account we've beaten sides we should have.. Collingwoood twice & Richmond both whom we beat last year. GC in the middle of their form slump. Brisbane the worse side since us in the Neeld years. We got the Giants at the right time. Last year we beat the Dogs & Cats which were good wins... Unless we knock off a good side in the run home I wont be all that happy with this season. The one thing I will give them credit for is the 10 goal + losses are gone & we have been more exciting to watch & play a quicker brand of footy.. IF we had of beaten Essendon & St.Kilda once and sat on 9 wins atm I'd be happy, obviously thats not the case...
  24. Interesting, I dont think this has been mentioned on here yet http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/teams/melbourne/melbourne-midfielder-angus-brayshaw-sheds-four-kilograms-for-afl-return/news-story/661ecd77c52a35d78c556079306a4191
