Seems a bit silly naming this game as sort of a statement game but we need to come out from the start and make a statement. 7 or 8 goals to 0 in the first 30 minutes and go on with it for a big win. This is the sort of game that we are used to dropping, huge opportunity to go 2-0 and set the season up from here. Gawn should dominate an underdone Leuenberger. I wasn't too keen on the trade when it happened but his NAB form and round 1 performance have him changing my mind. He's got pace and toughness which we lack... His two intercept efforts were enormous, the first resulted in Garletts goal and the second was in the middle of the ground when a GWS player switched it into the middle and Kennedy came from nowhere to spoil and create a turnover at a critical time. It's silly to compare him and Howe because there different players but I doubt we would have seen those 2 efforts from Howe... Having a look through Kennedys previous year stats he was a victim of the sub rule, seems when he played full games he did alright. Looking forward to what else he can produce

IN: Dunn, Brayshaw OUT: O.McDonald(inj), Frost Wouldn't be suprised if Brayshaw is made to play a full game with casey. If not Frost or Pedersen makes way, think Pedersen gets the nod due to his back up ruck ability. Harmes deserves another game after a good preseason. Tyson on notice.

Watched a bit of them throughout the NAB challenge and I've been fairly impressed with them.. Definitely wouldn't be penciling in round 1 as a win, Cameron out would be a huge plus but we"ll be up against it

As far as knees go it's probably best case but the timing is not ideal. This just puts him back 4 weeks behind everyone else.. Rather then having match fitness built up over the NAB challenge, it'll be round 5-6 before his match fitness is in prime condition.. It is what it is though!

Just have to look back at the game against Geelong in 2014... It was in the back half of the year and they were what... 13 goals to 2 up at half time or there abouts. If I told you walking out of the G that day.. "in 12 months time we'll beat Geelong in Geelong, on the day of one of their greats 300th, with a couple of best 22 players out" you'd think I was on drugs... Like I and so many others have said in other threads over the pre season, we just need to close the gap between our best and worst. Our best is capable of beating sides from outside and around the top 4 but our worst can see us lose to the bottom side. But that's what a young side does... The thing that I'm intrested to see is will the likes of Vince, Jones, McDonald, Garland, Jetta be able to improve there games to another level. I think it's safe to save we'll see the likes of brayshaw, VDB, Tyson, viney etc go up a notch but can our mid to older crop take the next step aswell..

Just watched the 30 for 30 on the Bears 1985 season.. Awesome doco! Only problem was the sound in the last 5-6 minutes went out on the clip i watched through YouTube which seemed pretty emotional viewing so wouldn't recommend watching that version.. If anyone finds another version, post the link so I can watch the last 5 minutes with sound ??

Just watched the highlights for the first time since watching it live... Anyone see Cam Newton effort on that Von Miller forced fumble ? He went to dive after it and then pulled out of the contest so to speak. I know quarterbacks aren't ment to be in and under but when your down 16-10 deep in opposition territory surely you dive on that ball no matter what. Seemed a pretty soft effort to me

Panthers 27 - Broncos 20 We all think the same really... If the Broncos defense shows up like the AFCC game then they are a real chance. Panthers have been getting off to fast starts all year so will be interesting to see if they can get the jump early, their 2nd halves have been fairly average lately. Anyone else taken the day off Monday ? I couldn't stand not been able to watch it live! Also, who is everyone barracking for ? I'm a bit torn, don't really want a divison rival to win it but I would like to see a new team take it out... Don't think I can cheer for a div rival

Will be interesting to see how we go with the 2nd ruck option.. For me Dawes is not a capable 2nd ruck unless his worked hard over pre-season. If Frost plays down back then I doubt it would be him, don't see too many key defenders as relieving ruckmen. Leaves Pedersen which i think is the way to go.. His provides a better marking option then Dawes up forward and does a better job in the ruck. With the new interchange caps will be interesting to see how teams tackle the 2nd ruck whether they go with a dedicated back up or a pinch hit forward/ruck

I think he Panthers are the better side on both sides of the ball... Broncos D is on fire, the way Miller & Ware are going they are more than more capable of causing Newton some problems... But I think the Panthers have more options on offense. Surely this will be Peyton's swansong ? In the end I think it'll come down to the Broncos D vs Cam & the Panthers Offense because I reckon the Panthers D can hold Peyton & the offense

Happy to see Brady & the Pats miss out... Denvers D is unreal, from the highlights I saw looked as though Brady was under pressure all day. Combine Denvers Defense and the Pats poor O-Line the result isn't suprising.. Although I think we all tipped the Pats haha. The Panthers offense just keep on putting up points and the defense keep on turning the ball over. Where do the Cards go with Palmer from here ? 4 INT's & 2 fumbles, not good enough for a QB of his experience. He was poor last week too... He might just be one of those players not up to the big stage. Now onto the SB, thankfully I've taken the day off and heading to a SB party
