  1. Gee the shredder at windy hill and whatever the new training base is called, i think its "the Lab" has had a fair work out. I think it would be due for a major service.
  2. Once again they either thought they were above the rules or there was a major oversight. Im thinking the latter as they did lodge paperwork the day before the draft but who knows how long they had, IF, they had been training with them.
  3. Did anyone else see that essendon could be in hot water again due to them allowing potential draftees train with them before the draft without registering them? http://www.news.com.au/sport/afl/essendon-under-afl-scrutiny-for-having-draft-candidates-train-without-permission/story-fnelctok-1226770470421 (i dont know how to make the link look pretty)
  4. OR..... How much is Mitch tearing it up at training... He must be going so hard his shoes cant keep up.....
  5. All this waiting for the draft to come is starting to annoy me. I think the build up this year has felt to me longer and more drawn out. As for pick 9, Im not to fussed as i havnt followed the U/18s comp, being away from the football scene up here in Canberra. All i have to go on is what is posted on here and on the AFL updates but i guess we will see tonight after the first 8 picks have been named then Roos and co will pick what they feel will be the best fit for what we need/want out of whats left. I think we have already won with this draft period. Hogan would have gone in the pointy end of the draft and to have secured him last year and then get Tyson and pick 9 (etc) for our pick 2 (etc) gives us 2 pics in the top 10. I think whoever we pick up at 9, 40 and 57 will have the best chance, with the new football department, of being developed into a AFL footballer. It is essentially a lottery in the end. Being a U/18 superstar doesnt always translate into being a AFL superstar. We should know
  6. I cant remember where i heard it or if i read it on here, I heard that webjet were interested in jumping on board with the cats. Something about someone senior in webjet being involved/supporting Geeling and the fact the Ford ceasing production in Australia they might be scaling down their sponsorship of the cats. Not 100% where i got this from tho.
  7. I grew up in Romsey and i know there are a lot of Melbourne supporters there but i spent a few years in Ascot Vale and it was always interesting to see other melbourne supporters out and about in that area.
  8. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/the-club/sponsors/sponsor-matrix We have a lot of sponsors that offer us some pretty good discounts too
  9. This is sort of on the topic. I have been chasing up a Royal Blue and red jumper. I had one when i was growing up but i outgrew it and i have lost it somewhere in my many moves. does anyone know of anybody that sells a jumper of this type?
  10. You could know me down with a feather with that news, SEN Wrong about something... who would have guessed with the fine track record they sport.....
  11. Well done to all those involved at the MFC on securing a new major sponsor for the next few years. The images they have put up already look good and i cant wait to see the final product on the backs of our boys next year. I do feel for the marketing people down at the MFC. I think they will be wokring long hours to change all the "My heart beats true" ads/pictures.
  12. i agree with this. I train in it and wear my jumpers a fair bit and to be honest. i have never noticed the the collar to the point where it became annoying. Its different but i dont think it would be a factor in not playing decent football
  13. IF they did get banned from ASADA/WADA (im not saying i think it would happen). Wouldnt the AFL have a interesting time with the ANZAC and Dreamtime rounds also the essendon supporters would be very angry.. Gee we would have to buckle up and enjoy the ride so to speak if this was the case..
  14. I remember being at the Geelong game and watching him play and my older brother got a man cruch on him. All we heard about for the next few weeks was Cuthbertson this and Cuthbertson that. It didnt last long...
  15. This has been probably the most exciting end of a season i have experienced. Usually around this time im thinking about the Cricket season coming up and i usually look down at the people counting down to the start of the AFL season and laugh to myself. Im not saying i never look forward to the next season but the last few years it hasn't been a highlight and the off season has given me a chance to restock my faith (my faith is always there but it takes a beating some years) and prepare for the first round. This year after playing most of the year with a caretaker coach under a cloud of who will coach us, rumours flying that its Roos no its not its Williams, no wait its Roos again etc then finding out that one of our major sponsors is leaving, then losing the other. Well we got our man in the end and i feel we have done a amazing job with our free agency/trade period. Having the likes of Hogan (i know he was already ours), Vince, Cross, Michie, Riley and Tyson all in the mix for our seniors, does make our list look a lot more like a decent playing list. Then there is all this talk about new sponsors but as all the leaks from the club have now been plugged there all rumours. There is also talk around about getting new jumpers. That's exciting for me too. not that i hated or loved the old ones and either way i was going to be getting new jumpers at the start of the year but that too is exciting. Obviously we will be getting a new sponsor/sponsors for the next season (hopefully for more then one) and new or old jumpers well as long as its red and blue and worn with pride, i am behind it (and in it). Now onto the topic of this thread. As i type we have 19,170 members and i know a lot of them are die hard roll over members but it still impressive. All of these factors have made me so excited about next season. Now i know ill probably be jumped on here about keeping the lid on it etc but i am not saying we are going to win every game etc or make the finals etc. I am just saying i am excited about watching us play. I have spent the last decade between Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra and watching game after game on TV or at the ground when i get a chance. It got to the point where i would support because i am a life long demon supporter. Always will be, Whole family are, my Sydney supporting partner is going to be, she just doesn't know it yet. This time i am one of those people counting the days. I am on the MFC website daily, im on Demonland all the time. I don't say much on here but i read a lot. Im so excited im am looking into having a couple of trips to the NT next year along with a lot of road trips to see my family, at the MCG, when the boys play. Hopefully we can keep the numbers rolling in and next year will be the first of a lot in the right direction for the club. Go Dees
  16. Also most teams (excluding us) tend to play out of their skins trying to impress the new coach. Plus its not as if its going to be a weeks turn around. The new coach whoever it is will have the full preseason. The disadvantage he will face is not having the oppertunity to trade and delist really.
  17. I think its funny that since the story has been reported i have been chatting (not teasing yet) to my St Kilda mates and have been told by one of them that Mark Williams would be the next coach, then the other said that Voss had already accepted the job and then i looked at news.com and they are suggesting that Harvey would be coaching. Good to see the rumour mill getting a full head of steam after a quiet week last week
  18. James Magner could take the job as a player/coach. He will definatly get a game then
  19. Does anyone know or have heard about Jamars condition at the moment?
