  1. I am a big for of Clisby and hope he plays from round one too. I cant recall if he has served his suspension fully yet? does he have any games remaining or is he right to play from round 1?
  2. After reading this post i kept thinking back to the movie "Billy Madison" Principal: Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul. Billy Madison: Okay, a simple "wrong" would've done just fine.
  3. Grew up playing junior footy for the might Romsey Redbacks. Played in there 1996 U18 premiership. Played a couple of years in the Seniors/Reserves at Romsey in the RDFL Moved to Ballarat and played for Lake Wendouree in the BFL seniors for two years Moved to Melbourne played for Powerhouse in the Seniors/reserves in the VAFA for 3 years Changed to Old Essendon in the VAFA for 2 years Moved to perth and played social for a year work was hectic Moved to Sydney and played for Balmain Dockers in the Seniors for 2 years Moved to Melbourne and played in the SFL for 2 years Moved to Sydney and played for Southerland Sharks in the Seniors/Reserves I played with some pretty serious teams and it wasnt because i was any good im just tall and can jump.
  4. think i might put it towards a brand new MFC 2014 Jumper with the new sponsors.
  5. On a side note, I am moving departments today and as i spend 100% of my work day with Demonland up in the background and always looking at AFL and MFC pages, as a going away present my two bosses (Die hard Syd and Geel supporters) managed to organise $75 gift voucher for "the Demon Shop". You have to love when other teams fund my obsesion with Melbourne gear.
  6. it looks like essendon sent pick 84 to Geelong for Chappy. I thought that Geelong were not going to extend his contract? I thought he could go anywhere without having to be traded? I must be wrong.
  7. well hopefully with all this experience from NSW we might be able to find some talent overlooked by most clubs.
  8. I think im just excited about the possability of having players like Clark and Dawes playing a majority of games next year and with the likes of Hogan and now Vince, Tyson, Michie and Cross in the mix i just want to see them out there in the Red and Blue. I know winning X amount of games would be great and i want to watch my boys play in September but that not what im excited about. I dont think i have wanted footy to come around as much as i do this time. I just want to see the MFC put the best availible team on the field.
  9. I was living in Sydney in 2012 and went to the game at the SCG where Howe took that mark. I walked away from that game with a massive man crush on Mr M. Clark. I was surrounded by moronic Sydney supporters and copped it all night but was very impressed with what i saw from the big man. It was the first time i saw him play apart from the highlight packages and thought he was what we needed. I hope he can keep himself fit for the whole season and provide us with that target up front and help Hogan develop.
  10. I think she missed her mouth and smeared it over her face...
  11. I really like the look of the list. We have some depth in our ranks. Its allowing the young kids to develop into their ability. Not being thrust into the frontline and expecting them to perform. Another thing I can see as a bonus is that the players who we all love to make comment about, and no im not picking sides on if they will be good or not, but they will actually have to train hard, play well to get a spot under Roos. Competition for a position might just get the best out of players like Dunn, Pederson, Watts (consistency), McKenzie etc. We have a lot of players who were getting games who we all know could play better then what they did but constantly played below par and got away with it because they could.
  12. I have to admit, I love what our club has done since the season ended for us. I don’t usually have the ability to watch the post season trade period but this year i was. The fact that we have been able to replace Silvia with an experienced midfielder and add 3 other midfielders of varying age and experience into that mix does fill me with excitement. As for Barret the [censored]. When i first started reading Demonland (around the time of Neilds sacking) i could tell there was a fair bit of hatred towards the man from people on here. I had no idea who he was as i have been living in Sydney and Canberra and luckily we don’t get the footy show till real late. As for the Media coverage of AFl well we are lucky to get a page and even that if filled with the red and white pansies or the GWS drop kicks. However over last 3-4 months i have been introduced to the [censored]. The first time i saw him i thought he was a tool but didn’t know who he was. Then over the last couple of weeks i have actually grown a hatred for the man and i don’t hate too many people. Girlfriend a swans supporter, best mate a Collingwood supporter so i have a pretty high tolerance to morons. But Barret takes the cake.. Has this idiot ever played any form of sport at all. He seems to me the sort of guy who got picked last at school and every year disappointed his parents.
  13. I like that rumour about Cross, I have heard it too from friends this morning. Probably from hearing it on SEN but still. With Vince, Minchie and Tyson inserted into our current list plus the prospect of what will be availible at number 9 i am acually very excited about next year.
  14. How about we hit up http://www.nqr.com.au/ There always dealing with items that are less then first class
  15. I wouldnt be too upset about comments from the purple haze.. They would still be kicking themselves about losing the GF but im afraid they would probably miss....
  16. I didnt include him because he was picked up at number 6 and our first pick was number 12. I should have re worded it to "notable players we missed"

  18. The last couple of days whilst waiting trade/FA news and reading all the posts here about who we will/should pick up with the draft it got me thinking as to how we have gone in previous years. Im not talking about the superstars we didn’t pick and the duds we did pick. I was thinking along the lines of which draft did we get the most bang for our buck. Which draft did we secure players who paid the MFC back in games played. Yeah we lost a few players along the way and gained a few, but if we look at the raw figures of drafted players v games played which year do you think we really struggled. I went back to 2000 and came up with the following. 2000 100 MFC Games at 10 per Player Drafted AFL ave 41 games per player drafted 2001 301 MFC Games at 38 per player drafted AFL ave 62 games per player drafted 2002 371 MFC games at 31 per player drafted AFL ave 58 games per player drafted 2003 494 MFC games at 62 per player drafted AFL ave 48 games per player drafted 2004 302 MFC games at 60 per player drafted AFL ave 50 games per player drafted 2005 290 MFC games at 36 per player drafted AFL ave 47 games per player drafted 2006 275 MFC Games at 55 per player drafted AFL ave 41 games per player drafted 2007 307 MFC games at 31 per player drafted AFL ave 32 games per player drafted 2008 377 MFC games at 38 per player drafted AFL ave 30 games per player drafted 2009 235 MFC games at 28 per player drafted AFL ave 22 games per player drafted 2010 145 MFC games at 14 per player drafted AFL ave 15 games per player drafted 2011 47 MFC games at 7 per player drafted AFL ave 8 games per player drafted 2012 92 MFC games at 10 per player drafted AFL ave 5 games per player drafted I do have a more detailed breakdown for each year but I didn’t want to put them all up here at the start as the post would be massive. And yes I don’t have a life and im pretty bored at the moment.
  19. I buy the Media Polo and jacket/hoodie etc yearly but the jumper as well.... Suppose it all goes to a good cause..
  20. oh well 2014 = another 2 jumpers for me to buy
  21. I think its quite amusing to see all those rumours/tweets/so called trade news updates with carlton basically after everyone. I am surprised not to have seen one linking Davey being lured out of retirement to join them.
  22. I would put my hand up to help out but living in Canberra makes it a little hard. Also im 34 but i still play. 196cm 103kg Melbourne born but raised in Romsey so i have bogan blood running through me (sometimes not a bonus). Played around the country a little when i moved.
  23. I have to live here... i would put this place first on my list to be "disposed" of
  24. I have been told (given crap about) Sylvia now a done deal at West Coke Eagles. My Smug mate (collingwood Supporter - Enough said) was quite happy with the fact he "Knew" Sylvia was gone on a 2 year contract for 1.2M I know its only a Rumour but 1.2M is a lot isnt it for Sylvia?
