Already in one league for my first year at this SC and DT thing. Thought I might try what someone else said and make up a Dees team solely and see how they travel. Might be interesting. Now to find out if I can squeeze in anywhere........

Thanks for the reports.. living up here on the GC does make it a tad hard to see training so your reports and pics are very appreciated. I see it was a bit cooler down there with jackets and tops under guernseys... I wish it was like that here but still very hot and humid. Now from my observations of your reports, things are looking pretty good in Demon country. Sylvia and Moloney look enormous!! Incredible Hulks in fact and seems it has not been detrimental to their speed or efficiency so looking for big years from those guys and also from Jonesy. I hear reports that JW is not going to be ready and people are getting antsy cos he is not showing superstardom at this early point. Jack is still a young and probably still growing boy. I remember last year at the GC function before the Saints game and Cale Morton got up and spoke. He said he was working so hard to gain muscle but his body hadnt stopped growing up and it was making it tough to show said muscle. This is probably happening to Jack as well. He was an underage kid last year when we took him at #1 and being #1 placed so many unfair expectations of him in his first year or two. He will be our next legendary f/fwd but for now he is learning how to be a normal size fish in a big pond rather than being the big fish in a small pond. Guess thats hard when you have the talent and the skills and have been the "star" to having to work really hard to get the same sort of results in the big league. I know he will be fine. I have the same sort of confidence in Jack as I did in Col many years ago when he arrived. Admittedly I did start to stress about Col with a few off field dramas but to see him last year come into his own and really show us what he can do, well I know now that I was right to get excited about Colin Sylvia. I am having the same feelings about Jack. It will happen, he will be an elite player, I feel, but we have to let him get there in his own time.

I think the classic case of jumping ship to get a flag was Buckley leaviing Brisbane to go to the Pies and then to have the Lions win three flags in a row whilst the Pies won NONE ) HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE

Happy New Year to everyone as well. I have enjoyed the year here.. not due to our excellent footballiing skills in 09 but for all the banter and "experimentation" talk, draft discussions etc etc.. we had known for a long time that we stood to gain the two best kids in the land as long as the club was as focused as we were, well we woudl be ok . The Richmond game still lingers as one of the most stressful games I have ever watched and I still thank the deaf umpire and Jordan McMahon for Jack Trengove. Looking forward to seeing our draftees emerge and begin their AFL careers with style, LJ to continue to amaze us, Col Sylvia continue his good form from 09 and head towards elite status, a B & F and some solid polling in the Brownlow. I also look forward to seeing Jack Watts take a regular role up forward this year and begin what will be the start of a long and fulfilling career.. I know he played in 09 but I am taking this year as his first real year and he is still eligible for the Rising Star!! Go Dees we look forward to seeing the start of an amazing Demon decade!!

AAAhh that news makes my heart sing!! Col has a special place in my heart - loved him since he arrived and was getting concerned that we would never see the full extent of his talents. This year, however, we saw a lot of what I have been waiting for yet I still imagine he has a few tricks up his sleeve he has yet to share with us. They will be revealed very soon I feel. If he stays fit, focused and out of trouble, we could not only see a tilt at the B & F but at the Brownlow as well!!!!!!!!

Big surprise this but I vote for Beamer too. This man is a born leader - he has the passion, the drive and the initiative. These are very important aspects of captaincy aside from the obvious onfield leadership which he often shows in the huddles. He also leads by example. He has created the first year player program and takes the kids off to Warnambool (?) each year to instil some of his Demonic values and teach them the history of the club. I just think he would be perfect - Beamer for captain 2011 onwards

I did the stats for the club in that time and it was the best chance we had at the flag despite GF appearances in 88 and 2000 ( which wasn't under NOrthey) Just for the record, and nothing to do with footy per se, but on a trip back from Sydney one year Northey told me I had the best filled out Demon tshirt he had seen.. lol I believe he was our best coach since NS but lets hope that our current coach can get us the results we really want!! I beleive he has the right ideas and hopefully this bunch of players will get us over the line and on the dais collecting the cup!!

Yeah he must have killed a Chinaman in a previous life to get that much bad luck in just a couple of months!! Seriously though, that would really affect you, wouldnt it? To have a car come across the highway, over the median strip and hit you and to then know that the driver died as a result. Even though it is reported that he had absolutley no responsibility for the accident, he would be feeling pretty ordinary and woudl be wondering what he had done to deserve this much bad luck. Chin up Levi ! Life can only get better.

Yes, its amazing that they are not coming out and making a statement. Straight after the Lovett recent incident he has been banned from the club indefinitely. His previous indiscretion was followed by a statement from the coach saying no further trouble would be acceptable and they have followed through. Carlton has just had the statment from Sticks but no word from the coach or captain. Prob cos the captain was there on the night of the booze cruise.

Well doesnt surprise me.. from the Underbelly series we learned about the Carlton Crew.. all that drug money.. I am sure a lot of it went into the CFC coffers.

I had us at 9 wins... so ticked off the 9-10 wins option. I did go the sentimental and pick us to do over the Pies on QB. This is mainly cos I plan to be there. I can see us beating all those we did last year so should have added WCE at the G but put the pies in instead. I think as long as we all see improvement and get a few more wins on the board we will happy with 2010 and go into 2011 with a lot more confidence we can make an impact on the finals then. I cant wait. There is around 103 days to go till round 1.

Hmm thats odd alright cos I got mine on the Gold Coast on Tuesday. Very nice. I see that the calendar does have shots of other teams but who the hell cares!!!!!!!!! Its background.. the main shot is one of our boys and thats fine by me. I dont care to look that hard and anyway its more the atmosphere of the ground and the crowds which we will have again very very soon.

I have that video somewhere I believe but was good to see it again. Sure, it wont make any top 40 lists but my all time fave Johnno was on it and was good to see all those familar faces. I cant wait for next season!! I have only two seasons in my world.. footy season and waiting for footy season and that is the longest time... Thanks to all those who go to training and send us pics and reports. They are most welcome and enjoyable for us souls who just cant get to watch them at this time of year.

Hmm perhaps its a reminder of the one year we let the ball drop and missed our chance at 4 flags in a row and actually would have been 6 in a row which would be a very hard feat to break that.. alas not.. cant imagine why else... if it was 1858 then thats what should be on the shirt.. i do like them tho The poster boy/model is pretty hot.. can I have him instead?????????????????????
