Its $5 for everyone this year. Will be worth it with all the players in attendance. Under 8 will be free.
-
Ok it will be interesting. I will find two volunteers to do that for me and hand them to me before they leave. I will post them up but probably wont get them on till late. Let's hope I have a hard time picking due to good showings by a lot of players. Col Sylvia always seems to play well up here. Has collected two BOG's ( for us) from us and been close on another. Let's hope we can crack it for a win but not counting on it. Miracles can happen.

Bump! Still looking for about 5 more people. All those that have replied thankyou very much. We will see you Sunday. For those going to the game, and you dont have to be a Queenslander, you can be from down south, we need to ensure the cheersquad doesnt need help from the Lions. So please, message me and come along and be part of the day's events. It wont take too much time and you will be back in your seats before the game begins. Thanks in advance Deb

Anyone from Brisbane going to the game who would like to get in and help out our cheersquad, please PM me asap. Due to an unfortuate incident, Lorraine, the leader of the cheersquad has a badly broken leg and is unable to attend the game. This has left a big hole and one the other squad members need help filling. Basically it involves helping finish off the banner ( eg putting it on the poles) and then taking it out on the ground and holding it up for the boys to see. The finishing may be done but depends on how much those coming upget done. We need 20 people - I have put a call out to the Qld Demons but thought it wouldnt hurt to ask you guys as well. So how about it???? If we dont get the numbers we will have to rely on the Lions squad to help out and how embarrassing would that be????????????? PM me today!!!!!!!

The team are having a meal at the Pineapple after the game and will ALL be in attendance after they have eaten. This is from the club itself and as I helped organise the meal, I guess I should know. So please all rock up!!!!!!!! If ever the club needs support it is when they are down and getting kicked from pillar to post. Sure they haven't had a good start to the year and some of the games have been less than inspriring but there are glimmers of hope and where there is hope .... Please also check out my next post re the cheersquad and contact me if you can help.

I havent tried buying membership online but from what I gather it's an individual thing. As for reserved seats - I think that just applies for those that go to the G. For the Gabba game, you have to wait until the week before the game and book however many via Ticketek. My advice is to ring up once you work out on the ticketek site where you want to sit and book them by phone as it wont give you what you wnt online. We tried it last year and chose a great spot on the wing. Every time we tried to choose that, we got behind the goals which is rubbish. We rang and got the seats we wanted right on the wing, in an alcohol free zone and they were perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sure it cost us but it was well worth it not to have drunken fools dropping beer down our backs, excessive swearing and just rotten behaviour. We had a good deal of Melbourne people around but also a lot of Lions - you get that! So, my advice is to wait and choose your own seats. Even if Melbourne get an allocation to reserve, I am sure they will be rubbish seats as thats all they ever got when we were the home team and this year we are just the visitors!!!!!!!!!!

The club should benefit from the move back to the "G" as more people can go to the game and there will be opportunities for merchandising etc.. but for the Queenslanders who were looking forward to the two games this year - well not happy Jan!!!!!!! I had been making preparations for our functions which, fortunately now, I hadnt booked. Being our tenth birthday it was a great opportunity for people to come along and enjoy Gold Coast hospitality and weather and for our supporters to get an extra look at the team in 08. I just knew the AFL would take this game - prob figured it would be the least likely to raise a crowd but from what I had read, it was going to be pretty well patronised by Demon fans. So it is the Gabba but a day game so that will auger well for a brilliant attendance and a great function.

Well done!! The inclusion of Broady and the 2000 QF gave me goosebumps. I am now going to have to watch that game again. I think the club should use that and the one from Demonology someone made or make a similar one themselves and use it as it is very inspiring and we need to really push this 150th. I loved it.

After a rather lacklustre year by the club and even myself, I have decided we are going to start the new season with a Xmas get-together. Where? Shearer's Arms Tavern - 23 Peachey Road Ormeau (halfway between GC and Brissie). When? Sunday December 9 RSVP As soon as possible if wanting to have lunch. If you want to come along for a Xmas drink only, no need to book.. just rock on up. Email me on [email protected] Time: Booked tables for 1.00pm lunch. All welcome whether members or not. No Charge Buy your own drinks and food. I have booked for 20 however should I get a great response I can certainly add to that. Hope to see you all there. Membership forms will be available.

I read it to say that they would be likely to bring up clubs with good drawing capacity so that leaves us out!!!! We are currently playing here next year anyhow so no difference if we did have a game but just might be at another time of the year.

Freo are becoming the Bombers scrapheap now eh? At least it's not us. Think we have made some good choices up in the top of the draft... the later picks - well lets just hope they are CAC specials like Whelan and Bruce. Think DB sounds like a better developer of the kids than ND was and I cant wait to see how things pan out... damn I am excited.
-
Hey young Jack has more posts about him than our #4 pick. Perhaps this is as we have sung the praises of Morton before he even was named so read on and quite impressed. About to go vote and come back to prepare the Qld Demons news with our draft picks so all info I can get about these guys is much appreciated as we hear little up here. Welcome to MFC Jack!
-
OOOH I am getting excited. Am happy with this choice -well done Dees!!!!!!!!!
-
This one is tough as we are waiting to see what the three other clubs do first and then make our choice but I would be happy with any of those mentioned above. However for the sake of this exercise - I will also go with the popular pick of Morton. Yawn Yawn... I like em all... why cant we have them all??????

Wow! Th anks guys for your magnificent efforts in getting the pics of the boys and the great report. This is when we appreciate it the most. The off season is so hard for us interstaters and your reports on training keep me going. Jonesy- wow - 19 and his dedication and fitness so early is fabulous. Brock - Good to see him up and at it and his attitude is great. I heard the talk with Max Walker in China and I liked what I heard. He will be captain one day I am sure. Jared - good to see him out on the track although as others have said we need to beef him up so he will be able to return to his best if not better and stand his ground down back. Good to hear Beamer is back running and hopefully he will be back to his form in his first year with us. Nothing I liked much better than seeing him full steam ahead and then the booming kick in to Neita..gives you a tingle down your spine, it does. So well done guys and I look forward to many more.

From a selfish point of view I liked the guaranteed game here but as it turns out we play here anyway next year and also at Carrara. I do wish to correct you though on the Gabba win ratio... we won in 2002 and also in 2006 and the 2002 one was a ripper!!!!
-
Yes we interstaters sure appreciate the reports and pics that you guys can give us over summer. If it wasn't for them I think I would go mad.

What a great idea! I like it but I bet the club wouldnt go for it...
