We have to pull out all stops to ensure our young stars stay ours! I don't care who we get rid of to keep them but they are our future. As years go on our current more senior players will retire and make more money available but we just have to keep them out of the GC and GWS vultures way.

I watched a lot of the Carlton/Coll game and I must say it is ugly when they mess around with the ball and that one extra handball got them in loads of trouble. Watching our game v Brisbane we didnt have that and you have to hand it to Brad Scott, he did his homework well and had us pretty well worked out and our run through the centre was stifled. Once this happened it was almost a revert to old habits and hence the extra possessions which amounted to zilcho. Hopefully McKenzie will be back, and Bail and we can get some of that run back and our tackle machine will get back into the groove as I think we will need that this Friday night. Dogs will be hard to stop. They now have a big forward but I would give that task to Chip and have Warnock helping out if necessary. The rest of the forward line are pretty well similar to us. I look forward to playing them. I think we will do ok. Can we win? Well it depends on which team turns up.. the team v Brisbane or the one v Roos. I am talking attitude and application, not the actual team itself.

BUMP Just to remind those that can, that Casey will surely need some sort of cheersquad to make them feel welcome. Anyone that can go,it would be great if you can make a bit of noise for them. Some of our future champions and some not quite so champion-like will be in the team and I know many Queenslanders would love to have a look at Jack Watts!!

I will be dissappointed if he doesnt get the nomination this week however both of them will at some point this year - I have no doubt. As for who will be best.. well who really cares as we have both wearing Dees jumpers and noone else does. It was worth the pain of losses and having to barrack for your team to lose. Also the consistent criticsm of tanking. We know we did it and just disguised it well with experimentation and most people in the football world know it but for Demetriou and his cronies who dont believe tanking exists. Doesnt matter now as priority picks as we have them no longer exist and for a team to bottom out now well its disaster. Sure, we probably didnt need it given the talent we already had STARTING to develop but for it all to gell so quickly this year - well I dont hear anyone outside the club complaining. We will constantly be criticised for it as Scully & Trengove continue on their merry way and I dont care. We did it within the laws of the game and reap the rewards. I love both these boys and look forward to 9 & 31 tearing it up for years to come.

That was a shocker!! There were other bad ones but that was potentially the most costly of the game for sure. Jack had NO chance of getting rid of the ball. The commentators were all saying the same thing. The stupid ump had no idea - how could you even try and hit it out with your arm pinned to the ground??

I was terribly nervous. Not so much that we would lose the game but that they would win it. They had done so in the weeks before from similar margins behind and it did worry me but once the quarter started I relaxed a bit. Despite it taking some time to get that first goal, once we did I believe that's when I thought we had it. The thing that impressed me was that they didnt stop tackling or smothering - Green on TJ was a classic example - and they sure didnt stop running. I love this new Melbourne. The thing is tho, it's not really a "new" Melbourne, as an emerging one. As someone has said already, only 3 players are new to the club from last year's wooden spooners. Two of those are brand new recruits that are 18 years old and one is getting a new lease of life at his new club. The rest suffered like we did last year to deliver those two prize recruits and impressive as they are, they didnt win the game for us. The entire TEAM won the game. So very very proud to be a Demon

Hi All Well as many of you had to tell me, the Casey Scorps are playing the Gold Coast next Saturday up here and anyone wishing to go should do so. Alas, I work on Saturday so cant attend which is a shame as I would love to see the boys in action. I trust there will be a decent contingent along to be our cheersquad. Details of the location are as follows: Labrador AFC Ashton Street Labrador 4215. Game starts 2pm. I am sure the boys would love to have some support so hope the Queenslanders can make it. Deb

Yeah... so glad. Didnt deserve any weeks but knowing our misfortunes in the tribunal area I wasnt overly confident. Glad to see Beamer will be in for Saturday.. we sorely need him and particularly in that sort of form. May make a huge difference to the outcome.

Very disappointed with both 7 & Fox for the lack of coverage of our post match celebrations. We have had very little joy in the past 3 years and to rob us of this for a pre-match chit chat of Freo/Saints is very disappointing. How hard would it have been to go into the rooms and show it??? Five mins or so and interviews. I went out after the game and 15 mins later saw they were still talking prematch about the Saints game. If they had gone straight to the game you might have understood but we were ripped off.

I want Scully & Trengove to really show their stuff today!! Make the Tiges choke when they see what they "gave" us last year with that goal. They could have had Trengove had Jordan McMahon kicked like he did for the whole game. If he had missed we prob wouldnt have Jack now.. ouch!! We have to be 100% on our game and not let up. Treat it like we did the Pies game. We didnt give them an inch and they are far advanced on the Tiges. No mercy!!!!!!!!!!!

I chose JW but could have chosen any of them and you know what? Who cares! They are all DEMONS and we should be happy and proud to have them all in OUR team and watch them all thrive and work together to become a dominant club in just a few short years! I would have hated having to choose between Scully & Trengove.. it would have been terrible but thanks to the team we are playing this weekend, we have both players in red & blue. I will never forget those last final seconds.. I thought we had stuffed it up and were going to win and then a miracle occured. Jordan McMahon was paid a mark AFTER the siren. Would he kick it??? He hadnt been to flash up to that point and I couldnt watch. History tells us he got it and not only Richmond were cheering but the majority of Melbourne supporters were too.. me amongst them. It hurt to be happy to lose like that. Fast Forward to November 28 (?) draft day... Pick 2 Jack Trengove.... Melbourne. Pick 1 Tom Scully.... Melbourne. All worth it. We will have to thank Jordan and Richmond for many years and the first sign of gratitude is to show them what they gave us with a sparkling performance from Jack and Tom tomorrow. Noone will be forgetting Jurrah.. he is the icing on the cake... a fairly rich cake with all those names mixed in. It will be a cake many clubs would be choking on in the years to come -wanting this talent at their club and too bad! We, as a club, have had more than our fair share of disappointment, bad luck and injury and just plain bad footy at times, so we richly deserve to be having our cake and eating it too!!!!! GO DEES

I am assuming the game will be played at the Sharks ground. I will email members this weekend to see what the turnout will be like. Should be good.
