I'm not convinced TMac will be included. I remember him saying he didn't enjoy being a part of the leadership group under Roos.

Maybe they plan to announce it as part of the doco?

Quick, get Perty on the injury list!

Pruess has torn the meniscus in his knee. Misses the next 8-10 weeks of training. God I hope Max is right for round one https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/562587

All that build up for 11 minutes? That should have been the teaser! (Yes, I know there's more to come. Not chuffed about waiting another week for another 11 minutes)

I wouldn't say I find it hard to watch, but I can understand why others do. I still look forward to it and as a Dad to two girls (and a boy) I'll be encouraging them to watch it as much as possible.

I get that some people don't enjoy the spectacle. You're one and that's fine. It's your right to have that opinion. I do enjoy it, but I can still acknowledge it lacks the quality of the men's comp. And I don't think it will improve dramatically until the AFL buy in completely. These ladies aren't professionals. They have shorter preseasons which, due to work commitments, involve a few hours at the club a week. They play 8 games (I think) plus finals and then go back to their respective state leagues where, again, their training is limited by work commitments. Until the AFL commits to a full pre-season and season with professional players and coaches, I think the quality will continue to be an issue for people. It's not for me, but I've never expected it to be at or near the level of the men's comp. Some people might argue they don't deserve to be paid a professional wage or don't pull their own weight yet until the quality picks up further, but I don't see how it would without players having the time and resources to work at it full time.

It's not really something you can see but I'd think she was pivotal to our setting up behind the ball, especially in the 4th. Assuming that is as big a consideration to her playing there as providing drive off half back.

Really important win, given our injuries and the opponent. Hopefully sets us up for a good season.

Cornes also rated the May trade as the 2nd worst trade in the last 3 years, before Gibbs, Lachie Weller and Beames. https://www.news.com.au/sport/afl/theyd-like-to-have-that-one-back-cornes-names-worst-five-trades-of-last-three-years/news-story/1c2999e89c1c4b901ea8be2b3ebd8806

Wasn't he the bloke that got called out by Reiwoldt? Gave the results of the scan before he'd even had it? And then just went with "I trust my sources"
-
Are we expecting a Captaincy announcement after this? Surely they'll do the voting up there, if they haven't already.

Nice of hunt to leave Viney open for that. Had the chance to shepherd but was too busy calling for a handball Viney wasnt in a position to give ?♂️

Saw an Instagram post with Gawn, Viney and Lever training together outside official training. My first thought - "Is that the leadership group?"

Beautiful! Should be enough room for the new training oval and social club!

He's super tough and his pressure is off the charts, which we desperately need. But from memory, his kicking is very iffy.

1.5m loss. The move out of gaming cost 900,000k. Still managed to pay down debt. At least that's a positive.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KYSAIAH KROPINYERI PICKETT
Mickey replied to olisik's topic in Melbourne Demons
Sydney Swans draftee Dylan Stephens would hear new Melbourne small forward Kysaiah Pickett breathing behind him on the field and knew he was in strife. The two youngsters, who are best friends, have played against each other and together many times over the past few years. Stephens, who was pick No.5 in this year’s AFL National Draft, quickly learned he needed to act quickly when Pickett was lurking in the vicinity wearing an opposition jersey. “I think he’s absolutely ready for it (the AFL),” Stephens said. Newnes reveals why he turned his ies, AFLPA rally behind Beams in late“For him, what he can do with the ball is amazing, but if he doesn’t get his hands on it as much as he would have liked he can impact the game in other ways defensively. “He can clean people up, tackle, pressure, and even for me playing against him, you just know he could be anywhere. “He’ll catch you in no time and his presence, you hear him breathing behind you and start to panic and that impacts your skills Don’t be fooled by Pickett’s 170cm stature. The teenager, who was the bolter of the draft after being snapped up by the Demons at pick No.12, likes to hurt opponents and has done so on many occasions. Although, Stephens said he thankfully had never been cleaned up by his mate on the field. “I think he looked after me,” Stephens laughed. “A couple of times he’s had me and lifted me a little bit and then just took me down a little bit. “If I were anyone else I think he would have gone straight through me.” “As a person, at first he is quiet and that’s how he’ll come across,” he said. “But when you get to know him he comes out of his shell a little bit. “And when he does, the kid doesn’t shut up. “He doesn’t stop talking.”- 966 replies
