  1. Bedford has a good high pressure game but has a grand total of 7 goals for the year so one every second game. Chandler has kicked more. Not exactly the answer to our small forward woes. I feel like the cost for Stengle will be too high to land him and coin would be better saved/served for a 2025 midfield warchest (assuming we cant jag an LDU or Callaghan end of year in contract). If you are willing to pay up it would need to be because we have confidence Koz can more fully sustain a impactful midfield role to close the gap next year.
  2. Out: Petracca, Laurie, Billings, In: Kolt, Sestan, Woewodin
  3. Was JVR training? I cant spot him in the vids? I can see Howes and Laurie anyone else who did not play last week have a run?
  4. On face value you would think going to Pies makes sense for the opportunity. However I suggest we value the importance of ruckman more highly than the current Pies management and therefore would offer a more attractive package. I also think a 1-2 year transition learning from the GOAT would be enticing.
  5. Disagree. The kid is quality but is still only 22 and whilst he dominates VFL and has shown good signs at AFL level I suggest he would know he is not ready for a full season as a number 1 ruck.
  6. A performance that bad forces a focus everywhere and change to be made. Lets get back to playing a style that suits the list. Lets put players in their best positions. Lets prepare this week so we can actually cover the ground for 4 quarters. Lets omit players who need to find form and effort and reward those performing at VFL even if just to bring some new energy. Its time to see what type of culture we really have.
  7. I’ll take the 23.8. Actually 8.4 likely gets it done against Freo. Don’t care what it looks like we just need to get it done today.

I don’t think he at this time has consistent AFL attributes and I am not confident he will get there. If you want positives, he is clean with his hands and has good agility and some speed for his size. I am not being negative just attempting to provide a rounded view to those that are of the belief he should debut. I would think the same based on his stats but watching him I have strong doubts., Two weeks ago I watched him and 14 of his 20 kicks were kick outs. Most of the others were as the relief chip sideways to him not in attacking positions or winning back the ball. Note I did not see his last game which sounds like a step forward.

It would be good if those that have an opinion on this could state whether they have watched him play or just read his stats. His stats are generally padded by kick outs. Other than this he gets a lot of sideways ball, is not very damaging when he gets it, goes to ground more than I like and is not strong one on one when defending. He is not deserving of a debut in my view (though I did not think Howes was ready) and suspect will be a delist end of year.
  10. I reckon 34 will be left vacant this season and next #kalani
  11. Herald Sun has us linked to Voss, El-Hawli and Noah Howes.
  12. 33 possessions and 2 goals against the Swans in the VFL last week not a bad way to represent just before the MSD.
  13. I suggest managing Windsor for a week to refresh him to play KB and then post bye is starting to look right. This would be on the basis of his GPS showing this being required but he seems to not be covering the ground as well as earlier in year. Otherwise assuming Petty is right to go no change but need to see more from Petty and McAdam in next 2 games.
  14. 6 Gawn 5 ANB 4 TMac 3 Viney 2 Tomlinson 1 Trac
  15. AMW’s stats/DT score I assume excite unless you watched the game. 16 of his 24 kicks were play ons from kicking out. He had limited impact. For the record Hunter was poor. The only reason he is being promoted is Billings confidence is shot with the ball and particularly in front of goal. Would be disappointed if Hunter is in the starting 22.
  16. Dont disagree with this. However plenty of examples last weekend with more experienced players where a message could have been better set. Either way Howes looked like he was starting to tire and with Tomlinson, TMac, May better to play a touch smaller/faster being Howes kind of plays in between.
  17. Out Brown, Billings, Lever, In: JVR, Langdon, Tholstrup Sparrow as sub.
  18. AMW, hence his inflated stats.
  19. Hunter played/looked like a guy who’s been told his card is already marked for the exit.
  20. It does seem weird considering his one game impact. Surely this is not a park him til the MSD move?
  21. Brisbane look similarly depleted. A great opportunity for our kids to play a more central role.

The question isn't whether punters want to watch all 9 games. The question is will more people watch if a game is after another game vs if your game finishes and another game is already progressing. I suggest the AFL know the difference this makes in eye balls and eye balls = broadcast $$$$. The broadcasters also would know what this means and the more eyeballs the more potential advertising $$$. As a punter it will irk me at times like this weekend but also I am sure there will be points with quality games pre or post ours that I will appreciate the fact I can watch them in full if I choose.
  23. Both Bedford and Jordon were around the mark for the Dees but had their chances to lock in spots in the year they moved on but never capitalised. We offered deals on both and they were targeted by teams with more cash and clearer roles for them. Jordon is very well suited to the SCG in particular and if Gus was on the list there would only be the ongoing argument as to he vs Sparrow in our rotation. Otherwise his situation would not have changed. Bedford again was offered a contract with us but did not back himself in to push ahead of Spargo in our small forward set up in 2023. It’s good to see both of them have positive starts with their new clubs but you cant say we did not try and retain them. The question is whether we gave them enough opportunity prior to their departure. Being they both played more than 15 games (noted some as sub) each in their final year with us it’s hard to argue we didn’t.
  24. After watching Casey this afternoon no one stamped themselves for a spot. I would take Kolt as the sub, play Woey back and trial Bowey as a high half forward in place of Chandler (who needs to be managed).
  25. This x 2
