Could not care how good his disposal is. If you dont chase or spread, you dont play. Moloney, Sylvia and Davey should go. Green a reprieve only on the basis that it was first match back.
-
I could not care what great marks he takes if he continually misses set shots from 25m and has brain fades on landing. The marks are great as is his effort but the goal kicking and decision making needs to seriously improve.
-
It is the coaches role to give us the best opportunity to win a premiership.

Who were these wins against?

I put the below in another thread but its better suited to here. Its pretty clear to me. Last year happened off the back of listless senior players and no leadership. Yesterday happened off the back of listless senior players and no leadership. Yesterday for me affirmed the correctness in Neeld removing Moloney, Green and Davey from the leadership group and dramatically instilling kids that are granted not ready but will grow into the position. Yesterday was a perfect day for the three of them and Sylvia to lead by their actions but they were pitiful as always. The only way to fix this is to cut the cancer out and send Moloney, Sylvia, Davey and Green to Casey and play less talented players who will give their all and play their role. The quicker this is done the better.

101 vs Sydney worse than 186 vs Cats?

How surprising that the two best players we had yesterday were sent back to Casey to work on their form and adherence to the plan rather than handed games. Same should be done now to senior players in Moloney, Sylvia and Davey. Trengove needs to rest whatever has him running in treacle. Out: Moloney, Sylvia, Davey, Trengove, Jurrah (injured) In: Couch, Tapscott, Martin, Taggert, Dunn

DEMONLAND PLAYER OF THE YEAR - Round 8
Lil_red_fire_engine replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
6. Jones 5. Blease 4. Watts -
Disagree. He was the second highest possession getter and most was clean with a fair percentage in traffic. Again would like to see more urgency but it was obvious to me he would play this week.
-
Being this is at the SCG I expect that Jamar will ruck almost all of the game with Clark doing no more than 3-5 minutes if any. I expect the ground size would also have been a factor in the decision to risk Jurrah and Green on limited match fitness. Side on paper (not performance) has our best balance of grunt, skill and speed for the year.

Surely we have money for more stars?

This may be mentioned somewhere but Ch7 reporting that we are expected to make a big play for Cloke with a long term contract. -
For his second game thought he was super. I would love if they played him up.
-
Not my preference either but playing at the SCG Jamar can ruck nearly all game with brief stints from Clark.Again with Jurrah it is important he plays games and in retrospect I probably agree with starting him on rather than as sub. He could not be any worse than what Petterd or Sylvia were last week.
-
After watching Casey. In: Watts, Jurrah (sub)., Blease Out: Bate, Petterd, Fitzpatrick

Box Hill Hawks v Casey Scorpions
Lil_red_fire_engine replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Thought Taggert and Davis were both excellent. Dunn is good at this level and should stay here. Watts is a class above but still not hard enough defensively, Regardless he offers us more playing in the firsts the next two weeks rather than not playing at all. Jurrah again was good first half then ran out of legs would not surprise to see him play as sub next week.I though Blease played smarter than I have seen and was alot better defensively. -
Who are the some of the top picks this year?
Lil_red_fire_engine replied to Dee1987's topic in Melbourne Demons
I have not seen Whitfield live but from what I have seen he looks like a cross between Dal Santo and Morton. I doubt he is what we are looking for regardless of his quality. -
I dont know what was more disappointing Petterds lack of possessions, his lack of defensive effort or his intent to continually play from behind and fly for mark of the year. I am not usually a believer in dropping players after one game but I am in this case.
-
To be updated post Casey game In: Couch (will play at SCG), Jurrah (will play as no Casey), Watts (subject to form), Blease Out: Bate, Bennell, Petterd, Fitzpatrick

Demonland Player of the Year 2012 - Round 7
Lil_red_fire_engine replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
6. Clark 5. Jones 4. Bartram 3. Magner 2. Morton 1. Jamar -
The issue is he can match it for 2 quarters and then he is stuffed. He needs go to Casey and get fit enough to run out games.
-
T-Mac to Franklin Garland to Rioli Frawley to Roughhead Sellar to play on Roughhead/Hale with Rivers to take the other if McAuley comes in McKenzie to Mitchell Bail to Birchall

Moloney and Jamar on the move?
Lil_red_fire_engine replied to bush demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
I am scanning this thread for comments of him "bleeding red n blue" and can't seem to find them Moloney will cause short term pain if we lose him but he will be lucky to be a second rung mid for us in 2 years time. Jamar I hope stays but hope we dont pay overs and he honours us sticking with him for the first 6 years of his career when most clubs would have lost faith. We can always pick a mid price mature ruckman as a stop gap with Gawn, Spencer, Fitz, Martin to support. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JACK VINEY
Lil_red_fire_engine replied to einstein251's topic in Melbourne Demons
The same people bitching on here that we committed early and may pay slight overs are the same people that would have been bitching if we had not committed and he had gone to Adelaide in the mini-draft. Would I love to get him dirt cheap for a second pick?. Absolutely, and we should do whatever in power to make that happen. However if we have to use a pick as low as 3 then so be it. He is exactly what we need. There may be better players drafted but we can be sure as any that our pick will be worth it. -
We will possibly go into the bye 0-11. If we keep improving I can also see us come out of the bye with 5 straight wins.
