2010 Membership Thread

Featured Replies

I actually made eye contact with a motorist at the petrol pump who had a 09 membership sticker on his merc. I asked him if he had renewed his membership . He thought for a minute and said absolutely

Agree 100% and i also posted that anyone you know who even likes melbourne should be encouraged to join be worth there while for the next decade!!!

BUMP ^^^^^

is now 13063

and thats pretty bloody good I think :)

Also we seem to be the only club with 2010 tally up...shove that up the others. So much for the lack of passion with Dee followers !!

I congratulate the club on its efforts to date and continued success. I would also like to commend them for instigating many of the ideas from the summit regarding memberships. Hopefully more of th eideas to roll out yet ;)

If you folks have any ideas..dont be shy [email protected] :)

just wondering, i can't find it on the website, how much is a base membership (just a poor student!).

Anyone know when they are sending out the memberships? Done mine quite some time ago but has not come? I thought I read some where that they would get sent out November but maybe I am wrong?

Sister is now a first time member as well ;)

Got a message from the club by email today letting me know what kind of dates the actual mail-out of mermbership packs will happen.

Good to see the club taking initiative and responding to an issue raised by supporters last season, about not knowing when their packs wold arrive and not getting quick confirmation that things were underway.

Another tick for the new and continuously improving MelbourneFC.

Also got an email from the club today, confirming my membership renewal. 2010 will be my 40 year as a member.

14017,

Can we make 20,000 by Xmas!!! :D

I signed up today after being called up last Friday. I asked them to call me back after 7pm Monday as I did not have my CCard at the time, and they did so tonight. The club have outsourced a company that were calling all Premium members. Was great service and quick and easy. Took the direct debit option to pay monthly.

Locked in, and feel good to be on board yet again!

Could be another "surge" this coming week....

I plan on signing up tonight after the draft. First time member, long time supporter. Finally in a position to pay up and attend more games.

Was thinking of getting the Concession 11 game red and blue m/ship $120. Any recommendations? I'll be going with my melb supporting mcc mate, will we be able to sit together? CHeers.

Edit: All paid up :)

Just renewed my Trident Membership....

Wanted to wait until the day after the draft to show more of an impact picks 1 and 2 will have.

Yeah get the reserve seating so you can sit together every home game.

WARNING RANT COMING.

I am sick of seeing and hearing comments from people who question whether they should sign up to be a member of their football club, you only hear comments like this when the team is traveling poorly.

I would hear this a lot on the radio after a team suffered a loss, i recall one guy calling MMM and saying that he was reconsidering buying his membership for the MFC because they are losing so many games ([censored]).

What an idiotic comment to make, if you are a true Demon having the RED & BLUE run through your veins you should buy your membership year in year out, regardless of the teams performance. Would it not be more fulfilling when the MFC win a flag in the next 5 - 10 years and being a member who endured all the painful losses over the years to have the ultimate reward of a flag? It is people like that that kill the MFC, support your team through thick and thin and your club will reward you.

Do not be one of those Hawks or St Kilda supporters who show their support when their team starts winning games and then disappear when they start to lose. I lost count on the number of "2008 Hawks Members" car stickers once they were on top. Also the amount of St Kilda scarfs floating around the CBD disgusted me. All these fans coming out of the woodworks, makes me sick to my stomach. I have worked in the CBD for the past 7 years and this is the only year I have seen that many St Kilda scarfs. THEY MAKE ME ILL

I proudly display my MFC sticker on my rego plate, wear my scarf & MFC beanie to the office win or lose (get several strange looks, maybe because I am asian, it just looks strange!!!), and most importantly buy my membership EVERY year as soon as I receive the renewal notice. I do not wait for the draft to be decided or see how the team travels after 3-6 games. I buy my membership regardless. AND SO SHOULD YOU.

Support your team, buy your membership. ;)

WARNING RANT COMING.

..

Feel better ?

Be sure to take on board also the last couple of years have been great for membership despite our poor performances (14th,16th,16th). I'd like to think the heart beats true for many Melbournefc supporters/members, even in years of need. 15,609 members to date by the start of Summer is just the springboard and tonic the club needs for this to continue before the 2010 season.

We do need more members, the club should never be complacent and I'm sure they're not, and that they are doing everything possible to maximise membership. I think the club has done a wonderful job as far as retention of members and increasing membership levels each year.

The positive press and new recruits can only add to the good work being done by the club. Volvo's increase in sponsorship is another step in the right direction.

16,250.

And still gong strong. Don't think we will make the 20,000 mark by Xmas.

Maybe not but I think we'll smash 30,000!?

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
