From the AFL:

Brad Miller, Melbourne, has been charged with a Level One engaging in rough conduct offence against Daniel Pratt, North Melbourne, during the first quarter of the Round Four match between Melbourne and North Melbourne, played at the MCG on Saturday April 12, 2008.

In summary, his sanction must remain as a one-game penalty due to his previous poor record, even with an early plea.

The incident was assessed as reckless conduct (two points), low impact (one point) and body contact (one point). This is a total of four activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level One offence, drawing 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction. He has an existing bad record of four matches suspended within the last three years, increasing the penalty by 40 per cent to 175 demerit points. An early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent 131.25 points and a one-match sanction.

Thank god I was hoping it was more. Maybe we can swap penalties with Hall so he gets 1 week and Miller gets rubbed out for the season.

Great news! Im going ot enjoy watching this week.

I can't believe this idiotic reaction to our most consistent player this year !

I know it's not saying much but I believe that Miller has shown more endeavour and tried harder than any other player on our list .

If everyone showed the endeavour Miller does (I'm looking at you McLean, Sylvia, Robertson etc), given he's had4 reasonable games this year, we certainly wouldnt be 0-4.

But I'm sure Colin Sylvia will be our saviour up forward this week now..what a superstar he is.

So Miller.. Doyen of the game that he is..lays a lamentably stupid late hit and we're supposed to congratulate him !!

Dont give me the ol' " wel he showed some mongrel etc" he showed the true heights of his football thinking ability.

There it is all laid bare. He has the football decision making qualities of a fantail wrapper. No matter how much you shine iron it will never be gold !!

LOL @ some replies in this thread

Miller is a dud that has done nothing in 08, as usual

he never should have been in the position to get suspended, cos he should never have gotten a game for us

You can't believe idiotic reactions on Demonland?

How long you been around?

oh sorry the poor guy has endevour. So it doesnt matter that he cant kick, cant mark overhead, cant read the play and cant use his body in a contest. He has had no impact on any of the games this year. He is not fulfilling the role we need him to so im sorry "endevour" just wont cut it.

A Shame actually, Miller was hitting some rare form and was looking good. I hope he can bounce back and continue his re-development.

I like that he has soem agro back in him game, just needs to use it a better way instead of ramming into a guys back 5 seconds after he had taken a mark.

Maybe a chance for Dunny to log big mins at CHF???

We all know here that there are two schools of thought re Miller

one, he is a trier..a misunderstood and underappreciated player wom given 'time' will evolve into a 'really useful" player..

and two he is a half way decent VFL player..who magicly fell out of a tardis and now wears a Melbourne jumper for reasons no one is too sure about!!

I have never...seen anything to make me change from the latter to the former !!

As one magnificent and wise sage once uttered *** Do or do not...there is no try !! ***

Posted

he should be very dissapointed with himself, but i dont think its fair for people to now to happy with him gone...i think he is better than that

Posted

I felt it should of been dismissed. Nothing in it. Miller was unlucky. If everyone tried like he did.............

It was late..it was crude.. it was sloppy..it was Miller !!

Exactly bb, what a pathetic effort from a so called leader of the club. He's constant brain fades are only shadowed by the absolute stupidity of those who feel that he is captain material. How far have we fallen that we have to rely on this guy to be our key forward?

No one gave that line.

Simply stated he was one of very very few who gave it a go. Look past bias of him please.

Got to drop duds like Robbo, Bell and Jamar. Would be good news for the club.

Great news to show that you can't be completely lazy and self centered player on the MFC (like Robbo)

Bell needs a run at Sandy, he is lost out there and his ok form from last year shouldn't save him for now.

Jamar is pathetic. Play Martin in ruck with White.
