Comes up every year, and one person always has the answer, just the players name and the year their contract expires.

Thanks to whoever comes to the party.

I would like to know this also.

I know Sylvia and Yze run up at the end of the year, that i am certain of

Of the mob who re-negotiated in the off season, who would have signed on for just the one year? Neita? Holland? Warnock? How many years did Robbo get?

Garland and Weetra come out of contract at seasons end. Hard to see Yze getting offered a new contract. You'd expect White will probably get another year, depending on how PJ, Meesen and Jamar come on.

My thoughts on those wanting contracts for next year

Expires 2008

Jeff White - 1 year at best

Adem Yze - (Insert snakes voice from the simpsons) Byeeeeee

Brad Green - 2 years at best

Matthew Whelan- 1 year at best due to injuries

Lynden Dunn - 2 years, possibly 3 if he plays well this year.

Brent Moloney - 2 years at most but will wont to play most of the year without injury.

Matthew Bate - 2-3 years

Daniel Bell - 2-3 years

James Frawley - 2year, need time to develop and grow.

Ricky Petterd - 2 years, kid has upside

Colin Garland - 1 max, I don't see much in him.

Isack Weetra - have not seem much of him, but what I have in AFL i ahve not been too impressed by

Neitz will retire, Holland will follow so that free's up a lot of money, Any decent players coming out of contract we should look into.

It was stated in the weekend Australian that Ben Holland will be retiring at the end of the year, so you can put him down as one definite to drop off the list.

I think you will find Bruce's contract expires at the end of the 2010 season!

4 to de-list

White

Yze

Garland

Weetra

The rest I agree with con84

I work with a bloke who is a close mate of Jeff White - White has stated that this is his last year, hence why the Dee's have recruited and are blooding ruckmen.

Mr Moose

Let's not get to worried about who should or should not be there.

I just want to know who re-neg'd K's from 2007. Thanks for the replies.

i think robbo signed a two year contract this/last year, so that would see him through to 2009, can we update that on wise monkeys post?

I hope you're not referring to Meesen? He will turn out to be Craig Cameron's greatest blunder. Yes, worse than drafting Luke Molan.:(

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

  • POSTGAME: Richmond

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
