Isn't it great to see him in the forward line, he played fairly well today, it wasn't his best game BUT that is where he should play and rivers allowed him to do that...i think we should persist with him in the forward line

Agreed 100%... I thought he played okay. Went quiet in the 2nd half, but 1st half was really good... almost as if he had been given an ultimatum to show something or get dropped. Looked like he was working hard up the ground, and also showed some aggression again.

At one stage it looked like he was running off the square and trying to take some blokes out (I think he laid a decent sheppard on Ablett at one point). I liked what I saw... so I hope that they persist with him up there

Yep. Not a goal kicker and not a backline player. Needs to play CHF/HFF and lead up along the wing. Played there minimally, but successfully, under Daniher, but that coach was too much of an idiot to play him where he belonged.

Much better at CHF than anywhere else. If nothing else he straightens us up so much. A lot less chipping around the boundary line and a lot more cutting back into the corridor and using targets there.

He was one of the best in the first half. Unfortunately as we were playing defensively in the second half, he didn't make much of an impact.

I like him leading long and hard, it opens up the forward line and now that he's kicking and hitting targets, he provides a good link-up between CHB and CHF. Certainly been our best CHF option this season. Will be interesting to see what happens when Bate returns.

One of his better games, and that's not saying much. I can't see why Bate or Dunn couldn't play a similar leading role, and both are far more likely to kick a goal. Miller has kicked something like 35 goals in 96 games. That's pathetic. Im my opinion he offers us little, and opposition coaches don't need to show him any respect.

Miller is definately an important player for the future! we lack agression and leadership on the field and he provides that... Not to mention his kicking has improved a lot!

I feel a win is around the corner

Go MFC!

We looked good with both Miller and Paul Johnson able to lead up today and provide am option.

I thought Miller was good today.....he'll never be a champion, but can become a very important part of the team!

Extremely one dimensional, not really a goal kicking forward as he gets the majority of his touches in the centre of the ground. I get the feeling that some people here will get excited about him if he merely manages to hold onto a handful of marks and gets about a dozen touches.

Cant believe we are still discussing Miller..

Cant believe he is still on our list...

He will be better there when Bate comes in to provide another option and Dunn gets more game time up forward.

If his role is to be the link man between the backline and the forward line he doesn't need to be kicking goals - just setting them up.

Bate and Dunn aren't big (as in strength) enough to at least put some doubt in a midfielder's mind to back into the leading CHF

Yze I felt the same for most of the last 2 years - but i get a feeling of his form in 05 when i watch Miller at the moment.. Time for you to deal with it - Miller is in the team so let's encourage him when he has a fair old whack at it... which he had today and had for the first half of last week..

He was OK.

It was one game.

He still has trouble kicking it properly.

We have lowered our expectations so far they are buried in the sand.

Miller is not the CHF of a Premiership side.

Simple as that.

true but he could be the HFF of a premiership team

Between Jarka and mo64 we have a pair. BUT OF WHAT?

Drop the 'voice of reason' act boys. You do not have the style or content to carry it.

Miller was serviceable. What people like is his effort and application and character as it can be perceived. Funny, neither Jarka nor m064 rate that. Says oh so much.

I'll take the 2 goals a game that a Bate or Dunn could provide, ahead of Miller's perceived toughness. Name one other CHF in the AFL that plays the same role as Miller? A non goalkicking CHF is a luxury we can't afford.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
