I think you'd be surprised at how mobile Jamar is, it's just that his brain isn't quick enough so it makes him look slow.

And he stands at 197cm (?), compare that to the likes of Ottens (202), Cox (204) and of course Sandilands and it's a fair bit of a difference

With just two changes, our defense would imrove a lot

Out - Carroll and Miller

In - Rivers and Holland

Posted
who would Holland play on when Will Minson wasn't in the forward line?

he would go forward

That is the beauty of Dutchy

Posted
he'll go forward and have his opponent run up the other end a kick a goal because he's so slow

Holland is on our list and should be picked on merit , not just because a young guy is or is not ready to play seniors .

He was our best player for Sandy on the weekend and therefore deserves to be played , end of discussion .

Disagree. I dont accept that a BOG at Sandy guarantees a recall to higher grades. He was kept on the list for a purpose and should only play in the line with that or if there are serious injuries.

I would rather find out what we can get out of younger alternatives. I know what I get out of Benny. At best he is passable, at worst he looks inept.

BTW who is his direct match up for a short team like the Bulldogs?

Any of the resting ruckmen , who would completely obliterate any of our key defenders otherwise.

BTW , I would rely on him to kick goals well before Newton , Robertson and Neitz .

I would be ;) You may be right, but either way the outcome is the same.

PJ moves far better, and is 1 cm taller (at 199, vs Jamar's 198 - MFC Almanack 2008).

Apparently Meesen is also a good athlete and moves well, and he's 200cm.

He played up forward last season, to good effect.

No room for him with all of Newton, Robbo, Neitz, and Miller though.

1cm isn't a huge difference :P

Meeson I can see playing as a defender, looks a bit like a fish out of water in the ruck from what I've seen of him (which in all honesty isn't much at all).

Jamar just needs to get angry more - he seems to play better when he is

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
