Stuart 'Flubber' Dew is fat.

Flubber Dew jumped around today as if he is a gun.

No way you can tell me he could have done this other than in a team that that was not totally dominating the opposition. Domination he had not added to whatsoever.

Has there been a more blatantly overweight man take the field since football became wholly professional? I think not.

Instead of posting this stupid thread how about watching him for about five weeks and seeing how he goes?

He killed us after a year out of the game, enough said.

exactly...I wouldnt be casting ascertions towards players who carved us up !! lol might want to look a little closer to home perhaps

He wasn't far off a career high in stats and he played with an intesity and a workrate that we would kill for right now.

Give him credit.

Indeed he did.

Being 'fat' is clearly working for Dew as he was doing a lot better than many of our so-called "match fit" players.

Nathan Jones > Dew > entire Melbourne FC.

What a bunch of moping, self-flagellating, perspective losing, dreary people.

If you had not guessed, my pot was a light-hearted one, the more you act like a loser, the more you are one! If your like this in round one I reckon you will all top yourselves by the end of the season, have a laugh and indulge in some good old fashioned slagging off the opposition!

a certain byron pickett looked fairly similar last year...

at least stewart dew had a crack

Yep Byron gets my vote too. The fact that he actually played a senior AFL game in his situation last year was embarrassment enough. The most unfit footballer I've ever seen take the field.

Tony Lockett??

+1 the other sad thing was when he won the ball from the defensive side of the centre bounce...broke a few tackles then delivered it lace out to buddy or another hawthorn forward.

Dean Rioli.

Provided he doesn't keep doing his hammy, Dew will probably kick 30-40 goals for the year (more than what Melbourne's entire forward line looks like achieving atm)

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
