Not a pointless thread mousey.....

Congrats on becoming a member for the first time.

Buying a membership this season is something I haven't done yet (although with money coming in this week it will be taken care of).

And good luck in the recruitment of your mates :) !!!

Good Work mousey

I can only hope that you do 'crack' your mates.....and you all end up with Gold Membership Cards in the future.

By the way, if it is not too much trouble, have a crack at some stangers up there too while you are on a role

Go Dees -

Well done mousey, you are now a supporter not a barracker!

The club can't survive without support.

not sure if i understand what your saying mate? can you explain?

Yeah well i got my girlfriend into AFL, when we started going out 3 and half years ago she hated it with a passion only cause she never gave it a chance as rugby league is all people talk about here back then, anyway i converted her to a dees supporter and not just a slight conversion, she lives, breathes and sleeps it like me, and hates rugby league now :) calls them all wankers haha

eery!!! I also am 22, living in Brisbane, and saved the cash for my first membership this year...Always travelled back down a couple of times a year to watch the boys play, but finally bit the bullet and joined up.

Excellent work boys!!!

Hopefully this is the year when people who are in two minds actually take up memberships. We need them more then ever!

I'm sick of hearing how well the Kangaroos are going in the membership stakes.

Well done Mousey! I wish there were more like you amongst our 'fair weather' supporters. I have lived in Canberra for the last 38 years and I'm a Platinum Member of the mighty MFC. I was lucky enough to live through the glory years of the 1950's and early 1960's and I can tell you its a great feeling. I hope its not too long before you experience it first hand!

Go Dees!1

Nicely done Mousey... You are TOTALLY fishing for compliments... Thus:

...

Ahem...

Good on you mate... This, I reckon, is what maes me LOVE places like demonland... you can get an honest message out there, and have supporters have a more educated group mentality... Mousey, you sound like the only reason you're joining now is cos you couldn't before, so while you're not EXACTLY what I'm talking about, my point still stands.

I salute you... and want to see you make a thread in 20 years fishing for us to congratulate you for sticking with us that long...

I know how you feel. It feels like 'job for the boys' sometimes and if you don't have the right connections, it's tough for juniors.

Good luck.

Well I am also happy to say that my 2 brothers and I are all going to be MFC members this year.

Convinced the oldest to sign up, he never did cause in all honesty he isn't a big time supporter. Actually isn't really a supporter of sport in general, I just came to the conclusion of he has the money easily, so sign up!!

I have been buying a junior membership and donating to the club for years now but never bothered signing up myself.

However me and my other older brother (middle of the 3) are signing up this year!

We just never bothered because we are already MCC members and there is nothing and MFC membership can do for an MCC member. And before that we just went as guests to every game in the AFL members with our Dad. But fair enough at that time I was below 16 and really couldn't afford a membership.

But now as we have become older (19 and 23) we not only have the funds but realise it is our responsibillity to become members.

What right do we, or any of us who claim to be Melbourne supporters, have to go to every game in Victoria and see our great team play if we are not members, if we are not doing even more to help our club, help them to not just survive, but push forward into a new era. An era where we leave behind, but respect, the past 40 odd years and look forward to a safe and vibrant future.

I know what I am doing next pay day. Signing up, and so we all should. I won't be doing the 40 dollar membership crossed with the MCC. As I believe that isn't enough respect for the club.

I am going to be buying a 150 dollar MCC/MFC membership, two 55 dollar junior memberships. One for my niece and one to donate back to the club to try and push on some kid somewhere, and I will be buying one for my slowly but surely budding MFC supporter of a girlfriend. It has taken to our 3rd year but she is beginning to ditch her history with the Saints and join the Melbourne Football Club.

I plead with all of you to do the same. Re-join. Join for the first time. Feel the pride that Mousey is. Convince people you know. Do everything you can. Let's turn it around.

Go Dees!!

great post demons 32!!

I just checked on the dees site and the membership counter has changed too - 18, 103, which isnt a big difference from the last number that was on there!!

I know we have been dogged a bit from the AFL with the pre-season not giving people in melbourne a chance to actually go see our team, which probably reflects to some extent our bad membership numbers but.... why is it so low? Are we the lowest in the AFL right now!

I wish i could do more!

well done you are one of the 300 people who have joined up in the past three weeks according to updated figures we are just over 18,000 members, if people don't start to join we will be the club in Western Sydney. Don't kid yourselves that we will be right because we ae Melbourne a name is easy to change. If you haven't joined please do.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.
