Just like to personally thank CAC and his team and all the individuals in other states who put in the hard work to get the job done over the past year and on draft day. The pressure and demand of the job requires a lot of hard yards, sleepless nights and tough decision when you look at the resources that the other power clubs have here in Victoria and in other states.

I am stoked at the players that Craig and his team have delivered and to you and you team Craig I whole-heartedly thankyou for your committed efforts at ensuring the success of this great football club.

good job CAC...i can officially say that what ever happens to any of these players is now into the hands of the developmental staff and coaching staff and that you will not be blamed if one or two of these players are not success stories because you followed the best player available principle succesfully

Sorry for seeming to pick on you, but that's rubbish.

We'll know if it's a good selection in 1-4 years, and you can't "officially" say anything. CAC hopes and thinks they were the best available, and they may be, but if they're not he's accountable.

Stop the child like worshipping and obsequious comments.

Unless this thread is congratulating the 2004 or 2005 draft, we got some problems...

Morton, Grimes, and Maric are just names and potential at the moment. I'm guessing the effusive praise is coming from the outside opinions of our picks. You cannot determine the performance of CAC based on the opinion of the greater football community (Connors, WB recruiting bloke, Andrew Maher etc).

BTW I will always defend CAC but seriously...

no no I'm always open for criticism lol...what i was trying to say, and yes i am getting a little excited, is that i think that at THIS stage in time, melbourne has done very well and from what i know (which cant be expert compared to ppl in the AFL) i thought that he picked the best players available (looking at the matches i have seen and the footage i have watched) and i think however with the potential that some of these players have, it is now in the hands of the developmental staff and i am looking forward to see what they can achieve...i would also like to say that if one or two of these players are not succesful AFL players, it doesnt always mean bad picks, but the club may not have done them well...that is what i was trying to say if i am not making sense, tell me

You're not making sense, but hey it's all looking a bit moot anyway...

lol..sorry to make a bad post even worse but i am trying to say that i think it up to the coaching staff to turn players into good AFL players, and if say mcnamara and jack grimes for instance, turn out to be absolute poo, i will not just blame CAC, but i will blame the coaching staff aswell...because i think CAC drafted well this year

anyway, hes about to leave us

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
