New MFC Logo

Featured Replies

i presume they are trying to give us one image. because all of the melbourne supporters have that same logo on the back of their range rovers, a lot of people might think of that as bieng the melbourne logo.

i think the logo we have now is fine and we should keep it that way for a number of years to create an image. lets change the bloody mascot or alternative strip

I like the old one (similar to carltons), if not the current one is a million times better than that crappy thing.

Agreed, the old MFC based on the MCC is our heritage and should be embraced.

That new logo must be a joke, my 4 year old could have knocked that up in photo shop in about 10 minutes.

It took me 11m14sec but I wasted about 4 minutes trying to find the font. Your 4 yo is good.

Was sent an email today from the club about the 'Advisory Panel' - in it they said that the club had a new logo for next year:

I for one am not overwhelmed by it. I prefer the current logo. Thoughts?

I'm happy with it, if it means that they'll change the clash jumper because it has the old logo on it.

The clash jumper's a shocker.

This new logo is rubbish.

Is there anything we can do to stop from being our new 'official logo'?

I think this looks cheap & nasty, without style & is way too stuffed shirt.

Did my advisory panel bit yesterday... I voted it as being crap (even before i saw this thread)

Yep I ticked 'Somewhat worse' -

I've always thought we should go back to the gold MFC entwined logo, like the Carlton one. There's a word for those style of logo, bt I can never remember it.

Monogram. The proposed logo looks like something that might have been submitted in Year 11 Visual Communication and Design. It would have struggled to get a 'B'. What's wrong with actually seeking the services of a Graphic Artist with nous and vision to knock something up which represents a future?

Here are the ones from the past (can anyone find the old carlton like one????), we have the choice of these four or a new one. have i missed any??

If they replace the Demon logo with the M flame I'll boycott. That is probably one of the best logos in the comp imo.

I'm not sure what you mean 'calabreseboy', which one is it you like.

Where can I tell them to shove it back where it came from?

(Not that I support child abuse. . . )

sorry to be a a bit of a dumbass but wat does our current logo look like?? i neva take any notice of it

The current logo, although getting older, still looks modern and fresh.

It represesnts the future without a box or shield to bind it in.

The proposed logo is boring and lifeless, a throwback to the past.

I realise it's our 150th next year, but couldn't a white 150 be added to the red v at the bottom of the demon's face just for 2008.

I don't understand why we're waisting time and money trying to fix one of the only things at the club that doesn't need fixing.

Does any one have a pic of the old MFC done like the MCC? i Looked but could not find it.

I used to have one, but I can't find it.

IMO that is the best logo. It's traditional and that's the one we should use next year.

someone must have ye old MFC (MCC) one somewhere. it's the missing piece. btw, i think it was on that trophy that david neitz was handed to by ron barassi at the last optus oval game. it had the CFC on one side and the MFC on the other if my memory served my correctly. i wouldnt actually mind the current logo if it had that MFC thing in the middle of it. they are reallly pushing for the whole "melbournefc" thing too much though

It's in the avatars section on Demonology. It is a very good logo although my favourite has always been the demon in the shield (far left of the three that are in another post).

The new one looks very much like the logo used in the early 90s. Very disappointing.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
