Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I guess there could be up to 4-5 changes this week due to injuries. If those 5 were taken our then theyd be the first ones to come in.

In: PJ, Buckley, Garland, Ward, Miller

Out: Holland (inj), Davey (inj), Bell (inj), Bate (inj), Robbo (inj)

No point playing Robbo and Bell if they are playing at 70% fitness ... better off getting games into PJ, Buckley and Garland.

I also saw Newton limp off at the end of Friday night's game. Don't know if he will come up.

Valenti must get rookied next season as reward for Sandy's players who perform outstandingly. How much more motivated will Sandy players be if they know they might get a spot on MFC's list if they perform well enough?

Good to see Neaves and CJ in the best.

Saw him last night at about 2am on Fitzroy Street ... looked a little full of the juice too ...

Simon Buckley ate Michael Newton? :o

Sorry... it sounded funny in my head...

Anyways, great result for Sandy, and really pleasing to see Neaves named in the bests. Obviously with PJ and Jamar not playing, he was able to get some decent game time, and put his skills on display.

I'm looking forward to the match report to read exactly how he went.

Inside Football reported that Mark Williams believes that Summers should be rookied next year. Did not mention Valenti.

Summers has already been rookied on an afl list and failed.

I actually spoke to him a year back and asked him whether he was trying to get a rookie spot on another AFL team's list like MFC. (I'm a Summers fan).

He told me that when he was on an AFL list he didn't handle it well and he didn't have the drive to be an AFL player. He said that he was more than happy playing VFL and continuing other employment ventures as well ... This is coming from him mouth, I don't think he can be an AFL player.

Valenti on the other hand is young and committed and it seems to me has the passion/skill to make it at AFL. I'd be more than happy to rookie him.

Summers may have changed his position since because from the sound of the IF article he might be happy to get onto an AFL list.

It should also be noted that the MFC doesn't have automatic first call on players who happen to be on Sandy's list. I wouldn't be surprised if players like Valenti, Summers, Monaghan, Stefan Martin and Tomi Johnston get strong consideration by clubs at the end of the year.

Interesting you mention Stefan Martin,

My girlfriends brother is a basketball and ex team mate of stefan martin (and scott pendullbury for that matter). with their father American their household is not particularly AFL interested and when I mentioned I was a Melbourne supporter they told me they had a friend who had gone to the demons just a couple of weeks before. I knew that really couldn't be the case as all the lists had been lodged and so after asking a few questions managed to find out he was in fact asked by Melbourne to join sandy this year.

Certainly seems we have our eyes on him, and after his impressive performances this season I would be surprised if we did not at least rookie him if he was still available.

Saw him last night at about 2am on Fitzroy Street with Nathan Jones and Chook ... looked a little full of the juice too ... not really surprising that he pulled out!

Yeah also saw them to. They were coping it from alot of the ppl on fitzroy st about the Demons. Would be bloody hard for those kids to just shut up and cop it and not retaliate. Its a test of chracter to hold your lip especially after a few drinks. Watch the reserves today also and I firmly believe we should rookie list Valenti.. Look at Sam Mitchell. I dont want to see Shane Valenti on another AFL list but ours.

thank for that heath neville im sure your battling your heart out lol :P :D

A particularly sceptical response! Heath and Clint B lived with my family last year so I have a feel for what he has gone through and been up to. I'm sure we ALL hope that he is successful - who wants to wish for a wasted draft pick.

For the regular Sandy watchers, why isn't Neville getting a game in the seniors? We've only got 10 melbourne players in our senior team and he is regularly named in the best for the 2nds. I guess he's probably gone at the end of the year.

Maybe because he is no good and doesn't deserve his spot there...

Garland pulled out cos he was sick, not because melbourne wanted him to.

And i think Williams did not make mention of Valenti doing a pre-season because it is a given. I think they could both easily play AFL next year but i think it would be unlikely the dees would take both. If they were on Melbournes list this year they certainly would have played plenty of footy for them this year. But for me i'd go Valenti first, purely for the age factor.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
