Time to predict who will be improved 08

We have had fun with the 07 predictions lets see how everyone can go for 08 then we can see how we all go say by mid year 08.

Mine are newton,picket and bruce.

It is time for Matthew Bate to shine

1:Bodan Babawhatisname

2:Clint Bartram

3:Brock Mclean

For mine

1. Lynden Dunn

2. Paul Johnson

3. Colin Sylvia (make or break season for him)

My improvements are.

1. Simon Buckley (will cement a spot)

2. Byron Pickett (will win us all back with consistent form)

3. Colin Sylvia (watch him tear it up after a full pre-season)

Green, Bruce and Robertson.

Because

-someone will mention to them that Neitz might be playing his last year.

-the new coach will also be putting a regular set of rockets up them.

-Robertson and Bruce have both been constantly undermined by injury this year.

Let's not forget, all three of these players have shown that their best is All-Australian level.

Note that I've excluded players who are out with injury but the returns of Yze, Whelan and Rivers in particular add A LOT to our line-up.

Note also that from all of the young kids we should get a few who'll take another significant step. I'm particularly keen on the Dunn/Bate/Newton trio drafted together all now reaching the next level of maturity.

So that's three different sets of three who I reckon we'll all be seeing a lot more of next year.

1. Clint Bartram- was injured all year and I think he will get back to some form that was a lot better than his debut season. I'm sure he would have bulked up alot more being on the sidelines for so long.

2. Newton: I think this is a bit dodgy putting him down..as he came out of nowhere this season. I have no doubt he will get better next season though. I would love him to kick 40 or more goals next year.

3. Yze- He will play all 22 games next year and embarass those supporters who thought he wasn't valuable.

I reckon Jones will just get better.

Dunn, Johnson and Bate. (Only reason not bartram is that he is already there, if he can just remain injury free next year)

No need to single anyone out....IT'S NEEDS TO BE A TEAM EFFORT !!!!

sylvia, newton, bartram. I reckon these boys will lift next season, especially sylvia if he gets that pre season under his belt.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
