We may be getting a better look at who's in our best 23 from today's training photo gallery. It appears that our first team players were selected in the blue team's forwards and the white team's backline, while the midfielders were evenly mixed. Most of these are probably as expected. Interesting to see Melksham straight back into the ones.

WHITE

DEFENDERS (first team)

  • Tmac

  • Disco

  • Lindsay

  • Taylor (featured on both teams)

  • Howes (may have been playing on the wing)

  • Lever

MID (evenly spread across both teams)

  • Windsor

  • Steele

  • Sparrow

  • Heath

FWD (reserves)

  • AJ

  • Mentha

  • Kolt (may have been a mid)

  • Matthews

  • Kentfield

BLUE

DEFENDERS (reserves)

  • Taylor (featured on both teams)

  • Berry

  • Adams

MIDS (evenly spread across both teams)

  • Rivers

  • Langdon

  • Koz

  • Gawn

  • Langford

FORWARDS (first team)

  • Roo

  • Chandler

  • Fritsch

  • Latrelle

  • Melksham

  • Jeffo

Petty was pictured in a blue top, however it appeared that he was running laps of the oval.

Not pictured: May, Salem, Viney, Culley, CJ, Laurie, Bowey, McAdam, Mihocek, Campbell, Sharp, White, Onley, Henderson, AMW

Is MAX growing a lid ?

AFL rules on the Long-Term Injury (LTI) list allow clubs to temporarily replace injured players who are expected to miss a minimum of six weeks . Players on the LTI cannot compete during this minimum duration, allowing clubs to activate a rookie or elevate a player without salary cap penalties for the replacement player.

Whilst we know about Viney's injury the situation with McAdam as far as I know, has not been made clear.

Campbell too????

Is the unfortunate Shane McAdam still listed as LTI? Jack Henderson was his SSP last season. Can the club double dip?

Jack Viney may need super human powers to be even considered for selection this season. To return to play post-op would be daunting for most mortals.

There was some speculation about potential SSP’s in another thread recently. From the limited photo gallery snaps difficult to synthesize wholistically on availability’s. But did image 3 have Tairon Ah-Mu in the background?

Not like for like but a speculative opportunity may open up for a young untested player with size and athleticism.

Tom and Jack one would expect to be back on track at some stage earlier or later in the season.

Yes, because they would have had to cut down list numbers at the end of last year and decided to keep Henderson. So if McAdam is an LTI this year, it's a separate list spot.

No i’m pretty sure that Henderson is now on our Rookie List Mickey and Shane McAdam is on our main list for ‘26.

I would pull the trigger now on both J.V and McAdam and elevate Luamon Lual to the list. He looked very good a few weeks back in match sim

Max said today in Triple M segment with Brownless and Daisy that Jack will be back in 3 months!

Comparing Jack’s Achilles to the severity Shane McAdam’s Achilles injury is probably erroneous.

Charlie Spargo was listed injured (non-specifically) at North last week. Is he still attempting to recover from his Achilles which has dogged him over the last few seasons?

Recall he bit the bullet and had surgery early last season after unsuccessfully attempting lengthy non-surgical rehabilitation. He returned to play with Casey towards end of the season but suffered concussion which ended his comeback.

Sorry, I'm using the term 'list' holistically. All SSPs are added to the rookie list, but you still need to have a spot open up.

At the end of the year, no-one stays on the Inactive list and the club needs to cut back to a certain number of players on the main and rookie lists. We did that and still kept Henderson.

So Henderson is not currently taking up McAdam's spot in the overall list. If McAdam is put on the Inactive list, my understanding is we can choose another SSP, who also goes on the rookie list like Henderson

Picket ‘The Penguin’ will not be impressed.

The way things are headed we could have Viney, McAdam and May off the list.

Why would Viney be off the list? He’s had surgery and they said three month recovery. May on the other hand sounds like he may call it quits, which may not be a bad thing if we want an extra list spot for a preseason signing.
