    Impressive images.

    Good to see the academy boys on deck. Xavier Ladbrook is the young beanpole. Darcy Szerszyn at the 10 second mark is a strong lad, he looks like he'd fit straight in.

    When I first got to training he was doing a drill with about 9 others and he took a strong grab over a couple of them and I remember thinking ‘Who is this kid!’

    I watched him as much as I could and I was really impressed by him.

    Firstly these 2 guys training at the moment are part of the AFL Academy not the Melbourne NGA academy. We don't have draft rights to either of them, although we have drafted guys we've had train with us before, most notably of late being Harvey Langford.

    In terms of our NGA I've got the feeling like I might be missing one or two but Toby Bedford is our best known NGA graduate who played for the club. Andy Moniz-Wakefield another who has played some games. And Ricky Mentha on the list this year.

    We we're ineligible to draft Mac Andrew and opted against drafting his brother Riak Andrew.

    No advertising involved. None of this is monetised.

    I've been doing this as a labor of love since 2012, providing preseason training imagery for the Demonland crew (and also on a long lost site called Demonology). Just a long-time demon fan who is now retired and has plenty of time on his hands.

    I have a youtube channel. LYJA moments. Just a place to store my work. There is a lot of private content shared with family and close friends, but also some public stuff that is available to view.

    • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

      Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.
