The first test will be whether the GF guarantee is open again. IIIRC it has been full since 2021.

TBH I have always found the GF guarantee for struggling teams a little sus but there's always optimists.

Bit like Funeral Insurance 😉 ( imo )

Given we've played three grand finals in sixty years, and one of those was interstate, the GFG is basically a donation to the club at this point.

I don't blame anyone who doesn't feel inclined to "donate" until the club gets it's act together on and off the field.

100% agree

Our social media presence has improved markedly over the last few months and I hope we’re considering an overhaul of our logo/branding too

There is so much potential to lean into and incorporate the demon, plus we already have an inspired retro option with the flame head which could be repurposed if we wanted to go in that direction

Oh and get rid of “Demon Spirit” while you’re at it - it doesn’t mean anything and we’ve had plenty of better slogans in the past (I was always partial to “Give em Hell”)

"Demon spirit" was the slogan for 2025.

The slogan for next season seems to be "Awaken the Demon"

Edit: our 2026 demon might be the equivalent of Gachnar. Demon of fear.

Honestly... w t f is wrong with our branding ?? 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Lets go waste money.... smh

Please, no...the last time that happened was a disaster.

Lets just get the football right first.

Good to see we’re concentrating on the important matters 🙄.

Home base? Nah just keep kicking that down the road, it’s the logo that we need to focus our efforts on.

Perhaps we should lean into the Demons thing more and have a satan chant.

On occasion some strange emails come in as it is. Some folks (overseas mainly) like to tell us devil-worshipping is a sin. Then there are some who wanna join us in devil-worshipping. 🤣

Wait till we see what happens when we all add Demonland to our social media links for the US ETSA

I'd like to watch King's presentation at the AGM but can't find it on the Club's website or YouTube channel etc.

Nor could I find a link to watch a replay of the live stream recording.

Can anyone post a link to either one?

3.8 million for Goodwin & Oliver! Signing these dumb contracts knowing Oliver issues, extending Goodwin contract in 22 which was understandable but why again in 23??

The home base sounds like no guarantee once again whilst the hawks have moved into their 2nd since 2000

Guerra needing a mentor in Brian Cook to assist in footy areas… hope he’s not a Paul Macnanee mk2

Couldn’t agree more, even a sit down casual q & a. I think our socials have been pretty good but have missed an opportunity here. Kingy has had his feet under the desk for a bit now so you’d love to get his thoughts on how things are going so far, how was the camp, who’s flying on the track, who has surprised him etc. Thank goodness for our demonland community training reports.

Had been thinking the same thing. Would be good to have an update from him before Xmas. Still hopeful it will be done and on the site shortly as great opportunity to connect with members and provide some first impressions on the group and focus after the break.

Fingers crossed.

Are you saying you won't need funeral insurance for another 57 years Bub? :-)

Article in today's Age on the relative finances of the AFL clubs.

While we're not a basket case suffice to say we're still on Struggle Street.

Of Victorian clubs we were ranked second last both in members and revenue beating only North.

On AFL handouts we scored a little better with North Saints and the Bulldogs getting higher handouts.

This was a year to forget for the Demons. There was major on-field upheaval, while they also recorded a $4.45 million loss, significantly impacted by the decision to axe Goodwin and move on Oliver. This came a year after the Demons had to factor in a $3.1 million payout to Angus Brayshaw for his medical retirement. While they had a drop in membership to 58,563, the Demons insist their balance sheet is strong. They have net assets of $24.4 million, a Future Fund of $23.7 million and combined cash and financial assets of $6.9 million. Their membership and gate receipts were $18.3 million.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
