And on the MFC website they’ve updated the men’s sessions at Gosch’s but no mention of the women’s sessions. I’ll be so disappointed if I miss their first session back after that win; I’m always keen to greet them as they arrive from AAMI but this is next level excitement!

Got to say Ghosty Iv'e warmed to the Girls' after last weekends effort!

Yeah, I’m sad for Dingo and GG but someone had to go 😕

Yeah, I thought Denby was pretty good last week. Was a bit shaky in her first game back from injury a few weeks ago but she's gotten better with each game.

Captain’s run tomorrow morning at 10:30am at Gosch’s. Our last chance to give the girls our love and support before gameday. It would be great to see supporters there. ❤️💙

Will do everything in my power to be there!

Watch them bring the heat again this weekend!!!

Given North will be the "home" team, I'm assuming they will be in the Carlton rooms on the southern side of the ground. As such where will the Demon Army/our cheer squad be located? I'm thinking I probably won't sit in my usual Princess Park location as I'm not keen on dealing with the previously referenced feral North fans, and find the prospect of at least sitting near some decent, upstanding citizens decked out in red and blue much more appealing. 😇

We're in the Hero's stand under the scoreboard

Sadly life has gotten in the way. ☹️

But if we are still alive next week............life will have to take a back seat.

Listen up Dees faithful.

In 148 years of VFL/AFL history, only 5 teams have gone undefeated through a regular season.

Four of them lost in the finals.

That's an 80% failure rate when it counted most. The same pattern I witnessed across over 20 years coaching junior basketball. Underdogs playing with free spirit and no weight of expectations. Underdog coaches throwing bold tactics not seen by the undefeated team all season. An defeated season potentially leading to a mental attitude of superiority that is the beginning of their downfall.

It's a human phenomenon.

North Melbourne carries 25 straight wins into Saturday. History, psychology, and the brutal reality of finals football all whisper the same truth: that streak is their burden now, not their armour.

Finals are a brand new season. The slate wipes clean. And our girls just discovered who they are at exactly the right moment.

Tomorrow, we end the streak at 25.

Go Dees!

Great ins but geez GG and especially Denby are stiff! I thought Denby had some game saving and breaking moments last week and is in a lot better form than Lampy and Banno as much as I love them playing.

Yeah. I thought Denby over Bannon for sure. Feel for her

Hell yeah. I have the same feeling @Dee in a Kilt

Norf have everything to lose.

One of the biggest underdog prelims I've ever seen.

I reckon this will go to the wire.

I hope we pull a huge crowd of supporters to help get us over the line.

I just put the house on the Demons to get up

It'll either be a very very good christmas for the Dubs or sacks of coal all round

Geez we're still at 9.50

Ridiculous odds

Hearing whispers (or perhaps just speculation) linking Mick Stinear to Geelong, after they parted ways with Dan Lowther this morning. Puts a bit of a different spin on that video with all the mentions of it being a different team next season and his emotion after the game last week...

Of course, there might be nothing in it. Regardless, three teams now on the hunt for a senior coach for 2026.

Season 5 No GIF by The Office

Surprised Ebert didn't get dropped thought she'd be the first to go.

The team

B: S.Taylor, Gillard

HB: Chaplin, Lampard, Goldrick

C: McNamara, Hore, Mackin

HF: Fitzsimon, Harris, Waotherspoon

F: Mahony, Zanker

FOLL: Pearce, Hanks, Heath

IC: Paxman, Ebert, Campbell, Bannan, O'Hehir

I've heard Shae Sloane is regarded as a candidate for the vacant coaching spots. If Mick leaves, will Shae be more inclined to stay and take our senior position?

I read somewhere Kate McCarthy is interested to coach the Dees. I was thinking, well we have Mick, why on earth would she even be thinking that??

...then your post.

Geelong men's team is currently a leader in modern footy strategy and, from what Kingy has said, in the structuring of coaches and the football department for maximum effectiveness on the footy field. Mick has been with the Dees 10 years. He likely needs a refresh for his own development.

If it is so, I wish we could bring Daisy back to her spiritual home.

This was very much my audible reaction! But, and I hate to say it, something about it rang true to me. And he's out of contract. After he hit 100, I was reflecting on the idea that at some point something would have to give (new challenge for him, new voice for our players), but was hoping for one more season so we can really hit our stride in this iteration of the team.

Anyway, time will tell. All focus on tomorrow! Game result aside, very likely our last game in Melbourne so a last chance for many to send off some key figures in person. Not to retire or trade anyone early (I refuse to be wrong about Paxy for the millionth time)!

I do wonder about the possibly of Chaplin as a late out...

I really hope so. Good for continuity and she's highly rated. If there's going to be a vacancy, I hope we're able to jump early and get the best candidate (sound familiar?!). Hopefully the club is on the ball.

I’m not convinced Maevo will hit the park tomorrow. She said she’s good to go but there was a sense of doubt in her demeanour, a very faint sense of doubt but I definitely felt it.

I felt the opposite with Denby. She said she understood that decisions have to be made etc. but her vibe was one of hope and optimism, something the young players have trouble hiding 🥹

Wouldn’t be surprised to see her in for Maeve as a late out.

Doesn't Mick live on the Surf Coast? If so, could be forgiven for a gig closer to home. Agree with others Denby was stiff - thought she was very good, composed last week. Thought for sure Ebert would be the one making way for Maeve - but as others have said, Denby a possible late inclusion. Get the sense there is a little bit of hope in naming Maeve. I think with Banno you get a bit more speed and versatility than Gall, plus running Campbell and Pearce, with backup from Harris, we might have the talls sorted? Tough call for the ones that miss out though...

I'm glad Stinnear is getting looked at for opportunities.

Great coach and seems like a great fella

Reinvented the W team many times and the team spirit and game plan is always solid

This is yet to be confirmed, Kat. That poll we took showed the Heroes Stand to be the overwhelming favourite of the two but Mitch said we won’t decide for sure until the early crew get into the ground, the question being whether the players’ bench obscures our view. The stands are close together so folks will find us easily.

PS I’m with you… the Gardiner Stand is less favourable because it has those old wooden benches and nobody likes a bum full of splinters while watching the footy 🤣
