Looks a pretty good kick and has intensity in contests. Something there.

The Age …

Farrow’s draft range starts at Essendon’s picks, and he has admirers into the mid-teens, but he should be long gone by then. He is one of the best kicks in this class – which should appeal to Melbourne – makes quick decisions, impacts the game as an interceptor, and showed his agility in combine testing. Farrow has also performed well in the midfield, but is more proven down back, where he will start and possibly stay in the AFL.

Okay, im starting to warm to Farrow. Spent some time really just going through his highlight tapes.

I liked this one because he plays as a full time mid and thought at times he looked explosive around stoppages.

He was dominant in the first half of this game, Kickett was fairly prominent in this game and the third quarter of Blake Kelly outstanding.

A long term Salem succession plan down back?

Big bodied classy mid the vision

Snags on the run from 50 ala Rivers but with cleaner disposal

What's your thought on Kickett PSD?

There has been some talks of potentially linking him with our third pick.

I like both he and Tyler Williams, both have the fast feet and lateral movement to glide through congestion and X factor for both is high. Kickett hits the ball quicker with some nice explosion whilst Williams works harder to get up the ground playing high and getting involved in transition chains.

Wouldn’t go wrong with either of them with that pick although I do like Hibbins-Hargreaves if available at that pick, Oli Greaves impressed me in the game against WA this year but I see theres some concerns on him being a bit one paced

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.
