I told my boss at 9am this morning i wasn't going to sit in my office and eat Twinkies and listen to trade Radio.

it's lying season.

Tell me about it.

The whole "he said, she said" routine is a total waste of energy.

What if it was Pick 7 & Jed Walter for Petracca and 24?

Who says no?

It depends if Bailey Humphrey is a possible alternative.

If he's not, i take that offer personally.

King and Petracca have been in contact, with another meeting this week. The relationship is amicable. Whilst I'm steadfast that he won't be at the Club next year, I wouldn't exactly put him and the situation into the Oliver / May mould.

Whilst it may be amicable with King it's superficial. There needs to be some fear with Trac and GC we will hold him to his contract.

Agree not it Oliver mould. Sadly as he is my favourite player and a top bloke although misguided.

I'm not sure I'd characterise it as superficial, though I think he may be agnostic about Petracca being at the club next year. It can be a little bit of 'column A' and also a little bit of 'column B', we're walking a bit of a tight-rope on this one.

I think our ability to play hard ball on Trac is inextricably linked to securing a trade for Clarrie - once Oliver’s deal is secured, we can more credibly claim we’ll hold Trac to his contract rather than accept GC’s low offer of picks only and no Humphrey.

As long as Clarrie’s trade is pending our hand is weak as everyone must know that our worst case scenario for the club is for both to remain at the club next year, for multiple reasons including relationships, next gen midfield space, and skill diversification

Strategy wise I would think the opposite. Trading Clarry for a pick in the 30's and paying a significant portion of his contract only shows our weakness. I'd be doing this one last minute unless we can get pick 12 from them.

Have to be able to get him on the phone first anyway. Was funny what he did to Leppistch.

I will always love him. Unfortunately there will be bad blood for a while but it will be glorious when he returns to a future Demon's function. I guarantee he cries, we all cry and he is honoured as one of our greatest ever players.

just say we got pick 7&8 from GC and then pick 14 from GWS, would WCE or RICH trade pick 2 or pick 3 for 7/8/14?

that would give either WCE or RICH 3 picks in the top 10 instead of 2.

Unsure on WC, but suspect there is very little chance Richmond would go for that.

Essendon have stated publicly that they are willing to turn pick 4 and 5 into pick 1 or 2, so we have no chance of getting into the top 3.

It got back to us that Trac said to GC we would fold like a cheap suit in requesting Humprey as part of a trade for him. Obviously we are irate he would get involved in the trade like this.

What I don't know is what will play out from here.

My guess is GC keep low balling us and we confront Trac about this (if we haven't already done so) and privately say we are keeping him to his contract. Then Lamb comes publicly out over weekend or early next week saying Trac will be kept to this contract (as an acceptable trade doesn't look like it can de done) to try and put pressure on the other parties to poney up a better deal.

What also supports GC low balling us is another player (Jake Rogers) we are interested in Cameron said today is not up for trade today in an interview.

Why would Trac do this is he wants the Suns.

If i was him i'd be telling the suns to trade Bailey and get the deal done

Precisely

Not to mention it's a big blow to this ego, if Gold Coast value Humphrey more than they value him

It doesn't make sense, and I am no fan of Trac's shady behaviour over the last 2 years

there is the stupidity factor though. i don't think he's the sharpest tool in the box.

If I was him I would have acted differently in many ways over the past few years. And if I was making decisions at the club I would have handled Team Trac a lot differently also.

Obvious answer is he wants to win but I don't know his motive. As I said it might have been a relatively innocent comment albeit very misguided and usual hence our reaction.

Strapping on the parachute now?

I am the boss, and I’m out of sight of workers checking my phone every 5 minutes in the hope of something happening. I think therapy might be cheaper and more productive than this.

Cherry picking at it's finest. Maybe take this in the totality of my comments, with particular reference to my comment today that I am steadfast that Petracca will not be at the club next year.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
