Bailey Humphrey isn't off the trade table until the trade period ends or the Trac deal is announced without him.

Noone knows exactly what's going on behind the scenes and there are so many games being played at trade time

My suggestion to all Demonlanders would be to just enjoy the ride. It's exciting to be linked to such a talented player and if we pull it off Tim Lamb absolutely will deserve enormous credit.

Great post and don’t for a second think that the Lamb, King, the coaches and players wouldn’t be desperate to get such a quality player into the club. They’ll all be doing their piece. Bowey & Windsor leading the charge from our younger guys.

people saying 7 and 8 arent good have no clue i reckon..

this draft isnt as strong as others but 2 of the top 15 players in this draft would walk into our best 23 everyday of the week

True. But is that an observation of the draft, or of our list?

I absolutely love the early commitment from Steven King and the club to take the pressure off Max, it's nice they're wheeling out other guys and letting the bloke who's carried the club from one crisis to another catch his breath

I completely understand the wishful thinking of many on here, especially with the unconfirmed reports (at least no reports in the media) that a meeting between Bailey and the Dees is happening today. But there has been very little coverage of any such meeting, and we all saw the storm that came from that private-eye-style photo of a walk around the Tan.

There’s simply no buzz or hype in the media, who we know are vultures and desperate to churn out a clickbait headline, about any meeting with between the Dees and Bailey.

I’m praying to the footy gods that we have a sniff, but I fear we’re hoping against hope.

Be prepared to be disappointed.

I mean I'm definitely one of the wishful thinkers. I've found myself just rejecting these stories and assuming he's on the table until it's finished.

But yeah, it is more unlikely than likely it seems.

And if we dont pull it off, be happy the club is being aggressive and wont die wondering.

People can rightly criticise Lamb and the club for many things, but I personally am happy with the approach so far this off season.

Better to rip off the bandaid now and set ourselves up (by extracting as best deals we can possibly get) than see these two play out their contracts at melbourne and achieve nothing.

Definitely agree but I think this one is a Max Level event. We should be at DEFCON MAX at the moment.

Please tell me if I’m wrong, but the only hard evidence of a “link” so far is a blurry photo taken from a car.

This is my point. GC and the Media keep telling us Bailey Humphrey is not on the trade table but people keep talking about meetings going on where we may or may not be getting a commitment by the end of the day.

If there was even any inkling of a "LINK", especially a huge LINK in the form of a meeting between the Dees and Bailey, the media would be all over it and not joining the Gold Coast in proclaiming that a trade is definitely off the table.

Where is the evidence? I love the intel from you and Demon Forever but the vultures in the media just are not circling and we know that they thrive on these things. If randoms truly have intel (not doubting you don't as you've been great in the past) are posting about these meetings on a forum why aren't the media getting wind of this. It just doesn't add up. I so want this to be true but the Morris and Edmunds and McClures of this world would be splashing whispers of these meetings all over their feeds if there was even a hint that they were going on and we've heard nothing.

I don’t profess to know about this meeting today but I do know we have been told the player would come to us if a trade could be brokered.

Him walking around the tan with Steven King and Nathan Jones and our list manager confirming the interest directly multiple times is pretty good.

Have you seen him there today? 👀

@Dannyz The operative term here is “hard evidence”.

You’re confusing your intel with public knowledge.

You mean nobody in this thread sent them the DM to inform them?! 🤪😂 • The media doesn't always get hold of everything. Sometimes things happen without their knowledge. Secrets can be kept.

Correct but the signs are quite obvious.

I don’t think any of the contracted current crop have publicly declared they want to move to a certain club have they? The Merrett takes I saw was I’m working through things, not I want to be traded to hawthorn.

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
