Bailey Humphrey

Next year every big club will have prepared for Bailey Humphrey. We're in a unique position now with Trac. We won't be able to shoot this shot next year.

Agreed. That’s a dream scenario. But I think it happens this year. Humphrey doesn’t need to agitate, this trade is about Trac.

“Bailey had genuine reasons for wanting to come back to Melbourne. Ultimately Gold Coast position is clear and we will respect that. He loves his teammates and will be back up on the Coast next month.”

Well he's going to be on trade radio. time to say

"Bailey has a really serious set of personal circumstances and he desperately wanted to get back to Vic, specifically the MFC, unfortunately to this point the GCS aren't listening to him and he is quite dissapointed in the lack of care he's being shown"

Watch the landscape dramatically change if the managed gives the Suns a good whack and publicly declares his intentions.

Could just as easily say "Bailey would like to get back home for personal circumstance but we realise that he is contracted and Gold Coast have assured us there will be plenty of opportunities for Bailey to get back home for visits and we will revisit this in 12 month time."

Aren’t Melbourne meeting with GC Suns today to discuss the trade (per @Dannyz ).

Could set up the meeting very nicely if BH manager drops a public trade request shortly prior to meeting

What happened to “Less talk, more action,” though? Isn’t that what everyone asks for?

As far as we know BH has twice met with the club and has had a medical.

Don’t actions speak louder than words?

Can we find out if he did in fact 110% have a medical with Melbourne? Are we actually any chance of this trade happening? Or are we all just equally hanging onto a dream 😅

Disagree on this occasion.

Humphrey isn’t the main event of this trade. This is about GC needing Trac badly. People undervaluing Trac need to imagine how incredibly well he’d fit into GC and where they are right now.

I almost prefer to keep Trac, watch him have a proper monster season. Get Humphrey next year.

But I expect GC to cave last minute. And the last minute cave from GC will be good for us, Humphrey + p7 for Trac + junk picks.

Prob time for people to start realising Humphrey is worth more than Trac.

It’s more likely Trac and 24 (or later pick) for Humphrey.

Or announce Bailey wants a trade . Not hopeful of that though surley he would come out earlier if so

Things like that are never really conveyed in a live interview. The media gets briefed a few hours before hand then the interview gives further context. Suns have asked Humphrey to finally shut down the talk through his manager.

I get the feeling he might be going on to shut this down for good.

However, his player does want to leave. So I’m not so sure.

He’s not going to do anything wild but I expect something better than shutting it down.

Damian Barrett’s said he expects the Petracca trade to go through today, for picks 7&8 with a pick in the 20’s going back.

So if the mail given to us is good (and I am not doubting it), Bailey has had at least two separate meetings with the club as well as the medical.

As we can all agree those arent the actions of someone who wants to stay at his current club, or at the very least the acts of someone seriously entertaining a move.

So it would seem odd for the manager to come out and shut the trade down?

If the presumption about Bailey wanting out is true, wouldnt that logically mean he has communicated that to his manager who would then be advocating for his move away from the club. Would be an odd move for a manager to take a contradictory approach to what his client wants?

Maybe its wishful thinking but im hoping the manager interview is an attempt to set the foundation for a publicly advertised intention to request a trade.

Instead of shutting it down.. he should request the trade and BLOW IT RIGHT UP! 😂

Think we'd be pretty peeved if the trade went through today..

If I was a betting man I would bet a farm in Geelong on this.

If Suns won't budge he will eventually have to make do for another season. He clearly didn't have the stomach to blow everything up and come back to pre-season with his tail between his legs next year.

Mark my words, this will be a straightbat interview along the lines of "Humphrey spoke to a few other clubs to see what his options might look like but is very happy at the Suns and will be playing at the Gold Coast next year."

I am not sure the Suns are in a position to ask Humphrey to do them any favours by means of shutting down his desire to go home

Doesn't mean it won't happen anyway

I am not sure that Humphrey's manager really understands that his job is to serve his player, and not the club his player plays for

He is a disaster

I'd be shocked if his manager was going on Gettable to announce a trade request.

No doubt he wants this but I don't think he's prepared to throw the hand grenades on the last few days of trade period.

I have no idea whether the mail on here is correct or not but at the end of the day Bailey is contracted and perhaps Gold Coast as resolute in saying they won't trade him. If the Suns truly believe we will end up trading for picks, and in my opinion I think we will, then they will hold firm.

Probably won't even ask him about Bailey because no one out there is talking about it except us 😂😂

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?
